It's nice to see an e-bike not trying to be a moped. Everyone gets so carried away with specs of how much watts and battery size, when really the comfort of the ride and how authentic a biking experience it is ultimately will make you fall in love with it.
Kudos to Velotric seeing where the market is turning, pun intended! Also, can't wait to see where this takes us. It's funny how e-bike brands are slowly moving to where the european brands have occupied with a more natural ride, the pedal assist modes, styling that more resembles a traditional bike, etc.
I have been doing extensive research on this one and I am mad my algorithm didn't recc your channel sooner! Nice to see someone try this out in Chi on the 606. Might have convinced me to get it as well since I live in a tiny ole apartment on a 3rd floor and this seems very luggable! Gonna check your T1 video out now and see if I like it more. Thanks again!
Scott ! It ordered (Scott link) and coming Saturday MED ST1 same color looking forward to this particular ebike oh trust me I have own many different ebikes none like this 😊 36lbs got me hoping it all that ev1 said it is ! Thank you again ! Ride safe 🇺🇸👍
Thanks, I think I found that same video. They did some basic mods to make a gravel bike out of the T1 ST, including wider tires (50mm), although in the comments he noted they rubbed occasionally so recommended not going wider than 48mm. Just thought I would share in case it helps anyone.@@scotthardesty
@@UTEbrianL I just watched that yesterday and I have the tires in my cart. Now I need to see if they come in 48mm. I do plan on putting them on mine and switching out the pedals. I have already replaced their phone mount with a quad lock since I use it on a couple other rides.
@@UTEbrianL I watched that video a couple of times and didn't see where he says the 50mm occasionally hits. I figured with the bike having no suspension that if it fits, it fits without rubbing. The next size lower is 47mm
The info on tire width was in the comments, not the video itself. I'm thinking you could try a 50mm and hope it doesn't rub too much (it could compress when riding under pressure and bulge a bit, causing rubbing), or play it safe with something a little narrower. 45mm may be a good option because it would be completely safe and there are lots of tires in that size (from an initial search looks like 48 and 47mm are pretty rare). @@scotthardesty
Hey man Happy Monday. Dude these e-bikes are so much fun I’m looking at an E- motorcycle now! I have my eye on a few. I’m happy to see these e-bike prices starting to come down a bit. They also seem to hold their value extremely well! Another thing. I heard about some new battery technology some research facility in Illinois made. It’s supposedly 4x as dense, more powerful and a lot lighter.
e-motorcycles are pretty cool. I don't think I would be able to use them in the bike lanes here in Chicago. That's one of the things I love about riding an e-bike. I don't like driving in this city because of the traffic, so no being able to use the bike lanes would be a bummer for sure.
Hey Scott....May I ask what model is the black helmet you are wearing in this video please? It says "Kali Protectives Invader 2.0" in the link you provided but that is clearly *not* the same hgelmet as the one you are wearing.
Great bike, but wish it had a removeable battery. Where we have to store our bikes in our apartment building there isn't any electric to charge them...
The Thunder 1 ST is my favorite. Different riding position, different grips and tire size. The ST and my Aventure 2 are my 2 favorites right now. Don't tell my Nomad 1.

I was surprised on how natural this bike is to ride. As I mentioned in the video, this is my new summer bike for sure.

@@stephenstetler3324 True. Although I don't think the fat tire bikes are leaving us anytime soon. I love them both.
@@scotthardesty Oh definitely, we're American and we love our SUVs haha
@@stephenstetler3324 There are one or two out there that I am not so sure about. You will see on my next review. It's a love hate relationship.

Would the frame and fork accommodate wider tires?
Yes. I have put wider tires on mine. I have 700c x 40c on it now.

I'm glad you found me and thanks for watching! On my Best of 2023 video, I rate my T1ST as my overall favorite.

Thanks man. I am still riding this bike as my "go getter" over other bikes that I have. You will dig it! Thanks for the support!
Great review! Do you think you could put wider tires on it? Looks like there's some space between the tires and the frame. Maybe a 50mm?
I just saw a video where they put bigger tires on one I believe. I know they put different ones but can't remember if they were bigger.

What does this bike look like with the 25mph speed increase
It looks the same. hahahaha. I have unlocked mine and its super hard to get it to 25mph. 22-23 is the sweet spot.

Hello, do you know if you can raise the handlebars??
You would have to replace it with one of those adjustable stems. It does not have that option stock.
If you leave it parked outside (doing errands), can anyone turn it on?
Yes

Ah. The battery is removable but definitely not recommended.
