My mom tried to raise carrots when we were kids. After about 3 years of similar looking product's a local gardener told her what to do. Plant them in rows if possible, and thin them mercilessly to about 1 every inch or so. Boe food! And you have to have FINE soil with NO pebbles, rocks, etc. The root will "turn" upon meeting the slightest resistance. Once she screened out all the white stuff in the potting soil & thinned them like that we had perfectly straight, 4 to 6" carrots. Me & sister enjoyed the little thinnings almost as much as the mature ones. Boe has the right idea, as while young you can just give them a rinse & eat it, greens & all. Stir fry possibly?😊
Great content guys ,as a hunter myself ive had a baby wild goat and they are so cute but mischievous when theyre small , unfortunately they grow up and want to butt you and then they start urinating on themselves which is a goat thing and would make him stink. we use to let him on a wire run line so we could move him around to keep the grass down eventually he passed away and i put his collar in the shed . Well i found it 15 years later and it still stank like the day i put it there .
oh yes can those carrots they taste yummy,, we have 3 gardens grow corn garlic about 35 tomato plants 3 rows of corn, we can carrots corn, store potatos, put all green tops in compost pile, spread it out in spring, an save a ton on grocery bills, here in minnesota.

You need to put the water just below the plant just touching the root and the roots will grow towards the water... Your chickens and bowie are awesome, you 2 both rock... Much love 💖
All goats eat everything, and right down to the roots too..... a walking vacuum cleaner, I have seen a goat chew up a beer can, it wont be long til you either return it to the wild or give it away lol.... just letting you know guys..

Can I just let you know something about the olives. When you start to pickle them you have to pickel them for atleast 4 to 6 weeks before eating them and while your pickling them change up the salty water every week then when it gets to around the 5 week you need to rinse the olives and then put them in oil with garlic , capsaicun, and chilli. And leave it for 2 weeks before eating them. They should turn out much nicer.

I've been impressed, from the start, at your commitment to eating healthily; and growing your own vegetables, raising or hunting your own meat will set you free in ways you never imagined. You are in Western Oz, right? Consider raising meat rabbits..

the olives shouldn't be off in brine and oil, you can start eating them if youd like but if they're still bitter or sour just wait off for alittle more, it can take many weeks to properly make them so be patient

I've tried carrots before and it came out the same stubbies. I heard if you plant them in pvc tubes with soil, it'll grow to proper length. Never tried it.... worth a try?

When I make up a caustic solution to aid in the rinsing of anion resins to make demin water I use 25 kg bags to make a 30% caustic solution. I never thought you could use it for olives.

Plant them outside the enclosure so he doesn't kill them but they continue to grow through the fence for him to munch on.

Hi the soil you use for carrots needs to have more sand and should be lite and fluffy and also add some vermiculite works a treat

mak10, great video! for the olives make sure you soak them for 20m if you did not already, and be careful of garlic on olive oil, can cause botulism.
