he's a real sweetheart helped me out when i was sick and homeless in brattleboro like ten years ago. him and his friends practically saved my life ha. really genuinely talented and funny guy.
Floored by all the other stories of kicking dope habits... Clean for 3 months after a yearlong bender after 4 or 5 years clean. Thanks for sharing and exposing your heart Pat, maybe I'd be here without you but I wouldn't be who I want to be. Solidarity forever y'all
Pat the Bunny ~ Hank Williams I think Pat does a great job here. Hank would only want to be covered in earnest. Pat does a great job with a song that has had so many variable renditions
34 years not sober, till the wheels fall off, the car explodes, an asteroid destroys the earth, I'll be soaring through space nodded out with crack pipe in hand. I'm so lonesome I could cry.....
there's not a single other artist who does this song justice, not even hank Jr or cash. would've never expected pat to cover this song, but I'm soooo glad he did
Same honestly I just seen that Pat did a Hank Williams cover I was shocked I used to always say that I listen to everything the pat ever made but this really prove me wrong
Hear that lonesome whippoorwill He sounds too blue to fly The midnight train is whining low I'm so lonesome I could cry I've never seen a night so long When time goes crawling by The moon just went behind the clouds To hide its face and cry Did you ever see a robin weep When leaves began to die? Like me, he's lost the will to live I'm so lonesome I could cry The silence of a falling star Lights up a purple sky And as I wonder where you are I'm so lonesome I could cry
He sings it a little different, I think it's more like that Hear that lonesome whippoorwill He seems too blue to fly The midnight train is whining low I'm so lonesome I could cry I've never known a night so long When time goes crawling by The moon has ducked behind a cloud To hang its head and cry Have you ever seen a robin weep As leaves begin to die? That means he lost the will to live I'm so lonesome I could cry And the silence of a falling star Lights up a purple sky And as I wonder where you are I'm so lonesome I could cry
Hank Williams Sr is one of my hands down favourite song writers aside from the religious jesus stuff. Its very amazing to see pat the bunny cover my most favourite Hank song. I grew up on Hank and Johnny and Loretta and Charley and Conway. This made me smile a genuine smile. Thank you Pat and Fist!
Uline bubble mailers...man the thought of those make me tear up. I mean the intensity and emotion they put into their shipping products is unfathomable.
I'm a huge Hank fan in my opinion pat the bunny comes close to his level, both are able to sing directly from there heart, listening to hank or pat it feels like its there soul there channeling
Honestly this is a hell of a cover- it brings a hugely original twist while maintaining the quality of the song. Great job Pat, seriously. Johnny cash covered this song, and I think you did better. Isn't that weird?
+Cody Hicks It's basically Am, F, and G. I think he throws in some A9 chords in some parts too, might be a couple of Asus or Am7's. But take that as a starting point and listen to the song a lot, watch his hands, and you should be able to figure it out.
Just watched it, my friend. I'm off to listen to a Bakunin audiobook, prompted by just ONE of the many things discussed therein. Thanks to the very thought-provoking exchange, I've got enough to ponder and explore for the next week, and beyond. Hope all who watch enjoy... Thanks, Pat, for such a transparent and un-selfconscious introduction to the person who is Pat the Bunny!
I need this as a free download pretty pleeeeease! seeing as your vinyls are now sold the fuck out! wtf waaaah! but seriously. digital download, anybody?
really? I thought it was beautiful. He pretty well captured the emotion behind the song which is always more important than technical prowess when it comes to art. Of course, beauty is subjective.

Couldn't agree more, Pat was the light during my darkest days.
+Mizz Nunez Thank you for sharing that. Much love

So glad Pat is sober now.
Listened to Pat way before I got into any of the Hank Williams, so amazing coming back now and realizing it was a cover!
Same! I went from Mountain goats to Pat the Bunny to Hank Williams, and they're all great versions of this song
Same honestly I just seen that Pat did a Hank Williams cover I was shocked I used to always say that I listen to everything the pat ever made but this really prove me wrong

So many country artist don’t understand the emotional depth it takes to cover this song but a folk singer nails it 👏🤘🏻🤘🏻
Uline bubble mailers...man the thought of those make me tear up. I mean the intensity and emotion they put into their shipping products is unfathomable.
Pat changed my life in so many ways. I love hank williams but pat captured the emotion of this song so perfectly it is my FAVORITE VERSION
I didn’t think there could be a cover that would do the song justice but this cover is amazing!

Damn, that was awesome and I love the original so much! Ashamed to admit it but I only discovered this because it auto-played after some other stuff.

What guitar is pat playing in this video? I love it
He is playing an Epiphone PR-5E Acoustic Electric. Cost around 250.
Anyone know what chords he put together for this??
im looking for them too
Am F Am G I think he switches up the order of it some but thats the basic progression
does any one know how to play his version of this song? I've looked up so many different ways to play it and none of them sound similar.
+Cody Hicks It's basically Am, F, and G. I think he throws in some A9 chords in some parts too, might be a couple of Asus or Am7's. But take that as a starting point and listen to the song a lot, watch his hands, and you should be able to figure it out.
+Blashyrkh1993 Scratch the Am7's part, pretty sure it's Asus chords.
for the love of christ please tell me you interviewed him.
+josh bock they did. If you just look to your right.

Fuck! He did such an amazing job; vocals run right through me!

A minor, F & G minor. He is also fretting the G on the high E string with the minor A chord.
I need this as a free download pretty pleeeeease! seeing as your vinyls are now sold the fuck out! wtf waaaah! but seriously. digital download, anybody?
Emily T youtube-mp3.org
Anyone know what type of guitar he's playing?
+Wolf the Bunny epiphane PR-5 acoustic electric
Fuck me why does he have to be done :(
I hope Pat isn't suicidal. This is the second sad song I've heard today.
Disturbing.
He really butchered it.
you like some pretty crappy music and bands though.
absolutely horrible
you seem to be in the minority, kiddo
really? I thought it was beautiful. He pretty well captured the emotion behind the song which is always more important than technical prowess when it comes to art. Of course, beauty is subjective.
@@mushroomsamba82 some people want covers to to sound exactly like the original. Which is silly.
