Lyrics: Cocked back .45, hold me- stay alive. Still fresh in my mind, the way that I begged. The things that I said, oh the things that I said. Just a carpenter’s boy on a long ride home, and nobody noticed a boy on his own. Felt the gun to my brain, and the metal sets in. I sink to the ground, as my soul wears thin. And there’s a knife in my back, and blood on your hands. I won’t listen to your dogma, no, I won’t listen to your dogma. Little girl on the street, with blood in your mouth. They’re gonna hang you for it. They’re gonna hang you for it. And then they're gonna need an answer, oh, they're gonna need an answer. And they're gonna need an answer, oh, they're gonna need an answer, oh, they're gonna need an answer now, oh, they're gonna need an answer now. And they'll pay for it. And you will pay for it. Bitter sound of silence, never suited you wrong. I can bury you well. I can bury you well. And I hope you see, the homestretch. And you fall short. You fall short.
It sounds like the Animus/Abstergo music in a lot of the Assassin's Creed themes to me, and the Mass Effect OST and the theme to Stranger Things....well the warbling piano/synth part that starts at the beginning and continues.
Am I the only one who thinks Koda sounds half drunk in this song? Like, I don't mean it in a bad way, I like it, but I'm just curious to see if anyone else thinks the same XD
+BlossomHappyStar Eh, I wouldn't call it drunk, often in his songs, he kind of blurs his words, and in some way it's to put more focus on the background music. I kind of like it, as a lot of songs now a days just put on a base and spew out lyrics, but koda has really beautiful accompaniment, and by not focusing quite as much on the vocal, or maybe individual words, it emphasizes that more.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes. That way I wouldn't have to have any goddam stupid useless conversations with anybody. If anybody wanted to tell me something, they'd have to write it on a piece of paper and shove it over to me. They'd get bored as hell doing that after a while, and then I'd be through with having conversations for the rest of my life.
What? This is a brilliant song regardless if he's trying to "be" Thom Yorke. I'd also disagree with you on that. Koda has a style that may be similar but is something of it's own. Give me an example of how this is him "trying so hard to be Thom" maybe?

The fact that I responded to your original comment, willing to have a discussion with you, for you to then be a jerk with your response suggests you've been disregarding your mental for a lot longer than one episode of shitty jersey shore "bruh"
Definitely a song that will not be forgotten.. I do hope to see this on Spotify one day.
Koda always accentuates the beauty of nature
That intro is gorgeous...
There's a knife in my back, and blood on your hands.
Oh they're gonna need an answer now, and you will pay for it.

You fall short.

Nah still 2020 i talk to you again when it is 2031 tho
Nah mate, '24. I'll talk to you in seven years.
So is this a song about suicide over unreturned love?
I interpreted it as if the girl in the street was jealous of the boy, 'cause he had a home to return to and she did not.
2020?????
Yep 2020
