You might want to experiment with removing one of the rear stand-off to see if that helps both wheels sit properly on the ground. Getting rid of that fourth point touching the ground should help
I crudely bodged a witch doctor to annoy my brother with and had a similar issue with the wheels, on mine it was because the battery compartment has a raised bit where you put the little screw in, which without the extra wheels on the back would contact the ground and make it spin in circles. I ended up just shoving a tiny bit of like adhesive velcro near the back and that seemed to do the trick thanks for making this video! makes me feel a bit more comfortable opening them up now i've seen it done and know it wont immediately fall apart :)
Cool mod ! Could the traction problem be due the pseudo-weels on the back ? perhaps the one on the left side is a bit "too low" and prevents good contact of that side's wheel ? Would a small adjustement or a center post on the back correct the problem ?
Yeah I think it is a problem with wheel traction I did try adjusting it, but I think it will balance out when I get the metal weapon bar on it. A center post is not a bad idea, I was trying to minimize the damage to the hexbug but that might be a moot point now
Nice build indeed, looks amazing. Shame it didn't drive better in the initial configuration, hope you do well in the upcoming event! If you take the robot to an event with the Malenki, you'll be doing better than me, and I designed the thing. (But that's hardly my fault under the circumstances)
Very cool I always wanted to make a robot in this weight class...finding the proper drive system has always been my hindrance! Been toying with the idea of speed modding sg90s but I like your idea much more...now to find some hexbugs to hack...
@@TeamPanicRobotics I've finished designing a flea fbs, just a matter of waiting till they show up overseas here in the Americas. For now 150g is the smallest :(
Hi Ben. I was wondering if you would make me a vertical spinner that I designed. I have been wanting to get into some competitions and don’t know how to solder or what I need to buy so this could really help me out.
Hi, Sorry no, I dont do commission builds. Between getting my own robots working, running a youtube channel and working I just dont have the time. As for what to buy, my "easiest spinner combat robot" has a full list of all the parts I use. Its a good place to start: th-cam.com/video/sUtezwaurLQ/w-d-xo.html
No motors here have white plastic shafts, they have a white plastic gear pressed onto a metal shaft i dont know the exact name but they are something like: NFP-110-003
It is fun, but its hard to do and they end up as fleaweights which is not a weight class a lot of people build/fight Which is why I've only done 2 of them
Thank you so, so much! Could you also show how you wired up the brushless esc, if you make a review? I’m planning to use the malenki nano in an antweight, but have no clue how to wire it up. In any case thank you for the videos you make, they are fantastic!
y rulers an not razor blades? also tungsten would greatest cut/slicing capabilities, make circular like saw because that is what action you are trying to do an that shape has been found best for that. bars work best when there are two spinning in opposite directions while trying to act like a mouth, an also connected by a half tooth half circle gear an the bar has center cut out in shape of half circle to top an bottom row of teeth to half circle which gives greater range an less of bar under bot not being used.
Thats a planned upgrade for sure, I just need to work out how to get the wheels apart, or find a way to replicate the gear and running surface that is good enough to work
I didnt mention in the video, but I'm going to call this DrCriminal as its a fusion of Witch Doctor and Annie_R_U_OK
I think you're missing a trick with Dr Smooth: th-cam.com/video/8ndTM0oY76E/w-d-xo.html
Huh, there you go, I hadnt heard that song before.
Annie R U Witch Dr?
I love these BattleBot toys, The newer generation ones are heavier but I’m pretty sure they have better parts if you want spares.
Interesting to know the newer ones are heavier, that will make the conversions harder
Would love to see more of these videos, maybe even just upgrade the og hexbugs
That could be fun too!

What about hexbug hypershock im curious or the hexbug modular bots
Do they hold competitions at this weight level?
Not yet
But if I can get it working a few others have built them so we will have some scratch matches
hella yeah more hexbug conversions!
Wierd question... but why does it look so edible?
This Looks Really Awesome 🤩

Yeah, the weight distribution is a bit nuts on the hexbug
It should get fights in March, as long as someone else brings a fleaweight
@@TeamPanicRobotics Done!
Petition !! We need a new dont need roads build !!

I like the challenge of fleas and I'm hoping that by building them I'll inspire others to build them too

Does this count as a kitbash?
Can you please do tombstone?
what is the name of motor that has white plastic shaft

I'm interested in more Hexbug mods into combat ready robots.

Hey, where can you get one of those esc-receiver boards? Can’t, for the life of me find one online
Only really in the UK
shop.bristolbotbuilders.com/product/malenki/ is the one
I'll have a full review out sometime early next month

oh... um,
heeeeeELLO EVERYBODY, I'M BEN FROM TEAM PANIC
try doing something with RotatoR
I dont actually have a rotator, I should get one to check out for sure
u should call it upsidown halo

Make the HexBug as stong as possible forget about rules.
But then its useless...
If I forget about the rules, then its not going to be accepted into any competition, so I cant fight it
