    Doing this for the third time now, third character I noticed that orient joint doesn't always properly work, therefore I suggest to anyone to manually orient finger pivots to the desired direction so they turn as intended when keying.

    Thank you for sharing this valuable knoledge... This part was most tricky for me! Besides, it's very difficult to curl finger into the right position (on the second driven key), because, when I bind skin afterwards, it became clear, that some fingertips penetrating the arm. Is there any way to tweak this after binding skin?

    • @AcademicPhoenixPlus
      @AcademicPhoenixPlus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure! If the joints are driven by set driver keys, then tweak the set driven key. Hopefully that helps!

  • @NewtaoV
    @NewtaoV 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Good tut! Is there a way to make it automatic, like transfer the driven key controls to the other hand?
    I know I can duplicate the driver with all finger attributes, that saves some minutes, but I would like to know another time saver.

    Amazing, thank you so much! The rigging videos have been so much help! Question what would be the process to make a fist with a set driven key? Could you just set the fingure set driven keys to 1 and then make a new attribute/set driven key for the fist and key it or would you have to re do all the joint movments?

    • @AcademicPhoenixPlus
      @AcademicPhoenixPlus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Wilhelm, thank you for your comment and I'm glad to hear you find it useful! To create a fist, would be the same process. Create an attributes called "Fist", then set the 1st driven key in neutral. And then create the second driven key in a shape of a fist. All the joints should be selected (would be a long list). I hope that helps!

    • @AcademicPhoenixPlus

      There is a muscle system, but it's too advanced for this character. You can fake it a bit with some joints too, but that's beyond the scope of this tutorial. I hope you find what you are looking for!

    Is it possible to copy or mirror the driven keys to the other hand so the fingers have the exact same amount of rotation on both hands?

    • @AcademicPhoenixPlus
      @AcademicPhoenixPlus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't found a way! :( If you do, please share!

    • @tarz1109
      @tarz1109 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Commenting in case someone else finds out. Best thing I have so far is to copy the rotation values.
      This doesn't always work however, so sometimes you'll need to manually orient the joints to get a mirrored orientation before keying, then mirror the rotational values.

    • @nialismcreates

      I had to select all rotations for it to work properly. Will that be an issue?

    • @tarz1109
      @tarz1109 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Replying in case anyone else has this issue.
      Are your hands modelled vertically or horizontally?
      If vertically (palm perpendicular to the floor), it would naturally rotate with Y.
      If not. Make sure your joints are correctly oriented with X as your primary axis and Y as your secondary (via orient joint options), if it continues rotating inwards with Y after reorienting, then just key the Y rotation value the same way Monica keys the Z value.
