In my opinion, the best album of Paradise Lost is "Draconian Times" and "Icon" loses with it, but literally by a hair. What is the "Draconian Times" winning? Better production and more commercial potential (that's what an inner cynic tells me) Nevertheless, it does not change the fact that "One Second" will always be the one closest to my heart. Agree with you. Icon is the best album. Although I'm a huge fan of the commercial era 1997/2005. One second and Draconian are amazing but Icon is far better... Nick's voice already evolved in Icon. Less scream but not yet sing. Just in between

Of course they made Masterpieces like Icon, Draconian, One second, or more recently Medusa... But Shades of God is also brilliant than Host in my opinion... Different mood and chants but solid.
Mouth was the first song i heard from them and Belive in nothing was my first PL album. So it has a special place in my heart even if i don't return to this one realy often.
It was more the recording process than the songs, from all accounts. They weren't allowed to record the album together and did their parts separately. It's a big reason they aren't happy with it, as while the songs are good, there wasn't a cohesiveness in the recording process. A lot of the mixing and mastering also was done without their involvement, which also led to their disconnect with the album.
One of the best albums they ever recorded :)

Greg once said he didn't consider 'believe in nothing ' as part of the discography but this song is one of my favs of 'em , i can't be helped
