    Reminds me of the flying I did in Afghanistan, and the Blue Mountains/Cascades! Great video!!

      Yeah, this part of the country looks a lot like Afghanistan from what people have told me. What were you flying there?

    Awesome. I miss those days when I was learning to fly an Enstrom in Colorado.

      That's cool, Mark! One of the guys that made me want to make some videos is Bruno Vassel. You may have seen his channel too. Long videos of glider flights out of Nephi, some of them all the way to the Tetons and back--your territory. I'd just put them on while working late. Have fun with the add-on, whole different kind of flying, which i'm sure you'd enjoy.

    Hi Chris. Just came across this video and really loved it. Nice how you explain wind patterns. I have been to that area many times and one of my favorite. Hiked all over the Sawtooths. You should fly around those mountains some. I did in a Cessna 210. You must be a very nice guy and what a life. I live in Joseph, Oregon. Check it out on the web and see how beautiful it is here in N E Oregon. The Eagle Cap Wilderness is beautiful. Where do you live. Also, I love southern Utah with all the redrock country. Maybe we could meet at the Joseph airport. Thanks for sharing. You should put more videos on TH-cam like this.

      Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! I love that whole area around the Sawtooths. We made it back to Smiley Creek and Johnson’s Creek last summer along with a few other spots up there. Looking forward to warmer weather to get back again this year! I live in Salt Lake City, flying out of Skypark (BTF). Make it to a few places in S Utah occasionally- Mexican Mountain is great! I may be up your direction at some point this summer- probably in my old Mooney though rather than the Enstrom. Thanks again!

    Hey you're not Cogbox anymore? Loved the video and commentary. My motorcycle was whispering we need to explore some of those roads :)

    • @transition4908
      @transition4908  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, still Cogbox. But, that was the name of my old company. Transition 4 was what I did afterwards so I thought I’d use that.
      There would definitely be some cool riding to do up there! When I stopped in McCall I saw a lot of riders going through town.

    I've flown the F28 for a couple years, but without a governor. Does yours have one? I'm down in Idaho Falls area.

    • @transition4908
      @transition4908  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, no governor. I believe they just announced availability of a governor for the piston Enstroms at the last HAI. The no governor seems to scare some people away from them, but I find it to be a non-issue once you get used to it. What do you think?

    Love ghs video but why can't don't they plant back trees

    • @transition4908
      @transition4908  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of the pine forests burned by fire will grow back over time. If you hike through an area like that there will be many seedlings that sprout post-fire - if that is what you’re asking.

    How much of a maintenance hog is the Enstrom? I've had some people tell me its not bad other than the TT straps, and others who say they spend more time in the shop than they do in the air.

    • @transition4908
      @transition4908  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've experienced both sides of it. Generally they are pretty easy on the maintenance and since there are very few calendar limited parts (exceptions are TT straps, which are every 5 years on pistons) you're basically paying for the time you're actually flying. My problem came from my local heli maintenance shop always putting me at the back of the line -- the worst was it sitting in annual for 8 months as there was always something more important to do (they ran an air ambulance fleet). And, while good, they were not familiar with Enstroms so the track and balance was always hit or miss.
      Last time I had Michael Dixon come out to do the annuals for my ship and another local guy with a 480. He's been associated with Enstrom for many years. Even with travel it was about the same price I was paying before.
      The maintenance in-between your annuals is mostly just lubrication, oil, and some checks at the 50 hr. How you're going to get your maintenance done is something I would definitely recommend investigating before you get into one though. And, it will cost more than fixed wing.
