Keeps honest people honest. The cheap locking mechanism is disappointing for the price. Reaks of cheap Chinese.
that buckle is so thin metal. seems like anyone can easily cut it off with basic tool....
That's not the point. Anyone can steal pretty much anything with enough effort. You can never prevent it 100%, but most thieves are opportunists and this prevents quick snatch and grabs which is how most helmets end up stolen. Sure, someone could cut the strap or the buckle and make the helmet useless but that would defeat the purpose.

had this happen to me. scumbags dont care if the helmet is useless or not. to crackheads they just see a free helmet regardless if the straps are there or not.
Harley helmets are inexpensive, plus everybody is afraid to steal them. No lock required.
