I don't have a lot of classics and the ones I have are mostly the penguin classics so I keep them together and the rest of my books are organized by color
Love the video! To me most classics are fiction, so when I organized my books by genre, they would be there. However, I organize all of my books by color now, except my favorites. Those go on the third shelf down across all of my bookcase’s.
Love bookshelf vids! :) I organise my classics by genre and editions I.e. all modern together, red spines together etc. It gets a bit muddled tho so I try to buy certain genres in certain editions! Ah the full bookshelf problem! You might be able to fit more on if you do more horizontal stacks like the white spines? I'm not sure if you /actually/ fit more that way or not, but there is a lot of unused space above the books when they're all vertical so might work!
That’s the thing I don’t like about the Billy bookshelves. I wish the centre shelf wasn’t fixed so you can put the shelves closer together. There’s so much dead space above the books as you said. I do love having the vintage red spines together! You said you separate your classics by genre, is that like gothic, mystery, romance, etc?
@literally_elly I don't know if it would work out regarding measurements, but you could try buying 2 extra shelves per bookshelf and adding them above and under the fixed center piece, while shifting the other shelves accordingly :)!
@@deathnyyy I tried that and sadly there isn’t quite enough space for 4 shelves instead of 3. I might have to just suck it up and stack horizontally and on top 😭
Why don't you put the left over books on the top shelf (you have room up there) and get book enders to keep the from falling off, and get a step stool or ladder to get them. You have room for about 80 more books.
Ooh that’s true. Might have to get a higher step ladder! I’ve figured out that there’s just enough room to add two more shelves to each bookshelf which will be a close fit but I get 8 extra shelves 🤯😯
@@literally_elly You might not be able to fit the extra shelf because of the ceiling molding. Just measure it really good first before you buy extra shelves.
