Outstanding! You are so clear and concise and easy to follow Mel. You have made a fan with this guy. When I think of how I wasted money and time in the past. Never again! Thank you!
i find it hard to believe that you guys - you tubers - read and answer comments; however, here I go! After watching your videos over and over and over again, i was able to find a flight from LAX to Panama city for 15,000 miles with flying blue that took me to Copa - capital one does not have copa, so do I transfer to flying blue??? Please and thank you! You are definitely the best and most clear!!!
Haha I am very happy to answer your comment 😃 If the flight is on the Air France website for 15,000 miles (you're looking at it on Air France site and not the Copa site), then yes, you transfer the points to Air France. They sell seats on their partner airlines' planes too so that's why you are able to buy it there. You can call Air France and they will hold the flight for you while you transfer points, so maybe you should do that so the availability doesn't disappear. Then you transfer the points, wait for them to appear, and then call back to purchase. Hope this helps! :)
Amazing video and I appreciate the help. $200 on taxes and fees seems pretty high, Is that normal across the board? Or is it specific to the example in this video?
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful. Unfortunately, the high taxes and fees are pretty standard for Flying Blue, and European carriers in general. And it's always worse for Business Class than for Economy, as expected.
Yes, they definitely should be able to transfer there. Create a Flying Blue account and make sure your name is the same for both the Flying Blue account and your AMEX account, and you should be all set to go once you've found a flight and are ready to transfer 😃
Glad to have you here! Which part isn’t working? If you’re talking about the calendar, I heard that has recently been acting up and you should instead enter the last available date on the calendar. This should bring up the monthly calendar view as before! :)
Hi! Hoping you can answer this because I’m scared I’ll get an agent that doesn’t know how to do the free stopovers. I’m looking for a flight from GVA - CDG - city in USA (stopover in CDG). When I look at flights, do I book the day we would fly out of GVA to get to Paris? Then ask for stopover for a couple days and they will rebook last leg of my flight from CDG to USA on the day we want to leave? Thank you!
You can't book both segments and then have them change it like that. You need to book all 3 segments at the same time and find saver award availability for all 3 segments (I'm assuming you are using points). I hope that makes sense. Don't be worried about calling and asking. The agents are usually pretty good! Good luck!! :)
When booking for 2 people using points, does each person need to have the necessary points in their Flying Blue account or can person have all the points to use for the tickets? After watching your video, it sounds calling Air France to hold the seats and then calling them back once the Flying Blue points are transferred over.
One person can book for two people with their points. That's no problem at all. Also, yes Air France is great about holding your reservation while you transfer points. Hope this helps! 😁
I’m trying to book a trip for my family via Flying blue but it said I can’t use my points for my kids. Do I have to create account for each kid and transfer my points to them? Thanks!
You should be able to book your kids through your own account. I’ve never encountered that issue, so I’m not sure why you received that message. I suggest that you call them and ask how to proceed. Good luck! Hopefully it will work out for you! :)
You can technically book Delta domestic flights, but to be honest, there's very limited award availability for these flights, so it's not terribly useful.
I just tried to view award points by calendar view by leaving the dates blank but it's then nothing shows up as in the calendar doesn't display anything. The website has no problem showing all the flights when I switch to booking with cash. Any tricks to this?
Hmmm without seeing exactly what you’re doing, it’s hard for me to tell. I don’t think you need points in your account to search for award availability, but I can’t test that because I have points in my account at the moment. You could try clearing your cache and cookies to see if that helps. Or try a different browser? I’m sorry I can’t give you a more specific answer. I just checked to see if I could still search for award seats, and I can, so at least the website is still working. I would suggest trying the 2 steps above. You could also call to check on availability, but I know that’s never fun 😅
You have to have points but you could confirm by calling Flying Blue. I found the reward levels too high for a casual flyer. Luck was better just casually checking flights over time until there was a huge price drop when world events lowered the price.

I’m so happy to hear that! Helping others learn this fun and lucrative game is my goal! 😄
Very helpful and very clearly explained and demonstrated. Thanks!

why is my name morselsthecat
Thank you!! ♥️ I'm glad the video was helpful but I have no answer as to why your name is morselsthecat 😅😂😂

I hope my Amex platinum card can transfer the points to FB.

Love this video!!
I'm so glad! 🥰
Good tutorial!
Thanks!
I recently booked a 2025 KLM award flight on the Air France website. I noticed the KLM website was charging $20 more in taxes.
So strange! I’ve never heard of that happening. Good to know though so thank you for sharing your experience!
Thanks Mel’s miles
♥️♥️♥️
Great video! I have subscribed to your channel. This doesn’t work anymore. At least not for me. Did they fix the loophole?

@@MelsMilesandPoints Thanks! This works great. I've already used it to book great flights AMS-MNL-AMS in J.
@@rstocker67 so glad it helped! Have a great trip!

can you book domestic US flights on flying blue? i only hear about booking flights to Europe
You are supposed to be able to book domestic Delta flights, but to be honest, availability is not great.
Do I have to transfer points right away after checking which flight to take?
You should because otherwise the availability might disappear. I usually call in and ask them to hold the flight while I transfer my points 😄

how to book stop over flight like iad - cdg - london in a single booking ?
I explain this in the video, starting at 8:47. Hope this helps! 😄
can i book domestic usa flights here
You can technically book Delta domestic flights, but to be honest, there's very limited award availability for these flights, so it's not terribly useful.
Does capitak one have trabsfer bonus?
They aren’t offering transfer bonuses to Flying Blue right now, but that changes over time, so it’s best to keep checking.
can promo rewards and free stopover be stacked?
Yes you should be able to stack them!:)
I just tried to view award points by calendar view by leaving the dates blank but it's then nothing shows up as in the calendar doesn't display anything. The website has no problem showing all the flights when I switch to booking with cash. Any tricks to this?
Are you logged into your Flying Blue account? If you’re not, then that is the problem.
Yes, I'm logged in. I have 0 points in there since I haven't transferred points yet. Is that the problem?

Can I transfer 50k points and split that between 2 flights?
Once you transfer the points, you can do anything you like with them! 😄
