@@solidisbeefy8255 It depends on what you are looking for, if you want a fast processor, a flagship camera and premium materials, you are better off with an iphone se or a xr. The A51's display and I guess the battery life may be the only upgrades from your current phone. I think the Pixel 4a would be a better option within the android side.
SolidIsBeefy it depends. If you could/would be willing to stretch the budget, you can get the Samsung s20 FE for 700 retail, or up to 150$ off on Best Buy and I think Amazon. You can look at his review on it, or find another. It has flagship cameras, and flagship specs. It has a plastic back and gorilla glass 3 though. It’s a really good phone for the value.

I really like this phone, honestly and the fact that this phone will receive 3 years of software updates makes it even more special to me. The only complain I have with it, is it's processor. It's just not that great. Although for casual gaming and social media use, it's fine. The thing is, Chinese brands offer way better processor at this price.

@@khairulfaiz7398 Well, they're lamenting. By 2021, the Exynos chipsets will use an ARM base like Qualcomm did when they overtook the Exynos in the S9 era. And by late 2021/early 2022, they're switching over to AMDs Adreno graphics cores.

Bought this for my mom on 31st December! Still an amazing phone with the latest security patch! Sometime had the heating problems while video calling. But otherwise it's the best! My mom has got the 6GB RAM version

watching with an a50, I like the bezel shrinking treatment the a51 got, and same with the other hardware improvements, but I'm holding out on upgrading until my phone loses software support

A tip for the fingerprint sensor: Set 2 (or 3, but leave the last one for another fingerprint of the other hand in case your main hand is occupied) same fingerprints to improve the unlock the phone.
I'm using this tip on my A50 and I saw clearly an improvement.

I got the A51 about a month ago... And I feel that the phone is top notch. I used to have a C7. that was good at that time, but the A51 is best of the A SERIES. A71 is a tad too expensive for me.
So far using the A51 was a breeze. I love the One UI. and the ability to have a 3 years updates of os is truly heaven.
I believed samsung will continue improve the screen finger scanning and battery usage.
By the way, my A51 is the 6. Gb version.

I got this phone back in December and I've loved using it. I've been wanting to get someone a new phone. I'm wondering if I should wait for the A52 to debut, and hand down this current A51 to them, or if I should just get them their own A51
there's also another plus for this phone in my opinion, it's an incredibly popular phone, there are cases, skins, screen protectors for days, you can make a fashion statement out of this phone which is something not all budget phones have. I have received compliments on my black A51 from even iphone 11 and x users because it looks way more expensive than it actually is.

I'm glad you spoke about. I won't say I'm above this because I did purchase a Note20 Ultra, but hiking prices for 5G is honestly not worth it now. With the limited and sporadic use and release of 5G just doesn't justify it. Good video, man.

I saw on reddit, if you want the fingerprint sensor to work well, do exactly what the screen says when registering the fingerprint, e.g. the finger in the screen tilts, you tilt your finger accordingly

i bought one like 3 weeks after it came out in jamaica and got it shipped in like 3 more weeks so i got it like 6 weeks after it launched and i have come to america with it and have been using it for the better part of 7 months and while its not the greatest phone, if you need a phone that does what a phone needs to do and your not crazy about power then its a good phone for the price range but if you can get the 6 or 8 gb ram versions for under 300 dollars then that would be useful in the long run.
i like how theres fm radio even though i wont really use it as you need hardware support to have it
When the power goes out, you'll need that fm radio. Trust me. Get a cheap pair of headphones to have handy

I bought exactly for you mentioned about the design. Comfort, good build quality, slim durable plastic casing, top of the line screen, modern aesthetics. I had a Redmi Note 8 Pro before, and it was a tank compared to this. My corporate One UI based Samsung "Nugget" made me switch, and never looked back. This was a good video thanks.

Hey thanks for the great review! Just got the regular A51 couple weeks ago thru verizon and it didn't come with a screen protector on it, or ear buds, just the charging cord.. I think it was $299 but the important thing for me was the monthly pmt which was less than $17. The 5G was $35 and I just thought that was too much. I'm not a high end phone person by any means and the A51 seemed perfect for me. I upgraded from a Moto g6 and after 2 yrs of having it, pretty much anything is an improvement technology wise. I'm happy with it so far and agree with your assessment of it. Battery life is good, I get a bit more than a day on it. Display is very nice. Love the camera features. I'm not a gamer but I watch alot of videos and streaming tv, the performance is great. Not crazy about the speaker but I really wasn't expecting alot so I can't complain. I really don't like the fingerprint sensor at all. I took the advice of others and registered my fingerprint before putting on a screen protector. It worked find before, recognizing my print 90-95% of the time. After the screen protector it didn't work at all. So now I do face recognition. I'm not happy about that. But what are you gonna do? It's not a high end phone. Overall I'm happy with it after using it for a couple weeks.

I got a brand new 64Gb white A51 for only €160, I love this phone, my previous phone was an iPhone 6S and I have always wanted to switch to android so I went for it and wasn't disappointed!! It's a solid phone, granted, you do get some lag here (the processor isn't the best, but the updates regularly make the experience smoother) and there but nothing too serious, especially if you tweak some things in settings. I love the versatility of the camera's, they give clear and crisp shots. The screen is stunning and so is the design, mimicking the much more expensive galaxy S20. I don't play many games but I do have some, and they run just fine, it never overheats (unlike my iPhone 6S) and the way I use my phone I get 2 days battery life easily. I consider it an improvement from my iPhone and if you do some rummaging around and find a good price, this phone is a steal! Love it!!! Waiting for Android 11 too :D

The 5g variant bump in processor is not tiny. Its bigly huge. Exynos 980 or 765 snapdragon for that price is great buy.

I was an apple customer since the 4 .My iPhone xr got damaged .My provider gave me a A51 never used Android .But after a short time wow was I supervised for a fraction of the price I'm in love with my Sammy great t phone for me watching sport great battery great screen .I'm an old timer so not worried about camera but it's ok save yourself at least £650.Im a fan .Great bargain.The way I see it all that extra cash for a logo is a lot of dosh.Enjoy ur day folks.F.

I was coming from an a50s and I can't see any significant difference between this and the a50s so when the 5g version came out I thought to myself that this is the "s" version of the a51; build material alone is more than enough for me as an upgrade also I'm getting good if not consistent 5g signal in my area so the 5g is getting a bit of a use.
I have a samsung a20 and I might consider upgrading to the a51 when my a20 starts to decay even further

I am an S10+ user. I am telling you if you are a heavy gamer, buy the 5G version! The Exynos 980 shits on the Snapdragon 845 and you can get 6 or 8GB of RAM. It shits on the Note 9. Check Antutu if you don't believe me. I think the A51 5G scores about 20K more points than the Note 9.
cod mobile? it runs it on medium settings by default but gets choppy after 10/20 minutes, you can play it smoothly with low settings and high frame rate, this is the way I play it on my regular A51. If you are ok with that, then you'll be fine with it but yeah, the A51 isn't really meant for gaming, it can kind of handle the most popular games but you should totally look elsewhere if you are a gamer, in short, don't get this phone

In June, I was able to buy two A51's with 6/128 for $265 each. While I might have preferred to spend the extra $100 and get A71's instead, this phone looks great and has a fantastic screen with a hole punch even smaller than the A71. So, no buyer's remorse here

About the in display fingerprint reader. Habe you tried to turn on the sesitivity, then have your fingerprint scanned, then turnnit off afterwards. Should work better, and for the sake of it, scan your fingerprint several times. Better chance for onnof them to be used, your % in succes when used better

Tbh mid range phones have good enough specs for everyday use, you don't need high end phones to do essentials. But all of the newer phones seems to have a worse camera quality, my friend has a s10 and it takes photos that may seem good until I've compared with previous models. My A51 has an even worse camera, especially the selfie cam

I think what he said on the fingerprint sensor being slow is somewhat just nitpicking TBH. Cuz my grandma has the A71 and I have the Note10 Lite as my secondary phone to my Note10+ and honestly despite of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor being the way way better in-display fingerprint technology the ones on A71 and A51 are good enough and very much more secured though it's not as fast as their face unlock which is 2D anyway... I would take it anytime of the day rather than a side mounted fingerprint sensor or a rear fingerprint sensor which never really appealed nor worked out for me. I just wish though that they allowed 4 fingerprint registrations instead of just 3 just like on their flagships where you can register 4 fingerprints.
