My husband, John, had called the IRS with a question. The IRS lady gave him a complicated answer. Then John said: "Could you repeat that? I'm old and I'm slow, and I have a cat on my head." She just laughed, said she understood because she also had a cat, and gave him a simplified answer to his question.

Marm is such a goof! I laughed outright when he got stuck under the monitor at the very beginning. You are so good to your kitties, and it shows in how much they love to pester you.
I can tell from Cole and Marmalade's facial expressions and body language that they truly love their human DEARLY. So cool. I love it when cats have the good fortune of having a great human to live their lives with.
I keep a water dish on my desk for my cat. As long as she sees me fill her dish with water from my glass, then she thinks she's drinking the better stuff. Clever human.

I can't work with my cat, nor can I knit, sew, draw, paint nails, wear earrings, shower (alone), go to bathroom (alone) load or unload the dishwasher unless I trick her into hiding in a cabinet or closet for a few mins of respite. Basically my Xmas present (the cat) has control over what I can or can't do.

There is a simple reason cats want to sit in your chair. It's the best chair in the house. It must be, or you wouldn't sit in it.
And there's a reason they deserve to sit in it. They're cuter than you are.

It's the best because their human's smell is on it.
When my cat starts to bother me as I'm working, I take 15 mins off to pet her. That usually leaves her satisfied or even sleepy enough for a long while. Sometimes I may need to type over a large bundle of fur, but at least she isn't walking over the keyboard.
We recently had to put our sweet furbaby down and she would always try to distract me while doing something on the computer like what Cole and Marm do! I miss her a lot.

Whenever my cat is around, he sits on half of my keyboard, which includes, half the alphabet, half the numbers, Shift, Enter, ctrl, alt, all 4 arrows, delete, and AIRPLANE MODE. He also sits on the fast forward+rewind buttons so I can't really watch u-tube when he's around.
These tips are sure to help me :)

Yea once he steals the chair, he gets quite angry about trying to take it back. they also like sit on my arm so I can't use the mouse or keyboard very well.
I love how your cats get into literally everything. I don't think I've ever had a cat who would even notice a paper pinned to a board, much less want to bite it.
I also love how you stop and give them loving pets no matter how much trouble they cause. 🥰

I keep 2 cups of water (never a glass, the cats knock them down too often) near me when I work, one for me and one for the cats, They have their own water bowl but seem to like drinking out of the cup better. Of course I have to keep it filled up so that they do not get their heads stuck in it. :)

jfrontier1 I used to clean for a great family they had a cat named Butterscotch and orange tabby, but he really had that pudding like personality. He'd welcome me in when i came to clean the upstairs bathroom..he'd let me wiped down tub and mirrors but every time I wanted to clean out the duel sinks he'd be camping there, until i discovered he liked the Dixie Cups they used for tooth-brushing. I'd fill one up to overflowing and set it out, he'd take three sips and disappear for the rest of the morning. If I forgot he'd camp out again, patient but persistent until I refilled it.

totally relate to everything in this film, except that my boy cat does something worse --he always begin biting his sister fiercely & making super loud groweling, fighting noises whenever I talk on the phone & Skype, which is annoying especially when I'm taking to important clients. But his attacking behavior stops when my phone talk ends, don't know why he does that!!
+Sarah Chuang Way back when there were no cordless phones, my kids used to do the same (fighting and making a heck of a ruckus). Later they changed things. Every time I was on the phone it got suspiciously quiet and I could be sure they did something forbidden or dangerous or both.
So be thankful, as long as you can hear your cats, you know what they are up to. ;)

drivernjax I afraid that may not help as I've had a cat lie across my laptop and then when I tried to use it afterwards I discovered that the cat had somehow locked my mouse so the cursor wouldn't move. I didn't even know it did that!
Pandora Moon I can relate. My Dixie will sometimes walk across my keyboard and lock up the keyboard. I won't be able to unlock it until I reboot it. I can't figure out what combination of keys she steps on to do that.

my cat tore the e key right off my laptop half an hour after i unboxed it!
the e key is their favorite. it's the most used letter in English, therefore it slows us down the most and it increases the petting-to-typing ratio. these little fuckers are really smart...

This is silly, the solution is so simple. Suspend your work space from the ceiling using hi tensile wire. Make sure there are no cat launching pads within 40 meters and that's it, problem solved.

TheGamingFortress How old is your cat? Age plays a big role, older cats play less than younger cats. One sure fire way to get your cat started in playing is catnip. Take a stuffed cat toy like a mouse, rub catnip on it and give it to your cat. Once the playing starts be sure to play along to encourage your to play. Then introduce other play toys like a feather duster which cats love. Find out what type of play your cat likes and encourage that type of play. Also be sure to talk to your cat during play, cats really respond to your voice while playing. After the fun is over give your cat a tasty treat so your cat will feel rewarded by you for playing together.
I have started that I got him to cat balls that look like Christmas decorations since he plays with them but he won't play if I am there he will just try to rub up against me and then go to sleep so I just leave him to play with the cat balls by him self and then he will come over after about ten minutes and he goes to sleep. He is about seven years now
The good thing is your cat is playing. Older cats will play at their own pace. Keep up the good work.
