Pure-pursuit assisted with a distance sensor maybe? Then calculate the velocity of the other enemy bot. Maybe even an UV sensor (i dont know much am 16)
I almost flew to Vegas for Proving Grounds this weekend with Bloodsport but decided to sit it out due to the expense. I have been working with the team on a lot of upgrades for months, including machining the minibot chassis, and I'm excited to see how they work! Hope to get to meet you someday at Battlebots filming!
seriously I am loving the proving grounds stuff because it feels like so many teams are being allowed to post so much more on youtube and really drum up hype, I think the producers really figured it out and this might be a new age for battlebots
HOLY SHIT! I absolutey love that you just went balls to the walls with this. Looking forward to seeing the newer iterations and I hope build a 30 pound version too. I reckon it would do great at NHRL.
Saw this design working at the lightweights in Denver, so happy to see it scaling up!! Straight to 250 sounds like quite a nightmare though, hope its Prooves well!
Just saw you guys in Vegas! You guys were great and my family and I are big fans! P.S. We need merch like I would totally buy stickers of this guy. Hope you do great tomorrow!
omg I love that this is happening! watching it spin at the end made me think, this could be an interesting variant on a thagomizer style if it was a rear mounted horizontal instead of a front mounted vertical
The drive system looking this good is probably already sending a lot of builder to CAD to brainstorm cool new ideas. Getting good bite requires closing speed, and being able to swing circularly so fast feels like a way to unlock quick hits with good bite - Glitch kind of did big hits like this by rotating in circles. Great inventive work!
I agree. Could work well with Tombstones "expose the back, then swing around" strategy. Also, it changes the pivot point to be way up front, which could be good for other long-and-narrow robots like Bronco...
Good luck against Disarray. Your bot looks very original and you might be onto something with the perpendicular wheels and un-flippable chassis, but Disarray has proven to hit very hard and be quite resilient, and that was a while ago. There's no doubt they upgraded the bot even further
Is the rear turning wheel just skidding along the ground? Might want to investigate finding or fabricating an Omni directional wheel for future versions, so you still get left and right, but it rolls forward and back too =D Looks great though, love seeing more unique robots
Our entire front wheel situation was bad. The exact wheel diameter and location can be improved so we can lean over further and still have traction, but our biggest issue was low torque and frequently cutting out: our overheating speed controller kept going into low power mode and also would suddenly cut power due to my crappy PID control settings causing current to spike over the max current limit… …we’ve got a big list of things to improve and the front wheel is the main one.

Comment for the Algorithm! ...And thanks everyone, I'm glad others are as excited as I am...

This looks amazing, I'm looking forward to see it compete,

I actually remember watching the first version of Danger Zone. Crazy to think that was 8 years ago now. Good luck in Vegas! Taco supremacy!
I look back at that bot and think about how much more competitive all robots are today vs just a while back
Wait 8 years ago is actually crazy, i remember watching that vid felt like yesterday
Battlebots needs more wacky designs, not just more metal boxes with a spinny thing.
Great work!!!
I really hope this does well. I’ve been hooked since the first Danger Zone and Krave Monster.

I cannot wait to see this big goofy thing I am so excited
I’ve seen a lot of tacos, but I’ve never looked at one and thought, “What this really needs is a motor and some weaponry.”
HOLY SHIT! I absolutey love that you just went balls to the walls with this. Looking forward to seeing the newer iterations and I hope build a 30 pound version too. I reckon it would do great at NHRL.
That is so sick! Definitely one of the more unique designs. Hopefully it does just as well as the antweight version
That's HUGE! congratulations, I just found your Channel yesterday but was really impressed with the engineering. Best of luck old boy
Love the intro! Excited to see the taco take on disarray!
I am so excited to see how you guys go, this is brilliant!

You don't understand how excited I am for this thing, it's currently beating Traves T for my "favourite robot of Proving Grounds" so far
Been watching your videos since 100 subs. Crazy to see how far you’ve come!
Bless you and your taco. I'm following with second-hand excitement.
Just saw you guys in Vegas! You guys were great and my family and I are big fans! P.S. We need merch like I would totally buy stickers of this guy. Hope you do great tomorrow!
This looks absolutely incredible, happy to see this bot progress this far!
I just watched your smaller version yesterday. Im excited.
that intro is gold. one punch taco FTW!
Man the intro is really amazing good job.
So stoked for you, glad to see more uploads too!!
That is supremely cool I hope it all goes well.
Not the Dan Clark aeons with custom cable as workshop headphones 😭😭😭
Is that not what closed backs are for? Lol
@@CarterHurd naturally, what else could it be?
Japanese robot fights are gaining popularity here, so comical!! I think it is the cuteness factor without the violence
omg I love that this is happening! watching it spin at the end made me think, this could be an interesting variant on a thagomizer style if it was a rear mounted horizontal instead of a front mounted vertical
I’ve thought about that a lot, ya
Awesome project
Its been a while man! Looks sick!
Good luck! :)
My man, hit up Psychostick for a laugh, their song "do you want a taco" is kinda related. Beautiful food bot!
I love creativity and imagination :)
this made my day

[Rocky training montage music intensifies]
i frickin love your taco bot
I remember watching the UK version Robot Wars as a kid and wanting to build my own bot, maybe one day
Oh damn that look sick!

Our goal is simply to last 3 minutes….
@@CarterHurd win or lose, it's about giving a good show, and I'm sure you'll more than deliver on that
I'm excited to see it in person!
See ya there!
This is absolutely absurd, in the best way possible. LONG LIVE TACO TUESDAY!
cant wait to see you all fight! hope to see you also back in chi town in ant weights
youve come a long way, hope it goes well!
Absolutely hyped for you!
I loved that intro
Thank you! I drew every frame on my iPad and it took forever
I saw Dissaray at the UofA campus pretty crazy to see you fighting them now. goodluck!
How did they look? I have only watched their video and it seemed very, very professional
@@CarterHurd Very well made. I held the fins and they were dense and thick
Love it, can't wait to see it fight.
The robot fighting community is so good

I’ve used Omni wheels for plenty of projects. For this application we prefer the sliding normal wheel
I cannot figure this out
Is it a hard shell or soft shell taco? Because uhmw is soft. But its hard shell shaped
Perfect rival for ripperoni
Mobility seemed to be quite weak with the middle wheel coming off the ground any time you tilt, do you have ideas to improve that?
Our entire front wheel situation was bad. The exact wheel diameter and location can be improved so we can lean over further and still have traction, but our biggest issue was low torque and frequently cutting out: our overheating speed controller kept going into low power mode and also would suddenly cut power due to my crappy PID control settings causing current to spike over the max current limit…

Needs hot sauce.
Awesome job!
That intro was hilarious.
Thank you! It’s going to play on the Jumbotron as we wheel our robot into the arena
Hyped for TACO!!!!
That’s amazing, it’s a big murder taco
Good luck in Vegas! Show them that taco robots are better then normal bots!
I'm so excited for this! Is there a way to watch proving grounds fights? (UK)
I saw the intro, I subscribed.
That intro though LOL
Again. I’m so extremely excited to se this bot fight wish I could be there
this is cool!
The best thing in the history of combat robotics
One Taco Man! that intro is so cute!!
Cracked
such a cool intro hahaha
That's going to be one spicy taco
If you need a taco hat for proving ground, you can borrow ours 👀
I…. Are you near Vegas? Lol
@@CarterHurd Price lives there, she can get it to you before the show on Saturday! 💞
Wanna see this in s8
Can't wait to see how it does at the proving grounds!
Hopefully it does what Battle Royale With Cheese couldn't.
What motors are you using for weapon?
8038s
Taco Hero! 🌮🦸♂️
That's a heavy taco

finally, Robotaco
Bring a lot of frames and outsides to the war ow and a hardox weapon ;)
Yup, that’s the plan. And the weapon for proving grounds was Hardox 450.
What the heck I love this thing
best bot ever
the taco is out for revenge
This is crazy, I was only 10 years old when the first danger zone was created! Crazy how this game had changed!
Best of luck! I absolutely love tacos!!!
I’m curious to see how this does against bots with a strong ground game.
Poorly, lol
The tacos will reign supreme!
BIG TACO LET’S GO RAAAAAAAAAAGH!!
I love this so much 🥹🥹
this is so stupid. i think i’m in love
amazing. from 150g (or 1 pound) to 250 pounds.
neat
The TrollTaco
Some day I hope to see taco v pizza.
Why was it the one punch man intro?
Yeeeeessss!
Krave!
"Taco tooooown!"
The Fiver guy really put his heart into the screaming
LLLLLET'S GET READY TO TACOOOOOOOOO!
holy shit its a taco

"I'll put a link in the description..."
Done! Sorry about that
