So happy that you're back! Some of the best Buffy reactions on TH-cam and sometimes people take a break and disappear forever, so it's nice to see you're still interested in making great content!
Willow's dream dialogue is French for "the hippo stole your trousers" - it's an early sign that the dream has prophetic elements, because it's referencing Willow and Oz's "monkey pants" conversation, which Buffy wasn't there for and presumably doesn't know about.
@@Buffy8Fan It's possible, but Buffy's French is terrible, so the fact that Willow is saying it in French (and Buffy doesn't seem to understand it) suggests to me that this is precognitive.
@@Talisguy Also possible, but brains also allow for anything to be possible in a dream. I once interpreted a language I don't know in a dream; so take that as you will.
In a sense, the curse does punish both Angel (with a soul) and the demon, call it Angelus. Angel remembers everything his body did as though he'd done it, so he feels the guilt and remorse. Angelus, the demon trapped inside, doesn't feel the guilt - but it must be truly frustrating for it to be trapped inside a body but no longer able to wreak havoc using it, instead just there watching as Angel tries to do good.
Welcome back! It's mentioned in the first episode, and couple other places as well I believe, but prophetic dreams are part of the Slayer package. Although, since they are, well...DREAMS, and therefore not very direct communication, they have a spotty record in terms of usefulness lol.
Dream sequences always played a big part in The Buffyverse. We could see Buffy's prophetic dreams re: harm coming to Angel. This episode Surprise, is where this show really starts to seriously pick up regarding the arc of the Season. We see Jenny being visited by her strange uncle looking for revenge. The excitement from Drusilla and Spike when The Judge comes back to life is great. Buffy on her birthday gets her Surprise party, Oz steals the show, and is just so laid back when Willow explains to him about everything. Without doubt the coolest character in The Buffyverse. The title Surprise is still coming to Buffy, we see her losing her virginity to Angel here, but see Angel in such pain in the rain at the end after what has happened. There is of course a sinister reason for this. This is really a two-parter with E14 which is just exceptional, where all is revealed. From now on the show really does improve so much and goes like a roller coaster, you can just see it getting slicker and more polished.
Yay! Glad you back, was missing your gorgeous face and lovely Aussie accent! You: "Does that mean that Willow has to have a monkey?" Me: Hmmm...maybe Oz IS the monkey?
It's so good to have you back. Some really great theories you were throwing out there. Loved the Astarion clip. I have forced familiarity with him due to my offspring's obsession. In this house we stan Goostarion. Honk.
Has been a couple of weeks since I checked, but when i saw there were new reactions I had to put my paltop down very carefully before I then ~ leapt up to turn the light on so that I could type properly (deciding not to correct my typo) and make myself something to eat so that I can watch them properly. The Jabberwock is back! One is moderately pleased about this ;-) kerk
It's so funny. This one is full of feelings he reads😂😂 then the judge burns him poor vamp😂 the cladagh ring it's history and back story is from Ireland. What angel was saying about the ring is true. They are so beautiful. I gave my girlfriend one last year, and she still wears it. A silver one and her birthstone is the heart.
I suppose if the people who did the curse know all about the demon possessing a persons body part, which seems to be knowledge people who know about vampires can find out since Giles and the watchers know it commonly enough to say it in early season 1, then they probably see what they did to Angel/Angelus as punishing the human part for being the canvas/vessel the demon was able to do so much damage with and then punishing the demon part by locking it in a cage where it has to watch Angel moping about for eternity.
When they put the soul back into Angelus' body, they are punishing the person, but also trapping the demon inside that person which to the demon, when it comes to a person like Angel, must be torture.
You: "You could die tomorrow. You could die tomorrow. You could die from something completely unrelated." Me: Heck, you could die from a toilet seat falling out of the sky! 😉
Describing what's going on here as "post-nut clarity" is both hilarious and, by a certain perspective, hilariously accurate.

We may not have seen Willow tell Buffy, but I feel Willow would have told Buffy about that conversation. Doesn't mean the dream isn't prophetic.

'Post nut clarity' - now I want to use that in a sentence in the next couple of days. Lovely to see your Buffy 'verse reactions back.
The way Oz asks Willow out is just enormously cute
She's BAAAA-AAACK!! Happy to see you! :)

The upside down lampshade was a fad for a while at that time.
How cool is it when your electronics realize the greatness that is you and compliment you randomly?
Glad you are back. Starting with this the rest of this season is still my favorite part of the whole show.

Great to see more of your reactions to Buffy. So close, so close to being right! Looking forward eagerly to the next reaction.
Glad to see you back! Hope all is well in real life. Excellent bingo card.
So happy to have you back❤❤❤❤❤
Loved this reaction
Spike definitely adapted, but stopped at the 90s (when rock died, his interest in new music died).

Happy to see you back and reacting to this!!
Lovely to see you again, best reaction thus far!!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I LOVE Oz reaction to finding out about vampires. This show does great when it recognizes how absurd that school and town is
I don't have to much of an issue with the vampire age, but Angel was 26 when he turned...

32:00 "You good?"
Not in either sense, no. :( I'd heard of f*cking someone's brains out before, but this one was new.
