For those of you that love the visuals for this tune, you will want to explore Fractal Art. It's based on math algorythms. There are animations on youtube. The endless changing, growing, yet being the same is mind blowing. And endless fun. Mandlebrot Set and Julia Set are two of the icons of this type of Art. In 1970's slang, "It'll blow the top ov yer skull right off yer head!"
Great choice in 🎶 and the visuals are pretty but it would have worked much better if they were actually fluctuating to the music with some kind of motion.
My favorite song by PT, I kinda would like more music in this style. This sounds sooo much like Pink Floyd, it almost feels more like Pink Floyd than PF themselves haha. Anyone that listens to them would know exactly what I mean by this, the whole way through especially the intro and that screaming David gilmour style solo! Great job on this song and album!
After all, the goal of this album was to make a Pink Floyd album because Pink Floyd stopped doing Pink Floyd stuff. So Steven Wilson took the Wish You Were Here structure and did The Sky Moves Sideways.
I can't decide whether I like Phase I or Phase II more, they are both ridiculously good. That guitar at 3:37 is one of the most intense things I've ever heard, followed by the female vocal part....just WOW!
In the double CD version of TSMS the extra cd includes a combined Phase 1 and 2 song for 35 min of bliss, perfect for sleep for those that take 34 min to drift off...
Let’s face it that worlds long long gone....it seemed to last forever in the 90s watching them then eventually all of a sudden here we are. Bless Steven but sadly quite a lot more irrelevant now.
I don't get why people call the guitar here "Gilmourish". It's more like the opposite. Like the repeated strumming at 5:32 -- Gilmour would have done that with feedback, for a totally different feel. 5:52 is vaguely similar to the Gilmour style, but the resemblance quickly breaks down.
Awesome. Fabulous. Sublime!!!!! This album is a real masterpiece...genius Steven Wilson...fantastic band PT!!! ❤⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thanks. EnzoItaly

Jason I agree. It turned me off because the music did sound too much like Pink Floyd. A crappy Pink Floyd. No one can master the sound...no one.

you mean shine on you crazy diamond mashed into have a cigar? Sounds kinda like that yeah. Amazing tribute tbh.
Imo this sounds nothing like PF other than some small parts and the bass line when the girl vocals are
The guitar solos are reminicient of Pink Floyd but way edgier and dissonant.

Why do you have to choose? Take your time and listen to Phase 1, Phase 2 and Fuse the Sky.
I had heard that part before in a song called "Is not"

@@LostInDark558 "Is Not" is the name of this section of the song.
The images in this video are as trippy as the music :P. Gotta love it
Fractal images..some good software for creating those...and you don't need to be ageek to do it
You learn something new everyday

Amazing music.
The way the mix in modern synthesiser sounds in a heavy rock sound is pretty original.

Nobody has yet mentioned how the background is a complete rip off of Michael Stevens. (Planetary Encounter)

Agreed. The toms are akin to hitting the side of a plastic trash bin with another, smaller plastic trash bin.
