    This sounds a lot like star-grounding in audio-amp circuits.
    The fluctuations of voltage dissipation when it's shared between a single line between components creates noise and extra resistance to the ground. When each amp has a direct ground line to the mains the noise problem is solved.

    @propsoff why there is only need to beef up ground wire and not power wire as well? I thought that those to wires need to be of simular diameter

    • @propsoff
      @propsoff  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The ground is the issue because electrons will take the path of least resistance. The ground being lame causes the flow to disrupt the video components and by giving it a solid ground, it allows the flow to be smooth. The biggest issue is the filtration on these boards are not great and the sign wave is of poor quality, thus, improvements to the ground helps clean that up. I've tried to give a couple explanations here, apologies if that makes little sense. It took a year of electronics classes in college to grasp the entire concept, lol.. I have a video that proceeds this one - I'll link it below... I spent about 9 months working things out and the video below is the final result. I wire everything this way, except 1S whoops - they need to be as lite as possible for racing and you get what you get...🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

    hi. i have crux3 with new all in one board with 12amp esc and upto 400mw vtx power and the board get really hot when when i connect it to the betaflight. so i decided to turn down the vtx power to 1 or 2, as it was set to 5 when i checked on betaflight. but here is the problem, when i set the vtx power below to 5 like 4 or 3 or 2 or 1, the videos shows on goggle but as soon as i arm the quad, the video signal get lost and if set the vtx power to 5, video signal stays when i arm the quad. what is the problem, is my flight controller become week because of getting too much hot while connecting to the betaflight?

    • @propsoff

      Would need to meter the VTX output per power assignment to determine if the VTX is bad. I had my MultiGP race director meter mine when it was acting strange. If it was pit mode, it should act the same and not favor a specific power output level. Did you try a new VTX?

    Hi thank you for the video, I’m having an issues with the plugin wire harness from my flight controller to the VTX. I believe that the wires of the harness maybe lose , causing lines and loss of video, yet the vtx will still transmit a signal even with there is no video which leads me to believe that the issue is the the wire harness and not the FC or the VTX . Any help or advice would be appreciate.

    • @propsoff

      I think adding the second one is the best. It allows the path to ground, come directly to the component in need. I played around more with this concept in another video and was surprised of the finicky behavior displayed by the FPV system. More grounding the better seemed to play out.

    • @propsoff

      All grounds are common - path of least resistance. We don't want voltage to build in the video component and a proper ground will open the flood gates (voltage/current in these systems are not in short supply) .
      Also, grounding properly, will kill RF interference. I have another video after this one, "Best FPV Video Ever", that dives deeper.. I have an Electronics Degree with well over 25 years of field repair. Learning electronics isn't a quick process, therefore, I'm happy to help...🍻

I'm going to change it to 9 volt like I had it I just noticed my camera was on vcc last time I should have changed it over to nine volts instead of the VTX to vcc... • @propsoff
      @propsoff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@coltonrooster
      If your VTX is rated for 2-6s then it is okay to power it from a 9-volt pad from the flight controller.. Normally, this would add some capacitance to it that may help (noise reduction).. Then, connecting your camera to the VTX (output pad) is acceptable. However, if your camera must be capable of receiving 9 volts from your VTX.. There are some cameras and there are some VTXs that can only handle 5 volts in, so, just be careful.. What you cannot do is to put two outputs together - it seems like you're far enough along and understand that.
      My preference, I usually like to use the output voltage pad and ground from the VTX for the camera because of better filtration, but a lot of companies are cheaping out and the VTXs on the market anymore seem like garbage..
      So run the VTX from the 9v out pad on your flight controller. Also, run the camera from the VTX, if you want. Then, run a ground to the ground of the camera ground as a 3 way intersection. Should be good..
      Note!!! I am not there to personally guide you and don't want bad things to happen, so read the manuals..🍻

    • @coltonrooster
      @coltonrooster 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@propsoff Thank you so very much for tanking the time... I had wondered if the filtration would be better through the vtx thanks for clearing that up as well. Hopefully I can fix it properly now. It should be pointed out and is worth noting the obvious fix you've accomplished with a redundant ground. Soldering as a welder is relatively easy for me to understand but whenever you take too long or forget a cleaning step or shake a little too much it can be a pain...

    Best practice dictates removing the original ground wire when running a low impedance "star" ground point. Otherwise you are creating a ground loop, just thought I'd point that out. A "redundant ground" is another way of saying "ground loop", generally frowned upon.

    See here’s my issue when I first arm I have these awful squiggly lines that come in on my feed and my osd is flickering and moving up and down. When I punch the throttle it fixes it sometimes but only when punched throttle and if I play with it I can eventually get perfect image at whatever throttle range including idle. Well I thought I was getting a voltage spike to my vtx or something i installed a 12 volt bec (vtx range is 5 volt-36volt and I was within these parameters before bec) still does it with bec now when I disarm it like it resets and I have to punch it to get good video I’m not sure what’s going on and the squiggly lines are motors speed changed (higher throttle the faster they squiggle)
