  • As the video says, please view these links for more info.
Also note I incorrectly mixed up the rear cylinder intake and exhaust valves. The intake valves on the rear cylinder are nearest to the rear end of the bike, the exhaust valves are facing the front cylinder.

Brilliant video. Thank you for the detailed descriptions of each step. And for the links to the discussion forums that I didn't know existed (I've owned my C50T for 7 days now :-).

Those forums are a goldmine for information, tons of threads on valve clearances. It's not a terrible job but some previous mechanical knowledge is advised before attempting it, and dont drop the tank when you remove it

You may have answered this already, If so I apologize but I have the same exact bike color and all. What was the clearance for the valves? I would appreciate any advice. Thank you

What year is your bike? Would this be the same settings for a 2009 C50 SE?

Good info. Using the threads to calculate the clearance is probably easier than using the feeler gages. Can you give more information on the propper procedure for actually setting the valve clearance once the covers are all off? Although I was a machinist for ten years in my past motorcycle wrenching is new to me and I want to do it right. Thanks , Ride safe! Watch out for idiots with cell phones in their hand while driving.

Good show, other than you glossed over setting TDC, pretty crucial I've read. What way to turn the generator, I've read clockwise (otherwise you can mess up timeing) but I have also read to turn in counterclockwise? Go figure. What's say you? Also, do you set TDC for each cyclynder? As in do one side complete, then the other!

Counter clockwise. Download the Clymer or Haynes manual, should find it free online.

No less than a 2 hour job if you simply take off the tank.

Dont bother with the Valve adjustment... sell the bike!! I had a c50 that only had 22000 kms on it. Had the valves set at the dealer.....3000kms later the front piston started banging like crazy. These motors are JUNK !! will never by a suzuki V Twin ever again. My old 2002 honda shadow 750 had 70,000 kms on it and Never had issues like these. Going back to Honda. These Boulevard bikes are geared WAY to low. They need another gear. They rev to high for long trips at 70 MPH sorry folks..I give this bike a BIG thumbs DOWN ! By the time the valves start making Noise....the pistons are pretty much done.
