    I know this is an old video but I had a remedy for the stuff pillow balls on the top hats I had the same issue with the springs turning. I removed the top hat and used a nut and bolt and placed it in my drill and broke in the pillow balls. It fixed the issue entirely!!

      @@AtomicGarage did a full tear down of the damper cartridge if you wanna see its guts. might be able to make these decent with a few mods.

  • @E-1stYT
    @E-1stYT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a set for my 300zx yellow MPR with dampening and I've done a few mods to them one I've added rubbers between the springs and I've also added rubber to the top of them and also greased the pillow ball. This has helped with everything and has also made them more comfortable and last way longer. I feel people will just hate on them because of a country or brand which is a shame because these are comfy if set to stock its only when u lowered bomb your car your taking that hit not only to the coilover but the rest of your suspension as well like camber arms, tie rods and endlinks which is why I will forever be keeping my car stock or a little under to fit.

    just found this video. ive had these coils n my 240 for atleast 2 years now. no issues besides the knocking sound when turning sometimes and just a bit stiff. other than that theres no cracks or anything faulty. for that price you can pick up a pair and still be under budget. driven my car on long trips, drifted it plenty of times and i daily it..coilovers are still holding up feeling like the day i through them on. there is def a difference in better products but even ebay coils hold up

    only thing i gotta say about your videos is the power in your voice is intimidating, not necessarily a bad thing tho it really pulls your attention and sets you out from the rest and those are two really good things. But it also heightens my anxiety idk if anyone else gets that but i'm put into a little more of a fight or flight mode, i got used to it quickly tho. 8/10 from me

    If anyone still need some tips for these specific coilovers, then I can add some tips :
    *camber plates there are fault number one, what cause camber plate turning together with spring, and there can hear that unlikely sound...
    Fix for that from my experience is to use specific oil for centrifugation parts(in my case Wurth HHS Fluid) or chainsaw chain oil, or anything with results with hand moving uniball joint.
    *There can also combine with HSD/BC inner shocks and springs too (not actually tested by myself)
    *Good thing is to use coilover socks if car is using in winter period or in dusty conditions (from my experience after some winters coil regulation is still possible by hand freely).
    *Stock top mounts didn't fit right away (oem inner diameter 14mm) , and for msr is 15mm (but can adjust to fit).
    *If can get special tool/build one to get out inner shock when it end life, then there is options to search for branded shocks from other cars searched by dimensions to fit close enough(gas ones).
    Peace !

    I have these maxspeedrods coilovers on a Subaru 09 Forester ... Running low with 18 wheels and looks pretty nice. I just installed them today with a friend of mine, who did a great job... Tomorrow will check alignment and wanted to adjust the dampening but is something I haven't able to find quality information... I purchase them again because I ran them 3 years ago on a GC8 wrx Sti JDM Impreza V4 Rally... The Forester is my daily and so far it feels real good... Except that they are still a lil harder on the absorption and that's the part I need more info as if I am not wrong that goes with the dampening. On the GC8 they are still installed but thats a weekends car and sometimes drags battles... lol 😂 is there a way you can make a video about maxspeedrods dampening? Thanks for all your information here! Well done 👍
