Thanks for the review, Kevin. I've had this a a staple on my shelf for a few years now. Get's so much better as you get down the bottle. The last pour was spectacular, thick, juicy and even had a little sediment at the bottom of the glass! Cheers!
Hi Kevin new to your channel as iam just starting to get into my whisky I have been looking at the Deanston I also liked your video on the Lidl malts wondered if you have tried lidls Abrachan it is labelled as peaty and Smokey but I just don’t get those coming through this whisky it’s only £16 a bottle so maybe iam expecting to much keep up the good work and iam working my way through your past videos Slang
Have to say that every time I see or hear anything Deanston related, it takes me right back to our fantastic distillery visit my friend ❤. Thanks for this review Kevin and that pic you took holding the bottle and glass was stellar (also didn't realize our glasses had Warehouse No.4 on them 😆).
I picked up a bottle of this at Glasgow airport for £35, in this day and age it’s a bargain. I had a similar reaction to you, left it a few weeks and it really opened up, fantastic dram.
Good stuff Kevin, always better to front up if the spirit isn’t blowing you away. Heineken bought Distell’s South African wine business, but the spirit side for some reason has stayed with the South Africans, hence Deanston, Buna and Tobermory are still in the same hands.
This has opened up for sure, fruitier notes coming through with a lingering honey, barley note. Really good mouthfeel as well, I didn’t love this at the start but I’ve found myself reaching for it more often now… I’ll maybe do another review soon of my thoughts to see how much had changed from the first impression

I enjoy Deanston! Great review and happy weekend! 🥃😊
I had a bottle of their brandy cask finish whiskey and it was just beautiful. I wish I had bought more bottles of it.
Great review Kevin and a bottle I will look to purchase in the future. Slainte 🥃
Great point about wine maturation and peated whisky, also a good idea to let the whisky breath before the review.
Great content Kevin.

It seems like a distant memory now.
I hope to see you again
Never had this one, but had the 9 yo cask strength Bordeaux cask matured, and that was an absolute peach. Slainte Kevin!

Think I saw this one in duty free for around £35 which seemed pretty good value.
Another interesting review. We’ll done, now go out the heat on
good job Kev....
