CA Smog laws left me with no choice

- This beautiful rust-free ‘77 Dodge W200 Powerwagon is making the ultimate sacrifice thanks to Californian politicians. It’s been off the road for 21 years yet, fired up with a little gas, new starter, and a spark plug or two. Unfortunately, a new California-approved catalytic converter cost more than the entire truck itself is worth. Therefore, it was torn apart to help resurrect an ultra rare 1974 Dodge Ramcharger 440 🤘🏻
Good thing I live in Saskatchewan where my 76 w200 can live.
Yeah these CA regulations are killing the late 70’s cars. The catalytic converter alone is $2800. Makes for a great place to find parts though
@@sorta_stock it does. I remember when you had to smog 65 model year and up. where better now.
Keep it its to clean to junk oh to late
Step one move out of California!. Step two save the power wagon.
I could use that box on mine
I’ve been trying to convince the Mrs but, there’s not much hope on that front. Maybe one day
I would've taken the cab and bed for my 78. My truck got smacked up last summer. I would take the cab and bed.
Retrofitted smog equipment is mandatory???? Aww hell no!! My parents went through that in the 70s. They had to add stuff to moms 68 Charger ( my first Charger and high school car), then the law was repealed and they got to take it back off. Crazy they're back at it...
I want to like this video but I'm sad to see what you had to do because I have that same truck! I'd happily buy that grill off you! Glad you saved what you could
It was a difficult decision to move forward with it after seeing how nice it was. Need to do a good job on the ‘74 Ramcharger to honor the late powerwagon lol
Welp. There are 49 other states to choose from. San Diego is nice though I fully admit. Ask me in August how much I enjoy living in Texas. 🙂
I’ve felt practically every climate in the world and I’ve gotta say SD is my absolute favorite lol. Reno, NV would be nice too tho. Not a fan of heat + humidity
I live in mass. I will take the cab and bed for my truck.
It’s already in someone else’s hands now. There are a ton of good parts trucks over here. Transport might be difficult but, you could always time it with an event in the area and knock out 2 birds with 2 stone
What part of california you in??
California politics suck. They sucked when I moved away in 1988 and they're even worse now. But the anti-classic laws are creeping into my adopted state now, so...
Use some 1 address that's lives in MARIPOSA COUNTY no need to smog i got the info
Bs there is this place I live have some freedom should of sold it
So you did not want to spend the money.
The catalytic converter alone cost 2x what I paid for the truck. Instead, it’s going to help my ‘74 continue on
Can I have the tailgate?
I went live with it during the tear down offering parts but, I no longer have the pickup. Sorry man
@@sorta_stock Its all good. Your like 400 miles away. that's a lot of gas...lol
Sad
