I can’t believe shops charge so much for this job. If you got a free weekend, it is easy enough to do it yourself for a small fraction of the cost at a shop. Brakes are an easy job, just need a little patients to get through the muscle parts of the job. I know some rotors need to have the nut, inside where the wheel spins, taken out along with the cotter pin, which can be intimidating. But the Fiat, you just take the bracket, behind, off and the rotor just slides off. I just don’t know how that justifies over $1K of labor. I don’t know how the people, who works in those shops, sleeps at night. Thank you again for this encouraging video.

European Motors in Cedar Rapids Iowa was supposed to change my brakes they decided on their own terms to just only grease on the sliders on the bracket for 179 shop supplies 14.32 and sales tax 13.56 and end total came to 206.85 when they should have been doing my brakes the cost of break is $308.43 I am single mom don't have time to go back and forth I only make 13.25 and don't get paid holidays I felt like they did that so I come back and do the brakes another day more money for them
I'm still a temp worker not a hire on I'm trying to make it by barely one mistake I did was buy a pre-owned Fiat I should have got Chevy, Honda, Toyota because parts are probably not as hard to come by
EJ, those are very nice rotors. Make sure you check the brake pads often because they don’t last as long with the drilled and slotted rotors. I had an old Fiat 128 sport Rally and it would eat brake pads. The good thing is they were very easy to change. The easiest I’ve ever done. Keep putting up those videos.

I was about to do a brake job on my Abarth and decided to watch this first incase there was any Fiat quirkiness I wasn't prepared for. I'm so glad I did. I would have had the car jacked with the wheel off before realizing I need a T45. I don't have a T45 (yet). Great video.
@@ejsgarage I waited for T45 to arrive then got to work. Come to find out that my car uses 19mm bolts. 🤷🏻 I'm always content to add more tools to my box, but now the wait begins for a chance to use it. LOL

Hi, Thanks for the link regarding the Fiat 500 rear brakes. Unfortunately, your Fiat 500 has disc brakes on the rear braking system. The Fiat 500 I own as drum brakes so uses brake shoes not pads. Do you have a video with this specification? Thanks in Advance 👍

Did you use the brake pads tgat cone with the Callahan kit or did you only use the rotors and then purchased Bendix and Bosch pads?
I think I use the Bosch for the front and Callahan pads for the rear.

Its pretty simple, just like changing the brakes, except you go a few steps further and pull the axle from the hubs & transmission.
