I can’t fault my chrome Bronze classic , the fit and finish is easily up to the standard of the other bikes I have ( Japanese and Italian) , I must admit I did wonder if 20 hp would struggle in the mountainous southern Austria where I live but it easily copes and is probably the perfect bike for where I live , great channel you have ,many thanks
I’m only 6 foot 2 but I’m 67. I’m not flexible anymore. Can’t swing those legs over the seat with ease like I was much younger. But I love your review. Always wondered how good Royal Enfield were/are. I like the styling more than my ‘98 Honda Nighthawk. Bikes were born to have chrome, a round headlight, and an emblem; not plastic, painted logos, and a square box.
I agree with everything you said there and I would have bought one if I hadn't ridden the Bullet 500 back to back with it. I preferred the more old fashioned feel of the Bullet and the extra grunt it has but if I'd had the cash I would have taken both. There's no doubt the 350 is better made, more refined and easier to ride and the next bike I add to my collection will probably be a 350. The Hunter is top of my list at the moment but I do like the look of that blacked out Bullet. Cheers, Mick
New subscriber here. Your most recent video from the barn where you talked about your experience on the flooded road showed up in my feed and I gave it a watch. Then I watched a few more videos. I just sold one of my bikes and am looking for a candidate to fill the spot in my shed. I got rid of a H-D Dyna. Too heavy, too loud but had a lot of charm otherwise. I really wish that RE made a 650 classic, but they don’t. I am thinking about a Super Meteor or a classic 350. My mind is still not made up, but your video was very helpful. BTW, what part of England are you from. I am trying to place the accent. As an American that was raised on a diet of Monty Python, you accent has me recalling the Piranha brother’s sketch. Cheers and thanks. Tim
Regarding your wheel re-fitting woes, RE recommends you take the brake calliper off completely. Once the wheel is refitted, you can mount the calliper onto the disc. Not sure if that was a sticking point or not. The rear mudguard can be lifted slightly, once the rear seat is removed, by loosening the attachment bolts. Still a right faff, and not something you'd want to be doing at the side of the road.
Just found your channel thanks to TAYM ! I have the Splendiferous Green Classic 350 that I have owned for 18 months from new, my favourite bike in 53 years of riding. As you say unless you want to do over 70 miles an hour on a regular basis, this is the perfect bike. I have only ever owned one bike at a time, then would be looking for the next bike, until that is I bought the Classic. 18 months down the line this bike just grows on you, other than heated grips, black touring seats and a DID chain the bike is standard. I even ditched a TomTom sat nav and replaced it with a little beeline that fits in with the character of the Classic. This bike just puts a smile on your face and brings back the joy of biking with out the crazy power and rider aids that the stupid power modern bikes now have, instead of being frustrated you can only use a fraction of the power on British roads the Classic relaxes you and you just enjoy the ride. Just my take on this perfect bike and look forward to catching up on your videos. Pete 😊
Great film! And I agree 100% with your findings 👍 The only fault is that back wheel removal and re instalment on your own with no one else to hold the bike at an angle like is shown in the RE how to films, it is still a great bike though! 😁👍 Cheers Bruce
Really love that bike! Test roden all RE 350s and the Classic was the one that really caught my attention. Owning a HD Sportster 1200 and a Honda PCX 125 (no car!) I‘m playing with the thought do replace the Sportster with the Classic. Most road at the lower Rhine here in Germany are reglemented to 70km/h and some are down to 50km/h which makes even the 125 scooter an overpowered bike 😂😇….. So what’s the sense in keeping the heavy bad handling torque monster? My grandpa owned a Horex 350 Regina with sidecar and this bike had 20hp and took him everywhere in Europe with the sidecar - so with a bit a patience you should be able to do this with the Classic 350 too…. - maybe even with a sidecar…😇
You make me want to own-one , so well-done . I might have talked my-sister over in Oz into buying-one . She wants some excitement in her life and always wanted a motorcycle . Dave
REMINDS ME OF MY FIRST MOTORBIKE THAT I HAD IN 1972 SO WHEN I SAT ON A 350 METEOR AND I SAID THAT THE BIKE WAS MINE BRUCE FROM AUSTRALIA PS I LOVE THE WAY IT HANDLES IN HILL AND CURVES LOVELY WILL KEEP IT TILL I CANT THROGH THE LEG OVER THANKS
Really appreciate the review! Six foot, six!! Finally, an opinion on comfort that I can rely on! I'm 6'5", and I always roll my eyes at the people who are sub-six foot and say a bike fits them well. Of course it fits them well...THEY'RE NORMAL. Anyway, I really appreciate the review and the scenic ride WITHOUT the annoying music. "He's turning both ways, is he?" Love it!
I've enjoyed many aspects of the Meteor, love my Hunters which I'd never let go of but also love the looks of both the earlier 500s and this 350. If I had space I could be tempted... Nice video Volcanic Brown.
Riding or driving a bike , car or truck that doesn’t have huge power can really improve your riding/ driving as it teaches you to plan ahead and use your observational skills to make progress.
Hello there ,coming from India i think there is a mini Buddha hidden in one of the boxes on the bike , because everyone who owns or reviews these 350 classics becomes chilled out ,and generally happy in his world ,including me with "Bronwyn" my bronze 350 classic .The bike feels like it will always look after you .A brilliant video sir .Chris

Oui, les éditions Chrome nécessitent beaucoup plus de nettoyage que les autres variantes ! Désolé si mon français est un peu aléatoire, j'utilise Google Translate !!!
Cracking video mate, ideal little bike for the lanes, seriously thinking of getting one of them, getting on a bit now so 45-55mph is fast enough, potter round the lanes to the next cafe, I live in Suffolk now and I must say there are some nice rides. All the best mate and have a good Christmas
Seems like the perfect bike for it. No point in have anything powerful these days what with speed cameras and the monotonous dash between traffic jams. Thanks for the brief look at Suffolk back roads. I only ever bash up and down the A12 so know nothing about the places on your route. Maybe when the sun shines and warms up in the spring I'll have a look round in person.
Very much agree about keeping it stock. There are plenty of fast bikes. If that's what people want, can't understand why they get an RE. It is a hark back to another world. These are the kind of bikes I was lusting after in 1970 and could never have afforded. To be fair - they are a world apart from what was on offer then. It is kind of like my old C15, but more go and vastly more reliable. Mind you - if I had left my old C15 alone and not taken it apart all the time for a hobby, it would have gone better and kept going more than it did. My only complaint is that it is a bit heavy to move about for a man who is a foot shorter than you and aged 72. I am going to do a mod. I am going to put on some crash bars, but that is only because i know one day I'll drop the bugger while moving it or coming to a stop on a bad camber and spoil its looks.
@Tonyv1951 I think we are all trying to recapture our youth, in one way or another! Bikes keep you young in the mind, when the mirror says otherwise! I am just about to do a video on the first bike I owned and the stories that go with it! and it's not a Royal Enfield!😁
Great video thanks - Paul ( TAYM ) put me onto this and couldnt agree more - Ive just got rid of the Interceptor for a Halcyon Black, people think Im mad but I know better :) and yes keeping it bog standard, put the DNA airfilter in it and didnt feel right so put the original airfilter back in

No problem sitting on 100 to 110 kmh on my classic 350 here in Western Australia. Of course the bike excels on country roads and is quite fun riding in the suburbs.
I think it's the best looking bike out there... But 350cc single is jus not gonna cut it here in the colonies (states). I wish they would put that new himi engine in it. First bike I ever owned was 1975 Honda 450 twin, it was highway capable with a pillion, and would do the ton (ind.) same. Jus need a little more power. I don't think many are sold over here. 650's are.
I am glad there is a comfortable bike around. It does look a lovely comfortable seat - so important if you are doing big mileages. Thanks again.@@Volcanicbrown1878
