    I do both, but I interlock like every 3 months, and retwist every 6 weeks in between interlocking. My hair grows super fast this way. I have started my loc journey in sept 2017. And I love my hair!!!

    Pros:
    Free Time, No Products Needed, Work Out Whenever, Minimal/No Build Up, Wash Your Hair More Often
    Cons:
    Possibly Interlock too tight, No Uniform Loc/Bumpy, Can Cause Thinning If Too Tight, Holes in Your Loc If You Interlock in the Same Spot Repeatedly, Time Consuming

    If I forget where I left off with my 2pt rotations, I go diagonal then return to my 2 pt rotations. guaranteed no holes.

      I did starter locs with 2 strand twist and want to continue with palm roll as I heard interlock doesn’t allow your hair to swell. My hair is so fine and thin so very worried about this. People are telling me to start over but I have around 100 in my hair and really don’t want to. Should I just continue with interlock but do 2 point? What would you advise

    I fell in love with interlocking. I found that twist method would only look good styled for two weeks. Then when I took the style done I had little stringy locs. The interlock looks much more full on me and my ends are curly. I don't mind the frizz since it looks so natural.

    This video is on point. I love interlocking for the same reasons and the cons are definitely true! But one you mentioned about the "bumpy/wavey look, I actually like it🙈 lol

      @KailaJ  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks! I actually like the bumpy/wavy look as well. But it is a complaint I hear often from people who interlock.

    • @sebatamotaung4721
      @sebatamotaung4721 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does the wavy/ bumpy look go away with time? I have medium large locs and also did my first interlock due to unravelling as soon as the following day with retwisting. However, I quickly noticed the bumps after completing a few interlocks and wondered if this will go away with time.

      If you’re experiencing a non uniformed look in your locks while interlocking, try evaluating your tension going forward. All of my interlocking clients have uniformed locks so I’ve never heard of a bumpy look until this video.

    I decided to interlock yesterday. I did half. Gonna finish the rest today. I keep retwisting with wax every month then eventually it just unravels and it’s a headache. Interlock is longer then retwisting but it’s so worth it.

    When I retwist it last every bit of 2 or 3 days at the most and then here comes the frizz (almost 3 months loc'd). Interlocking might take 4 hrs but it's worth it, it seems to last wayyy longer.

    4 years locked and I interlocked once about 2 years ago. Biggest pro to me, other than aforementioned, is I go long periods in between retwists and my new newgrowth tends to stray. Interlocking allowed me to incorporate all the newgrowth into my locs. Con, the knot that is still visible about 6 inches away from my scalp.

    Unfortunately interlocking wasn’t for me it caused a lot of damage to my Locs and I didn’t like the flat look it gave them. I’ve had my Locs for many many years now so I have been through lots of changes in terms of techniques etc. I don’t retwist as much as I used to preferring semi free-forming so my Locs has breaks from manipulation. This has worked best for me I also workout 🏋🏽‍♂️ so my retwist don’t last hence why I Semi Freeform most of the time. For me less is more....I do understand why some people choose interlocking yours look great! 👌🏾 thanks for sharing. 😊

      Frizz in the beginning stage of locs is pretty normal. But if you feel it’s looking frizzier than normal then I would suggest wrapping those loose hairs around the loc until they get a bit more accustomed to being in there new style. Hope that helps... best of luck to you😊
