- Yes....another build series. Decided to take on an overland build for this D1 while also working on the two Range Rover Classic builds. Why? Because three builds are always better than one. Follow along and enjoy :)

I have a arb bumper on mine but I’m kinda digging the low profile look

From South Africa just fitted an ARB bull bar From a D1 which I got for a song and a dance in a hoola-skirt onto my D II facelift. I also mounted a pull-pal across the front.
Other resources include a winch, and a Record vice on the top left light protector bar.
Now, my issue is a tow point. I'm not that comfortable mounting towhooks to the flat sheet-metal of the bumper, it seems a little thin, still thinking the problem but 2 soft shackles round the thick pipes seems to be an option mine is a 2002 td5 auto facelift

Just returned from 2 accessory fitment centre's, need to mount 3 tow hooks onto the bullbar mounting plate that bolts to the chassis, one on each side &connect with a bridle (to share the load....
Point being...
These projects are unending...
In the meantime it's OK 👍 to use my winch hook as a tow connection , you may find that snippet of info worth knowing.
your tow points are going to rattle around alot until you install your snap rings.

I wish the bumpers were interchangeable I have this same bumper for the d2 I want to put on my d1
I think you can usually make a D2 version work on a D1 if you are willing to drill some

Just got a Red 1999 D1 to add to my two 1995 RRC builds going on...one in Balmoral Green! Love this front bumper - mind sharing link of where I can get this in the US?
Awesome! Sounds like my garage 🤣 The bumper wasn’t available in the US when I purchased. Had to buy from the UK and ship.

Awesome! Thanks for following along. Sort of. The general widths are similar but the alignment of the mounting points and bolts to the frame are usually different, so it requires some fabrication work.
