Peyton & Eli Manning break down what led up to the "Helmet Catch" and the play itself in the New York Giant's Super Bowl 42 win over the New England Patriots. Hear Eli spill some tea about the practices leading up to the Super Bowl and more!

Playoff Eli was something different. Good times.
“ I believe in Eli”
It was like he became the big brother and beat up his little brother's bully. Beautiful to watch.
The Brady killer if I’m not mistaken
@RomanoLemm
Eli did raise his game playoff time, but THIS was NOT 1 of those times! I hate to use luck as an explanation for anything, but when you get lucky 6 times on the same drive, then thats where I'll use it! He could/should have been picked off on the drive 4 times, the Asante Samuel drop being the closest. And this Tyree play has the luck of him escaping the rush-not 1 of Mannings strengths - and then the improbable catch (do give some credit to Tyree for holding on , but hes not catching that 8 out of 10 times )
If you want to point to Eli raising his game playoff time, Super Bowl 46 is a better example.
(and I like both Mannings- both are credits to the game, and are fun to listen to)
@@irar4665 show me where I pointed out he was the reason for this last drive to be successful. thank you.

Holy shit...these brothers are legendary. Love their love.
Bruh it’s insane both have 2 super bowls each. It’s accomplishment to make it as brothers in pro sports but to both make it be winners that’s crazy
As a life long Dolphin fan I am forever indepted to the Giants.
I said before that game that if the Giants won Super Bowl 42 I would cheer for them in every synerio that doesn't negatively impact the Dolphins.
Thank you New York.
As a steelers fan I couldn't agree with you more...
Yeah I’m pretty sure the giants have 75% of the afc East as fans every postseason

Good to see belichick shared his recordings of the giants practice from before the superbowl.
Probably the most clutch play ever?
For the Giants to beat the Patriots that day is a happy memory for sure!
I'm a Denver Broncos fan, but that catch epic!

Man, im telling you. Growing up as a Pats/Brady fan and HATING the mannings, has made me appreciate the sport and moments like this so much. I get to come back almost 15 years later to watch this moment in pure awe rather than the disgust I felt in the moment. Peyton and Eli were such great players. Also seeing the hits they took and how fast they play even though it looks so slow sometimes. I just really appreciate what the Manning's were and are still able to contribute to this sport. They are gold.
I couldn't disagree more, as a Steelers fan I would never willingly watch any highlights from Super Bowl 45.
How is your comment remotely relevant? And what is it you disagree with exactly?

I was in a sports book when that play happened. That place literally EXPLODED with cheers. Great memory. Watching the replays here, if Tyree had tried to catch it with just his hands, the defender likely would have knocked it loose. I hadn't realized he was able to get a hand on the ball. Truly one of the best plays in NFL history.
Kinda. Harrison tried to rip his arm off the ball not the ball out of his hand. Harrison got mossed big time
Maaann. As a Giant’s fan, these videos are what keeps me going these days. It’s been a rough 10 years, minus last year’s playoff win vs the Vikings.
3:56 best spiral you'll ever see, magical performance
Us Giants fans dearly miss Eli and especially Playoff Eli. That dude was something special
When that catch was made I just was in shock, couldn't utter a sound, and immediately knew they would win the game.
When Mr. Eli Manning & The N.Y. Giants won Super Bowl 42.....I truly believe that Mr. Eli would easily get into The Hall Of Fame in Canton, Ohio!!! # ELI 10 HOF!!! 🏈🎉🏈🎉🏈🎉
i hope so..just to see Skip choke on his own saliva!!!!
Greatest play ever. Shaking off tackle completing the throw. Definitely a HOF'er IMO

I love that Eli had the wherewithal to escape the sack, set his feet, THEN throw the pass. Had he tried some crazy, off balance throw, it probably would not have worked. One of my favorite plays all time, it still blows me away to this day!
Just ignore the most blatant holding calls ever commited by offensive linemen

As a Rams fan who watched this game as a kid I feel this is the greatest play in nfl history an the fact Eli got revenge for kurt warner an my 01 Rams by stabing the patriots in the heart making them 18-1
That was an awesome moment in super bowl history. Eli is the man.
The fact that a guy who hadn’t caught a TD all year AND dropped 7 passes the practice before the superbowl, ended up making the most memorable catch of all time is just incredible
I remember watching this game with my dad. I was only a kid at the time but damn it was so exciting! I remember us getting up and cheering so loud that my mom screamed at us to shut up cus we woke up my baby brother 😂
How sweet it was to snatch victory away from New england Super Bowl 42 was that team dreamed about perfection. The Giant's pulled off the perfect upset of all times .. I believe..
I remember watching the Giants hold their own against the Pats in Week 17 of that season. Once the Super Bowl match was set between both teams my gut told me the Giants would upset them. They were hungrier. If I hadn’t been a broke college kid I would have made a bet on them!
Best Super Bowl of all time and greatest clutch catch in Super Bowl history GO GIANTS!
I miss old football games. These games now are not the same.
90% of NFL fans were so happy the Giants pulled off that win!
I love the "Omaha!" at the end of these. It has just the right hysterical note to it;)
Oh what a day.
Best game ever
Die Hard Washington fan my entire life and yet the G-Mens run in this post season is still one of my top 3, would be 1 but homerism hurts that. It wasn't just this game, every game in the post season they were the underdogs and outplayed everyone else, that game against the Packers was awesome as well. Fucking Giants.
I just remember feeling bad for Junior Seau. He was the heart and soul of the chargers for so long. He retired, came back out of retirement to play with the pats and reunite with Rodney Harrison, a Former Charger and fan favorite for his hard hits. For chargers fans, the saving grace of losing the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP game vs the Patriots prior to this game… was that Junior would FINALLY get his ring after 20 years. But in one play…the game changed and it was on nine other than Rodney Harrison himself. It stung because they were great friends. And to make it worse, Junior was the one who decided to stay with the Call in man defense with no coverage over the top on the final TD. Rodney wanted to audible out and Junior…who’s known for going with instincts like Troy Polamalu…decided to stay with the play that coach called. In the End the Chargers lost. The Patriots lost. Rodney Lost. Junior lost. And then we lost Junior (RIP) 😢 and eventually even the Chargers themselves (To La).
this is huge part of the story!
That is a very long way of saying what we all know already and that is that Rodney Harrison is a scumbag dirty player that if he didn't take steroids would've never even played in the Canadian Football League.
I remember watching that game. 12 year old me celebrated so much for that win for the Giants. Now I'm 27 and I live with my parents. Pray for me yall.
Man, I love this channel, let’s go 18, you’re the man!
Goosebumps every time
The most mental thing I've ever seen in a sporting season with such an astounding play to end it. And my team......
The noise in my house has never been greater and that's having watched England in the 2005 and 2010 Ashes. My daughter was 1. She remembers. Go Eli and go big D. :)
Thanks Eli
I won a lot of money on this game in a straight up bet. For some reason i knew the giants had it. That throw to Burress to take the lead is one of the prettiest balls ive seen
As a Patriots fan, this was a great interview. It still hurts though, as Brady can attest. The GOAT tried for a perfect season for the next 15 ears and never ever came close although he did win a staggering 4 additional Super Bowls and 6 additional AFC championships since then.
I've been a NYG fan since 1985. The fact that I have to constantly hang my hat on "yeah but we got two SB's against Brady" whenever I get together with family and friends (who are either Cowboys, Eagles, Packers or 49ers fans) is one of many things that speak to Brady's greatness.
As much as I want to deny it, Brady is the GOAT......even though we're 2-0 against him in Super Bowls 😉
I remember where I was. At my boys crib and going out afterwards and celebrating something that will unlikely will ever happen in our lifetimes.
I will never forget where I was when I watched this game My father-in-law at the time told me to watch Tom Brady win the game I bet him a 100 bucks that Eli would score and win the game
Damnedest thing I’d ever seen since Super Bowl IV, which is the first one I truly remember.
Greatest play in football history in the greatest game in football history, SBXLII

Man Peyton little brothered the hell out of Eli.
the escape, the throw and the catch were all so crazy.
THAT!!!! WAS !!!!! SO !!!!!....FREAKING !!!! AWESOME !!!! , YEAH !!!!! BABY !!!!!😁
@omahaproductions Thank you for these videos Peyton. You're making me love football more than I already did ❤ 🏈
Watched your entire career. Huge fan of you as a player and even more after retiring. Thank you for adding this to your legacy. 🐐
I'll remember that catch and that game forever.
To my memory, I know of only one sports writer who predicted that the Giants would win that game: the sports anchor at WABC-TV Channel 7 in New York - I don't recall his name. Everyone else said the Patriots would be easy winners.
It's not a math test but the score definitely added up...good stuff!
And everybody continues to ignore the most forgotten chokejob in NFL history: Asante Samuel's dropped INT literally one play before that
Watching Chris Snee (#76) at 2:25 is super funny. He's standing there waiting for someone to block, meanwhile everyone's already behind him 😂
Both the Manning brothers are legendary. Glad we got to see greatness. Their stories are the best if you're a fan of football history.
That play is just stunning. Even if you’d scripted it it would have required 50+ takes to get right. So incredible!
Look, Eli's escape was miraculous, and Tyree's catch was unspeakably incredible. Even as a Patriots fan, I deeply appreciated the play in the moment. The determination, the grit--that Giants team was special, and they deserved the win. But the O-line absolutely mugged the Patriots defenders on that play. There are at least four flagrant holding calls; they were actually choking out defenders as they pursued Eli. I get letting the players play in the SB and most people will just call this bellyaching, but that absolutely should have been called back. Just look at 2:13; #60 is actually choking Richard Seymour, #69 manhandles Green from behind, #96 (I think that's Adalius Thomas but not sure) is clearly getting held...in that second, I think the only Pats defender who isn't held is Vrabel (#50). Then look at 2:16. Seymour is getting choked out and facemasked (#93). At 2:19, the same is true for Thomas. It's an amazing play by Eli and Tyree, but as much as people complain about the Tuck Rule--that was a correct interpretation of the rule at the time, even if the rule was BS (I agree that it was). This was a bad no-call on the same order as the non-interference calls against the Saints in recent years.
Objectively it should have been a booth review.
So at the time--and now--you would've have a booth review for a lack of a penalty flag. But I agree with you that the NFL should institute that for flagrant situations like this. This play determined a championship and unfortunately it should have been called back.@@jturner2577
In 2007, the Patriots were a machine. Eli winning that SB was awesome. Then he did it again 4 years later. If the Manning Bros weren't in the NFL, the Patriots and Brady might have won 10 Super Bowls.
Hands down top ten Super Bowl catches of all time.
The Pat’s were all over Eli. But he did not fold under their pressure
I've always been amazed at how quickly Eli could see Tyree, set feet, and throw...
Best Superbowl ever!!!!!
As a Colts fan, this win meant more to me than he Colts SB victory in 2006...i absolutely despise brady and the Pats...our 2006 AFC championship win is still the greatest moment for me as a Colts fan
Man. I have lived in indiana my whole life and I had to leave at halftime to go play a indoor soccer game. I didnt want to but my mom made me and I love playing soccer with a passion. My game ended as that game ended... brutal.
no matter what happens in my life i can die happy knowing I called the Giants in 07 bofore the season. Watched al the playoffs at my extended families houses and none of em ever believed in the underdog
Well I didn't cry but it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Peyton Manning and Omaha productions....his after football career life is BECOMING as impressive as his playing career...in fact, what an impressive family...GO MANNINGS!😁✌️
As a patriots fan i will never forget this. I sat in front of my TV in disbelief.
I hope Peyton and Eli are doing this into their 80s
That’s how I feel about the chiefs rn as a Seahawks fan 💙💚
Does anybody remember Assante Samuel should have made an interception on that drive?
I love seeing siblings talk…..it’s almost like they have their own planet
Man I never seen New York so happy, unified, and nice to one another when the Giants won the Super Bowl
I cried watchin this game lol! Won some money brady lost Eli won best day ever lol.
Him talking shit about his guard not doing shit is hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂
Just a few plays later Tyrie dropped a catchable ball even though it was tipped. The whole drive was intense. They had to convert a 4th and 1 and eli almost threw a pick to asanti samuels before the helmet catch.
I just remember me and my brothers fucking going insane!
when this happened i wanted the exact same 🧤 as #85
The fact that he almost shoveled it to his O-lineman is so funny
that play was amazing and that season was amazing for the giants. If I remwmber right, this was the year that the giants got in to the playoff as last, the worst record of all teams in the playoffs, to win it all. that was awesome
It kills me to say it as someone who really dislikes both the Patriots and the Giants, but that was probably the best Super Bowl I've ever seen.
What I took from that game was do not score too fast leaving too much time for two minute drill...after listening to Rodney Harrison describe the final touchdown play and then Edleman podcast knowing why Randy didn't get a ring...rounds out a whole lot more...youtube personal podcasts are amazing!
In any other day or time or game that play wouldn’t have happened. It was a miracle play and once in a life time thing. Thank good the giants won and beat Brady lol Tom lost two rings to Eli and the giants. Eli deserves to be in the hall of fame for sure.
I love the fact he beat them twice
Life long cowboys fan. I watched a lot of Eli manning football games lol. It seems like people forget how good he was. He did decline his last 2 years in NY. Most great ones eventually suffer that same fate. Will he go to the Hall? Not for me to decide. But either way he was a great player. Great career with 2 rings!!
And still gave an autograph on your new Stadium. I have a feeling that Jerry never removed it
The Giants dodged several bullets in that game: 4th down conversion, near interception by Samuel, near sack and near whistle from the ref in the helmet-catch play, Tyree's ball nearly touching the ground which might've knocked the ball loose, and two Brady hail marys at the end that were barely incomplete.
Best Superbowl Ever - I miss my Giants winning
NE fan has to tip the cap to Eli and Tyree for escaping the rush and beating Rodney Harrison. That don't happen only by luck. That was football, and they played it a little better that night.
God that roast of Snee. Brutal
Wow, 100000 more
Loved everything about this catch except the fact it denied Randy Moss a ring, that man deserved one, and also would have been cool to say we all witnessed a completely perfect season in the modern era.
Crazy to think that both the helmet catch and OBJ’s 1-handed catch came from the arm of Eli Manning
Somehow playoff Eli became baby jesus.
Lost our minds watching that catch live.
Thank you Eli, I made a ton of money on you guys that year and the second olayoff run to beat the Pats again. $$$$
Manning-Brothers are top-notch in manning ways. 😏
0:56 Whether it’s sports, music, acting etc... anything that involves structured practice each week. If you completely suck and have the worst practice session ever right before showtime ... you almost always have one of the best performances of your life. It’s practically a universal law of nature
It still gives me happy feelings reliving the outcome of that season! Pat's only lost one game (Superbowl) ha ha! And didn't the Giants go into the playoffs on a 8-8 record?
I love the fact that Peyton is so admiring of his little brother here...but can't pass up the chance to tell him that, if Eli had failed to get away from the sack attempts, he'd be shaming the family. 😀 CLASSIC big brother.
It was a great play, but the Giants being the only team all season to hold the Patriots to under 20 points was the real difference.
That front 7 was nasty for the giants. They came ready to play and put the team on their backs. Brady got hit all game long
Plax!!!
I had just moved from the States to Canada. I went online to place a bet on the Patriots, got all the way to the end and it wouldn't take my new Canadian credit card. Watched the game a little pissed off but they saved me $100.
As a patriots fan idk why I just watched this video 😭
Greatest play ever and im being 100 percent bias as a Giants fan
At least the Red Sox won this year, but this is hands down the greatest upset in American sports.
As soon as I saw that play, I knew it was going to be one of those fabled, talked-about Super Bowl plays forever. I thought to myself, "Hat Trick. There's no way the sports press doesn't coin that catch the Hat Trick." I even sent letters to ESPN and ABC Sports but no one bit, so I'm left to keep that gem to myself.
You say helmet catch and every true fan knows what you are talking about. You say hat trick and I think of soccer/hockey. Helmet catch is much better
@@donsolos Of course everyone knows it by helmet catch now because it's been used for 15 years. I just dislike it because it lacks imagination. Most of the time, the sports press likes to use alliteration or irony to coin a new term for a play or drive, and like the Immaculate Reception, it's often a play on words. Hat Trick works in the same vein: in the context of the Super Bowl no one is going to think of hockey any more than Immaculate Reception is going to make anyone think of the Bible.
@@a1superfantastic thanks for repeating yourself. I couldnt understand you the first time 🙄🙄
How does one coin a term that has already been coined?
