Well who else has an F3 or just stopping in to see the video? What are your thoughts on the bike? I failed to mentioned that my other like is the quickshifter with auto blip, launch control and the cruise control. (Even though I never use the cruise control😂)
I currently own a 2022 Rosso... the only thing I don't like is the blipper. It's like a dark art to get it to work.. its enabled in the menus, but only works around 4k revs and below..5th and 6th won't blip above 4k revs... but 4th, 3rd and 2nd will... even into 1st. The upshifts works everytime at any revs and gears... but the blipper is weird. You had any experience like this?
Thanks for the video. I've had many MVs since 2000 when they came out. In July 2022, my last one a 2020 F3 left me stranded on the freeway. Pushed it a mile to get to a gas station. When I got to the dealer, I traded it in for an RAV4 which is a great bike but I still miss the MV. Your video reminded of the brake issues and battery issues I had. I'll wait and see if KTM can do something with the brand. But, considering the number of owners since 2000, I wouldn't hold my breath.
For the draw problem, there's a mobisat tracker under plastic cover that's under the passenger seat. That tracker heavily draws the battery when not activated, and often gets forgotten. Remove the rear fairing and the black center plastic cover over the wheel, and you should be able to remove it from below. It's a box plugged to a white plug :). That gave me at least 10 days without the battery dying (haven't tried longer, don't have access to power in my garage, don't want to try ahahah). The bike still has a draw problem even without the tracker, but removing it improves things a little.
There are updated bulletins for rear brake reservoir relocation and clutch cable rerouting, both under warranty. The front brake lines are steel braided.
Your opening comments about the lack of familiarity with F3s and MV Augusta (in general) here in the U.S. made me chuckle. The utter dearth of MV dealerships in the States is the reason. Unless you live in California or Florida, you'd be hard-pressed to find a dealership within a reasonable distance for purchase, and for certified service. I live in the Charlotte, NC area (the nation's second largest financial center, behind NYC) and there isn't an MV dealership here. I have the means to buy a new MV Dragster, but I'm not willing to travel up to Indianapolis, IN to buy one.
Yeah I have to drive 3 hours to Indianapolis as well or further to Chicago. I believe there is one in St, Louis now and someone was saying there is one in Atlanta.

I’ve 3 BMWs, and although there is a BMW dealer closer to me (they also sell Ducatis and Triumphs) here on the south side of CLT, Team Charlotte has a phenomenal Service team that specializes in Eurobikes. That's an alarming amount of problems for a $20,000 bike. No rear brake, very difficult to do basic maintenance. It's a beautiful bike but those are massive red flags.

@@itsmeericb Yeah my KTM RC 30 is kind of similar you pretty much have to take the entire tank off just to get to the spark plug but that's really it and it doesn't cost $20K. I'd love an F3 RC but when your spending that much on a bike there BETTER be a working rear brake lol
The brake problem is from heat soak to the reservoir in city traffic. Not enough air flow. Just like the Ducati heat soak issue. That happens to be your legs. Or the BMW heat soak issue that is your junk. MV has a fix for the brake problem.
What people are not told about MV Agusta is, they are a small niche true hand-built motorcycle company in the North of Italy. The last figures I found for a yearly production number is a total of all the models produce was around 5,000. As far as they are concerned, they had a banner year. About the aftermarket lack of support is because of that fact. If you want to get carbon fiber panels and parts you do not buy the F3 base model. You buy the F3 RR or RC with a race kit. In 2022 they only made 300 F3 RC to give you an idea of the exclusivity of that model let alone the brand. Also, the dealer I went to made me aware of when it is parked it is on the charger that comes in the race kit. If you have to travel any amount of time to get to a dealer to buy one, you have to own the fact that is where you have to go back to for service. So that is not on MV. Their dealership network is only in major market areas. Supposable since the KTM partnership happened this was to open up distribution avenues for Bikes and parts. So, if you have a KTM dealer near you it might be worth a call to them to see if they are involved with that process. Not all are. Case in point I have a Yamaha dealer near me that sells KTM. They chose not to participate in that program. I am lucky cause Chicago has two dealerships that handle MV Agusta. Motoworks Chicago and Motor Cycle Center, Villa Park, IL.
All well said points! Yes MV is a small company and not as big as someone like Ducati. As I stated you have to know what you are getting into when you decide to get an MV Agusta. The closet dealer to me is 3 hours away in Indianapolis and the Chicago location is 7 hours. I do have a KTM dealer about an hour from me so I will call and see if they are servicing MV Agusta.
You don't use bikes like these(no matter if it's a 2023 mv brutale 1000RR/the new Brutale Assen Edition/or Rush 1000 Limited Edition) for every day riding reliability bikes. They are NOT for everyday riding/daily driver or 'bike only' type of transportation. If something happens, it takes way too long to get it fixed not including time it takes to bring it to the nearest qualified dealership..That's why I have the 2024 3rd Generation Suzuki Hayabusa. It's fast(not the fastest; but who is going to go 190 mph down the highway or street anyway), stable, most reliable motorcycle in the world, most reliable motorcycle engine in the world, can bring it to the track and still ride it back home without your butt hurting, comfortable to ride all day long, parts are exceedingly easy to attain, takes less than a day to install any and all parts for quick servicing, great for touring and can be a "daily driver" under ALL circumstances and weather(except for having ice on the ground); and can be ridden 200,000 miles, or more, without any engine, mechanical or electrical issues, while keeping regular maintenance schedule. I'll NEVER go to another brand for no reason...
if it's any consolation, rear brakes on most bikes are practically useless for stopping. It's really almost always just the front doing a big part of the stopping.
Pretty much but I’ve also owned others bike where the rear brake was awesome. Like I mentioned, i barely used mine anyway. If you are an advanced track rider the rear brake has its benefits.
I know what it’s for. I’m just saying only a few brands do it, not all bikes. Also doesn’t matter if it’s in gear, the start button won’t activate unless it’s in neutral.
Yeah my clutch cable was replaced under warranty after only 2 weeks of me having it. It took 3 weeks for me to get the bike back 🙄 it’s had burnt by the header on cylinder 3. Dealer replaced the cable and replaced the heat shield.
@@itsmeericb how you’ve described your issue, it’s doesn’t severe as mine, could yours have already been replaced? I started noticing my on the second day of me having it, with barely a 100 miles on. The bike had really bad clutch fade and the lever became extremely knotty. I’ve put 400 miles or so on this weekend since getting it back and the problems now thankfully non existent
As an inexperienced cyclist who hopes to start riding one day, how am I supposed to brake properly with only the front brake? This doesn’t seem safe or ethical.
Majority of your braking is done with the front brake. Only 20-30% comes from the rear. If you brake too much in the rear it will just lock up and slide. On track you really don't use the rear brake at all until you become more advanced and you can then use it to back into a turn. Meaning you sort of drift.
I've seen several folks go for the exclusivity with an Italian steed. Most decided pretty quickly to stick to Japanese ingenuity. Brakes and clutch come standard from our friends in the land of the rising sun. ✌️

I'm new to bikes, I've had my 450cc for 2yrs now hoping at the end of the my 3rd year to upgrade to 23-24 MV Agusta F3 RR. Soo in love with the bike but scared at the same time 😂 of making a bad financial mistake. Looking to buy used at around $17k or less.
Definitely get a used one if you can to save a bit of money. All bikes have their flaws and none are perfect. If it’s something you really want, don’t let what other people say scare you from fulfilling your dream. The things I e experienced with mine may not happen to you although some things are common. Just be sure to maintain it and have fun.
what do you think is a better track bike ? f3 rc ? zx6r(636) or gsxr 750 and how does the size feel ? does it feel like a 600 when you sit on it ? Or bigger ?
@@MrBolioclyde All can make for good track bikes. The F3 is a good track bike and I don’t have any experience with the others on track. Only been in the street with the others. The F3 feels like a 600 when you’re on it.
For a track bike, I'd probably prefer a bike where a potential crash won't set me back as far - since I prefer pushing it to the edge of what I can get away with. I'd rather potentially crash on a gixxer while finding the limit and afterwards being able comfortably drive it at 99% of the limit - instead of buying a bike that I'd never push past 80% in fear of the bill after finding the limit.
It's not in the manual, but the red plug underneath the rear seat- disconnect it and all your battery problems will be gone. That's the GPS unit which is flawed by design.
Lord have mercy. I couldn't own it. I'm far too lazy for all that lol. I can let my '23 Busa sit for a month and it fires right up. And when the riding season is over...two bolts, remove seat, then remove battery, put it on charge.
Great handling on this thing, unfortunately parts take forever and the reliability is probably the poorest out of all italians... 4 months in and the bike leaked coolant, and from there I am now waiting for a whole new ECU to replaced under warranty lol
If they can't get the easy stuff, how can you trust anything else on these bikes. That's why I scratched the MV off my list. It's also the logic why I own a Porsche and not a Ferrari 😮
I think i am way to in love with the bike to be scared by those little issues.. The dealer and garage for me here in the Uk is literally 1 mile away from home. Got it new with 4years warranty, so no trouble 😈

The rear brake is warranty work now. Dealerships will now replace them with the relocation kit for free, and they did a good quality job with it.

This looks like the most comfortable sportbike for a pillion passenger on the market. Flat long rear seat and not super high in the air

I don’t daily ride this bike. I only ride on the weekends in the twisties and at the track.
I love F3s, they are my favorite “Supersport” currently on the market.
The mod on the rearbrake is under warrenty and it works. The brakeweight you can throw away❤

I got the F3 2024 but I bought the Fresco exhaust ...the sound is soooo hot
That clutch thing when starting is so you don't start it while in gear. Cars have been doing it for years😂

If that’s what you really want don’t let it scare you away. The dragster may not have the same issues as the F3.

Get whatever you’re happy with but I’ve ridden a lot of liter bikes and less horsepower bikes are just more fun to ride.
