You could tell Ariel had a blast being part of the broadcast. The shot with him and GSP in the crowd was awesome. Wish they could've included him in one of the promos or matches in a small way by having him interfere or something. Ariel should definitely work with WWE again. They could have him as a valet like Heyman, he would thrive in it.

There's only so long you can keep up the good guy act, and Tony has been showing his true colors for a little while now. The shot at Big Swole, wanting to be thanked for the NWA women's ppv, his antics during scrums, and now this latest action just shows he's not the nice guy he pretends to be. He's really upset that Ariel doesn't kiss his ass like Meltzer and the other wrestling "journalists" do.

@@Monk0405 he’s biased against Ali fighters. He said Volk won the contest when a couple years ago he got visibly angry at people saying John Jones beat Dom Reyes because he finished strong. Ariel went on a rant saying how every round counts the same and you can’t discredit what Dom did just because Jones finished strong. Incredibly biased rat Ariel is.

TK is a fascinating case study if somebody who people have wanted to root for awhile that somehow makes that really difficult to do for silly reasons. When AEW was first announced I think the majority of people who enjoy wrestling or enjoyed it before were really glad to see AEW emerge and wanted it to succeed. People have longed to see a viable alternative in the market ever since the end of WCW and a guy like Tony who has the money and the TV to actually do that was a welcome thing.
But time after time Tony has made that difficult to do because of the silly things he does. A major thing is that he consistently wants things both ways and it’s transparent to see. He wants to play the little guy whenever WWE does anything and point out how they’re treating him. But at the same time he will pump himself up and talk about how much money he has or how smart about wrestling he is. And it’s become really noticeable the more time that goes by and the things he says. He wants to portray himself as the good guy and the underdog but whenever he feels he’s being slighted has to lash out and tell people to take him seriously. And the benefit of the doubt he got for awhile is wearing out at this point.
I think some of the stuff he says isn’t truly malicious as much as he just isn’t a good communicator and isn’t the best socially. But at a certain point people get tired of making excuses for things he keeps doing like lashing out at people or talking up how big of a threat he is to the WWE. You just can’t be the underdog but also a big threat to be worried about. You’re one or the other and he keeps trying to be both. And at this stage people are starting to just feel like he’s a spoiled kid who isn’t able to deal with not having his way. And he seems incapable of ever seeing where criticisms directed towards him are coming from and thinks they’re just unfair attacks.
Take his interview with Ariel for example. The issue with that interview wasn’t that he couldn’t discuss things because of pending legal issues. People can understand that. The issue was that if he knew he couldn’t discuss any of those things then he either shooodnt do the interview at all or at minimum should’ve communicated his stance to Ariel beforehand so Ariel could make a decision about whether to have the interview. But I think we all recognize that he didn’t do that because he knew that if he communicated that up front then Ariel probablt wouldn’t have had the interview. So instead he made sure the interview happened so he could promote his company but spent the entire time avoiding anything of substance and creating a complete waste of time. And doing things like that makes him look bush league.

Because Triple H probably aproached Ariel before the interview with a bunch of topics he would want to avoid. That's fair and is a common practice before interviews.
But as Ariel underlined here Tony Khan DID NOT do that but then he acts surprised that he was asked the about the hottest topic in wrestling right the .

I don't feel bad for Tony at all. Its his own fault for everything.
I think what TK meant in his reference to Schiavone was his attempt at being funny. In his head I think he was saying “Ariel is as legitimate of a reporter as this guy who works for me who isn’t a reporter is”. And I think in his mind it was a way to make a joke, stir up controversy and reference someone who is going to be on his show that’s coming up. I could also see him thinking that people will tune in now and see what Schiavone says about what’s happening and rip into Ariel. But as is common with a lot of the tweets TK puts out it just came across as super lame and childish.
He has already been upset at Ariel for awhile anyways. He was upset when Ariel had MJF on his show. And then he was upset when Ariel kept pushing him during their interview on his show. And then he was mad about what Ariel said about how bad the interview was. So seeing Ariel on smackdown is just another thing for him to be upset about that’s really silly. Because let’s be real TK would be more than happy having ariel appear on one of the AEW shows like ariel did on smackdown. He doesn’t actually want Ariel to be unbiased like he’s saying he just wants him to be pro AEW and anti WWE. But ironically ariel has been incredibly fair about both companies for a really long time but TK can just never deal with somebody actually embracing both companies. He wants people to love AEW and sing its praise only.

He was a walking hyperbole machine 1:22 turns out he was miserable at this point but I still remember even as a kid it was so gd annoying hearing how everything was the “greatest match/night in the history of wrestling” it actually made watching less fun. He single handedly obliterated any semblance of stakes in his short run & MNW. That’s what many people are referring to with any negative connotations re: Tony. There was nothing legitimate about his on mic presence.

The reason Ariel and Tony have beef is because when Ariel had Tony on his show, Ariel later complained that Tony was a 'difficult' guest because he wouldn't divulge certain information, like CM punk's status. Ariel said nothing about the fact that Tony stayed longer than he needed to; Tony was animated and talked at length about all kinds of interesting things. From what I saw, Tony was a great interview, but Ariel discredited everything Tony brought to the table and just focused on the fact that he wouldn't talk about a couple of things...I like Ariel but he acted ungrateful to Tony in what he did.
Tony didn't answer a single question....not one...don't tell me he couldn't cuz of legal reasons either
