Books, games and comics will generally not be used, though some minor crossover will occur from time to time. Although Star Trek: The Animated Series, is technically not canon, more and more people are starting to accept it, and so this channel will consider it canon except where it contradicts the other shows or movies.

The Beta canon has many interesting ideas, extrapolations and retcons though.The Arretians and Q are fascinating as well as the Progenitor... i like the idea that the Preservers were descendants of tbe Progenitors or a race created by them, well to preserve.But that is fan-theory... i'd actually wish they would do some more work on the prehistory of Star Trek... theres some fascinating stuff there!

Can someone explain to me the federation space thats deep in tbr beta quadrant and cut off by the Klingon Empire territory? How do they govern and get there without violating borders and treaties?
They can go around or through the klingons empire (they have treaty), but it is harder to get there, which is why the Dominion attacked those far away area during the Dominion War.
@@CivilizationEx That treaty is always hit or miss. They always are cautious in Klingon territory. Maybe max Warp a agreed path way. Still doesnt make sense or explained
What doesn't make sense? Even without the Klingon Empire they can access these areas it just takes longer, and these places were brought into the federation over many years, Kirk explored these areas, before the current borders of the 24th century were established.
@@CivilizationEx they cant get to them without violating territory. Thats why it doesnt make sense. And it has never been said Federation has a free fly through in order to get to these territories. It needs to be addressed
But they can get there, space is 3d, they can go above, below or around to get there, they even show how in the Star Trek Charts book, so I'm not sure what you mean?
