- A 6 year old Tetramorium colony, 10,000+ workers strong. The setup utilizes several AntsCanada products, although many of them are quite old (some are actually prototypes we were working on and testing out.

I feed them dubia roaches, shredded wheat cereal, fish flakes, honey and sugar water. - ตลก
Wow, they are really big, we also have a pavement ant colony that's in the 1000s, they grow really fast.
No way it's you!!!!
Awesome video would lvoe to see the updated version of this 3 years later haha
This ant colony is very large and the setup looks good. It's a very nice video, I'm looking forward to more content. Ciao Anttlantis
Wow I might get my own colony this s amazing
Remember it takes time! Be patient and hibernate them properly
Amazing colony, I really like the setup!
Come back dude! Love these videos
So thats why you call them TETRAmorium ants then?! Cos you feed them Tetrafin 😅🐠🐜. Cool setup too btw 😎
They’re so big!
Being that tetramorium immigrans workers can live up to 5 years and even 6-7 years recorded in captivity, it's crazy to think that, if this colony is still alive, that a lot of the workers born when this video was made, might still be alive
How is this colony doing today? Are they still alive??
Congratulations!
Great video love the setup
1:52 queen
Ooper, what do you feed them and how many times a week do you feed them?
I feed them dubia roaches, shredded wheat cereal, fish flakes, honey and sugar water.
@@Ooper01 Thank you so much!
Have they started producing Males and Females yet? Well I got the answer if I would have waited a few seconds, great looking colony.
;)
@@Ooper01 Do they???
@@A-Gutierreeezz I haven't seen any alates produced from this colony yet.
@@A-Gutierreeezz Looks like someone else had logged on to this computer, so that last comment from Jared Barnett was really me :) I should have checked first.
doese queen have a physogastry?
Cool ant colony
People who saw the queen

Also, do you hibernate them?
No I don't hibernate them. The setup is too large to try to deal with hibernation.
@@Ooper01 Thank you for your answers!
3:36 😅 I knew it looked like you didn't see the Queen, because when we see her starting at 1:52 you didn't say anything!
From a tetramorium immigrans colony I have, the workers of my colony look a lot like the workers of your colony so I think those may be tetramorium immigrans
Yes I believe you are correct.
Do you have multiple Queens? Or am I thinking of a different ant species?
Tetramorium can have multiple queens during the founding stage, but as soon as the first set of workers arrive, they will kill all but one queen.
Ok good to know
I just caught 2 queens and have them both in the same tube, q week after catching id say there is about 30-50 eggs+
So it would be q good idea to move one out before the workers come

New sub. Great vid.
Nice!
Wish I could afford ants canada equipment. The shipping prices are extremely high when you live in europe.
I know. I hate that the shipping is so expensive outside the USA. Everything ships from the USA, so it makes it cost prohibitive for everyone else :(
What kind of substrate do you use in the humidity compartement?
I originally didn't have any substrate there. Over time, they brought in sand from the out world.
How are they doing today?
I haven't seen the queen in quite some time. I'm wondering if she relocated into one of the Outworlds. I also rehoused them in a smaller Hybrid Mini. Something caused a massive amount of death in the colony in the original larger Hybrid Nest. They are beginning to recover now.
@@Ooper01 Oh that's not good, I hope they recover fully, it would be nice to see a maximum sized colony in captivity
how much queens?
Just one queen. She's been alive this whole time and laid all the eggs to produce all these workers.
6 years, and the queen hasnt died, or did you get a new queen??!?
Same, original queen -- still going strong! ;)
They can live for over 20 years 🤓🐜🐜💚
Hi
Hi Ants Yorkshire! Hope your colonies are thriving!
Only 10k?? After 6 years i would have a million
Absolutely. You would.
