I am UK based, been boating for years in all kinds of boat but we all get it wrong every now and then, when that happens just get out and start again. Far less shame in doing that than compounding the problem and being a pain to other boater especially when so many of the people we see in these vids seem to have little understanding of what the controls actually do. Anyway I really enjoy watching the vids even if I am shouting at the computer screen!
I don't understand why people don't get lines and fenders ready well before coming in. I have whom ever is riding in my boat get it all ready well before docking. makes life easier.
1:40 The entire crew leaning over the port side all at the same time causing the boat to severely list is not helping the captain navigate at this idle speed.
How about some video of the experts? Solo launches/recoveries against the wind etc. Your normal content is educational but watching it done with style might serve the same purpose?
I had a freind tear open his thumb on my cleat and had to get stiches blood everywhere, Luckily we were at the dock. Never thought somthing like that could happend.
I cannot understand if you have an expensive boat (all boats are expensive) why you do not have ropes ready at all times on each side of the boat and some fenders as well. I realize fenders take up space but you can leave them on the outside of the boat except when you are towing your boat on your trailer. I know some inexperience comes into play part of the time but these people make my head hurt. Gee use some common sense and think things through before you get in a situation. Lake boating is one thing but Ocean boating is something else and a bit more unforgiving if you make a mistake.
leaving lines laying about, creates a trip Hazzard. As well as being unsightly. Leaving the fenders outside of the rails, risks them getting lost over the side, if their fastenings come loose. Plus, running around with fenders over the side, is just unsightly as well.
If you can reach the dock, you're mostly home. Throwing a dock line to someone on the dock is not a crime. Most trouble starts when crew isn't prepared, so I usually do it all myself
Agree, I learned to captain a boat on the black sea over 44 years ago. I'm laughing now.. it was a little 16 foot boat we water skied on. I was stationed in remote turkey living in Sinop Turkey, at that time when we were on the Beach or boating we were protected by the Turkish soldiers.. they had AK-47 at the ready, we couldn't have weapons on the Beach. We were known as TUSLOG Detachment 4. Apo NY 09133 it was one of the best times in my life. United States Army Veteran, at your service.👍

You do know that 99 percent of people in Florida are all crazy?
Hey at least we own fenders and life jackets in the UK. Sometimes it seems like the American’s don’t?!
my word -- a boat hook AND a stern line -- both in the same video; amazing.
I love it when everybody stands on one side of the boat making list.
Let the wind be your freind🌬
I've owned 2 boats...I never had a problem docking. Read current, slow roll it, have lines ready...easy.

Or spend a few bucks for a docking pole.
I think you want your title to read "Why we CAN'T have nice things

I wouldn't call any of these clowns captain lol

that's a good idea. course, the people in these vids would need to watch them to maybe learn a thing or two.
I am extremely thankful I don't have a boat in Florida and am glad the nimrod throttle jockeys have gone south.
Anybody notice the boat hook on the gunnel
It came with the boat. Just never figured out what in the hell it is.
Roxänne 🙂
The only thing missing from this circus was the clown car...wait...there were 2!
I had a freind tear open his thumb on my cleat and had to get stiches blood everywhere, Luckily we were at the dock. Never thought somthing like that could happend.
The 500th like😁 it amazes me how many people have boats that should not have them.🤣🛫
I'm sorry but does no one have paddles.
The "Reel Addiction" Captain doesn't know how to drive a boat.
10 people on that boat. JFC!
Looked like rush hour.

01:04 when your crew helps do the opposite. Wrap stern line on piling, put in frwrd gear.
There's just so much content. Do people not plan ahead? It's really unreal.
Independent woman reaching out to a man for support, own it & act it
OMG, hook the bow and ease it into reverse! smdh...
Way to ruin the ladder leaving it down like that, on the green Robalo.
It hurts watching these people..
When you are making rapid changes to both the throttle and helm, just admit it, you misjudged everything! Back out, reset, try something DIFFERENT!
That's just because the boat isn't behaving for them like a car as it should because steeringwheel
There is so many people doing dum stuff, you can go from a woman cutting her hand to the other guys trying to dock, it's crazy.
Embarrassing as Sh!t! Man cards revoked.
First boat could have looped onto the dock with the stern line then spring off with forward propulsion, instead of pushing off.
Yes at 1:00 they had it but pushed off. Inexperience?

Seriously. How do these people even get their license?

the stronger the wind the more you need to pay attention and come in with a bit of authority.
Show a video where everyone does it right. I'd like to know not everyone is incompetent.
Why do these clown always think they have to add throttle when in close quarters? Leave it in Idle and use your steering!
That was a painful video. I’ve seen more coordination at a Muscular Dystrophy Telethon.
Dumb prevails here at the Miami Boat Ramps
It's amazing how these boat owners have absolutely no clue how to pilot a boat. Embarrassing!
These people continue to make the same mistakes over and over!
Just the one mistake got a boat
A boat is a hole in the water you pour money into constantly.
For most of these people, yes!
Terrible
Stupid is as stupid does!!!
