Great review. I previously watched your review on the "confusing" options concerning the Akira manga publications, and promptly ordered this 35th Anniversary edition. I'm about to order the BLAME! manga collection of six volumes, after watching the excellent Netflix adaptation of part of the story, and would like to suggest that you include it in your 'Why You Should Buy' series...
I know that the traditional way to read manga is in black & white but I was 12 or 13 when Marvel released Akira under their EPIC line and I personally think reading Otomo's story in color adds so much to what is one of my favorite comic book runs of all time. It is because of this that I will not buy the Anniversary Edition or the trades that they've released. Again just personal preference.
it is currently 160usd... i dont know if it is worth it and i dont think it will be reprinted since kodansha claimed "this will be last time for real" idk if it is wise to wait for amazon to drop price
Great video sir. I own this box set and it is magnificent. I bought it for real cheap, around 130 CAN $. Personally, i do prefer to read mangas from right to left as it was originally published which is the main reason i bought this boxset. However i am not a purist when it comes to colors because it can help the comprehension when a lot of characters look alike. The only mangas i don't want to see colored are the JUngi Ito mangas. I don't mind you focus on comics or mangas, there are enough channels about movies out there. So please keep posting videos like this one. I subscribe to a dozen channels and find the american channels tend to talk about the same comics and all have the same opinions. Your take on comics is more original and personal. Also, in general i enjoy listening to european channels talk about america comics and american readers comment on european comics. For instance your video on the jodoverse was fascinating. For the same reason Sergio Leone directed better westerns than any american director, your take on european comics is often more interesting than what i hear from my fellow french readers. P.S.: i would love to see some videos on EC archives. I could be wrong but i suspect this kind of comic is right up your alley.

This is a pretty good direction for this channel. Was hoping for something like this, not many people do this for comics

I would love to get this but it's pricey and I already got the original Dark Horse "phone books"
This really is the format the manga should be experienced in but it's still too expensive, I'll make do with the paperbacks.
I prefer the Epic Comics version....i hope they will re-release them in the future.
