I went to the grocery store today and, of course, thought about what to have for dinner. I decided on burgers and, thanks to you, I didn't have to buy rolls. These rolls are amazing. Better than restaurant. Thank you. I'll be making a loaf of white bread in a little while to have with my turkey sandwich at lunch tomorrow. 😀
Those look so good, Kevin! All through the first months of Covid I made our bread, and still make most of it now. One of the best things about your beautiful hamburger buns is the fact that you know that everything in them is wholesome. I'm also a home cheesemaker and save the whey for making bread and use it instead of the water - Whey increases the protein and the bread takes on a wonderful, savory flavor.

Made the black bean burger to go with it. YUM! Next time I’ll add some natural liquid smoke. They already tasted to great. And the texture really has the bite of a normal hamburger. This is a keeper.

I will make these today. I make lots of bread, here's a hint or two, I proof my bread in my oven with light on. I mix the sesame seeds in the egg wash, also when my bread is ready to bake I just turn on my oven, I don't preheat, it works great.

KLJ, I just made these buns exactly like you did and they are the most magnificent ethereal clouds of yeasty goodness I have ever put to my lips. I added 1 extra tablespoon of sugar and I am glad I did. Not sweet just good. Cost about $.18 to make all 8 large rolls. I buy all my ingredients in huge quantities from a restaurant supply store that sells to the public. So my cost is not an exaggeration. Usually I pay $3.00 for good quality buns for a pack of 8. Thank you so very much!

Thanks you! I woke up and saw on my phone, how Wendy's has made a better breakfast menu. So instead of spending money on fast food, I decided I can make my own breakfast sandwich. Mind you I normally dont eat until about 1:00 or 2:00, so this was perfect to make in the morning for my lunch. My bread is almost doubled in size now. Yes, we have all become better cooks for the most part. I like baking and cooking in general. And a year and a half after we have been quarantined and now with the Delta variant present in large numbers, I am still at home and feel safer here than in restaurants.

Totally agree with you baker. This virus and lockdowns made us all, men and women I think professional bakers and I like baking. I am making these now. I just made the hot dog buns yesterday. Tomorrow, I am grilling hot dogs and hamburgers and will enjoy with my home made buns. I forgot only 2 things at the store - sesame seeds and lettuce.

After trying several different recipes for hamburger buns, these are by far the best tasting and they freeze perfect! Since I don't have a stand mixer, I kneaded the dough manually (which is why I like baking bread!). I made these last Sunday and today I'm going to make your kneaded bread instead of my regular recipe.
Delightful lesson. I’m a bread baker for many years, and I bake challah every week. Slight differences in the recipe, but not so different. I make challah rolls, so the technique is similar, only these buns are larger, probably 3-3.5 oz.@. Gonna give these a try for sure!
