I love it! I just got the power nozzle set for my E2 Platinum, and it has become my daily vacuum cleaner. Yes, cleaning out the water basin can be a pain, but not as bad as searching out bags or washing filters and waiting for them to dry. The power of it is unbeatable. Oh so excited for this one!! I am ready to start saving for my vacuum & you helped me get that much more motivated. I mean this one has a timer to clean the air!! 🤩 I grew up with one from the 90s My mom still has it & takes it in for maintenance! I use that one at my house until I buy my own & oh boy this one’s it!! 😆
The new rainbow looks like great machines. Finally a good vid of the new system that’s not rexair sponsored. Oh the previous machine is not called the black diamond. It’s the e2 black series. Lol just have thing for things being called what they are suppose to be. Hope these new srx models stand the test of time without lots of problems. I’m really most excited about the sleek looks and more importantly it’s like rainbow finally made a good powerhead!! All the others over the years have just been okay power heads. But this new one seems to be much much superior.
The power nozzle is basically the PN2(e) platform. It just adds the neck and belt design from the PN12 v2 and the slider valve from the R series rectangular power nozzles. In some ways it's a step backwards from the 12 and improvements of the PN2(e) series units.
I want to get an SRX someday. It sounds better than the E2 series and would find the 4 speed settings a boon because I like to lower the suction to vacuum the drapery without accidentally sucking it off the rods. Water filtration vacuums are the final frontier in my opinion.
The E2 black series is probably the best Rainbow model in terms of overall power and build quality. The SRX, as nice as some of the improvements are doesn't have as much power (at least from tests performed by other vacuum aficionados and youtubers) as well as being slightly klunkier since it can't sit on stairs like the previous models as well as no way of having expanded capacity like the 4 qt options on older machines or going back to the 2 1/2 gallon options for machines even older than the D4 range. That being said, I would still love to try one just to see if it does well.
@OneDayAfterAnother Yup.. I used to have gold 2 speed before the black, but I made one fatal mistake and accidentally dropped it from a very low staircase(R.I.P) :/ I'm using the black since 2015 and It's a beast of a machine.
Thank you I needed a demo and I know that yours is the only TH-cam actual demonstration of the new Rainbow vacuum._.. We got it recommended by a health conscious care- worker [ for my father 93 years old] to take care of the air quality/ allergies that we both have daily health problems with.>> really hope I can get it in Australia? And that there is a cheaper refurbished model as I believe $4000 AU dollars[for SRX] is out of our price range for any vacuum.>> there for I would appreciate any help regarding an Australian based purchase?
I have a question where can you buy fragrances that a little bit cheaper for these types of vacuums because what they're charging while I live course I live in Cincinnati Ohio and what they're charging for the fragrances is anywhere from 8 to $9 just for one little bottle of oil and if you vacuum a lot on you had your air purifier through the rainbow running a lot those little bottles go through quickly and not only that the newer rainbows have filters and the back that soaks up a lot of it smells so do you have to use a fragrance or no although I like to use them because it makes vacuum and not only fun but also it smells really really nice most other vacuums you had that Dusty musty type smell but this you turn on it's like freshness all the time is my aunt has a D4L rainbow those back then didn't have filters in it like we have now so I was just asking about the Franklin's where can I buy some that are little bit more reasonable
I live in Cincinnati Ohio I just got mine maybe 2 months ago and oh my gosh you would not believe what stuff comes up through this machine into the water this is an amazing machine it's very expensive maybe about $3,000 but it's worth every penny because if you buy a Kirby and Kirby with a bag uses micro holes that fills up and sometimes when those holes clogged it did vacuum does not perform in who wants to keep buying vacuum bags not me so the neighbor my was telling me about the rainbow and I have an aunt that has an old rainbow a factor rainbow is older than me because I'm 32 years old and she got her rainbow back in the early 70s so that rainbows pretty old and it still works today brand new just like it did if you got it out of the box but I love my machine I can't wait to get the shampooer attachment and all the other little attachments that that you have to pay extra for that's the only downfall with rainbow you have to buy the the other attachments separate versus buying a Kirby you get everything but now I know why you get everything with a Kirby because you need all that extra stuff to clean stuff that the Kirby Company behind with the rainbow they're guaranteed if you vacuum your carpets with the rainbow you probably won't even need to get them steam clean because it's going to pull so much dirt out of there to where you won't even need a steam cleaner that's why they make you buy everything separate because they're sure that you won't need all that other stuff but they have it available and I'm going to get the shampooer attachment but let me just say this is a phenomenal machine anyone who buys it will be glad you're did my wish I knew about these many many years ago I would have had one many many years ago but they change features every time they come out with a new model and it just gets better and better so I highly recommend this is amazing amazing machine highly recommended give it a try you won't be sorry especially when you clean your mattress all I'm dust mites and thing so if you have asthma allergies watery nose sneezing during the night you probably just need a good cleaning so get a rainbow you'll be glad you did I am happy with mine thanks
@@calvinbryant1124 I wouldn't recommend that. No matter the vacuum, it's very time consuming to get that stuff out and it may act like cat litter when mixed with the water and gum up the water basin. The only reason I used my Rainbow was to get whatever was left AFTER getting the worst of it with a cheap store bought machine. 😎
I miss my D4 SE PN2!!! Just wish finding parts for it wasn't beginning to be an issue... that's why I found it a new home... Rexair will be discontinuing parts for those models soon 💔💔
There are still so many of the machines still out there, being such a popular model 😂 even ones that don't run the best make great parts donors! That's why I'm not too terribly worried about stuff being disco'd. I put several hours worth of work into my SE to get it where it needs to be and it was worth the trouble. The D3C didn't need much more than some tuning. I'll definitely be purchasing one more of each just in case haha
@@sunstroke21 it would be awesome if another company would copycat that model of (Rainbow) because I definitely like certain features of that one over my new one lol
I love my SRX! Do you know if the previous model RainJet will work with SRX? Also, do you have a problem with the hose getting muddy/nasty from water passing through it from the RainJet? Thanks!
Thank you. Do you know if water passing through the wands and hoses causes any issues with rust or build up? I’ve been reluctant to test my aqua mate and rain jet.
I have a one year old black lab. She sheds like hell. It gets all over everything. I have a rainbow d3c. Never had my carpet been cleaner. Even though it’s older they still work better than most vacuums made today. Plus they can be picked up relatively cheaply online. Not to mention if you have an issue, parts can be found online and you can easily fix it with just a screwdriver.
Do you need to change another air filter or you just need to change the water before each use? Can you use normal cleaners like Fabuloso, Mr Clean, Pine Sol, etc with the water tank?
Héctor Fernando There is a secondary filter, the HEPA filter that needs to be changed every 4-6 years depending on use. Be careful what you put into the water as whatever you do, you end up breathing... I have used Bleach before and it takes care of ALOT of odors and sanitizes the air too!
@@colterkardas4105 so is bleach okay to use?!?! I'm a freak who loves the smell of bleach, and almost put bleach in mine, but was afraid it might hurt it somehow?
Ida Belle Jones Bleach is okay, yes. Just a tiny bit though, like a teaspoon... and don’t overfill the basin with water either... I use bleach in mine to kill air born germs or to sanitize the HEPA filter 😁
@@colterkardas4105 great to know! I'm actually attempting the fast track to get mine paid for. Obviously I clean the basin with bleach after use but was afraid running it with some may hurt the motor some how since they mentions putting Essential oils in it could. Thanks again and great video!
@@idabellejones8362 Essential Oils can really do that? I have the E2 model, and have been using them in it for years. I clean my machine once a year, and have no problems with the motor. Is this a problem with this new model in the video?
I'm confused so is this only a carpet cleaner or can you vacuum your hardwood surfaces with it and is it also a air purifier can you use it as that also?
Rose Gold It is a total home cleaning system that uses the water as the primary filter. You can use it to clean the air, vacuum the floors and furniture and it does have a carpet shampooer attaché me the with it as well. I just don’t have that particular attachment...
It looks kinda outdated to me. I love the sleek look of the e2 black series. All black with dark blue accents would have me sold immediately! I don't like the grey on the power nozzle either :/ i like the new features. Kinda makes me want to head over to the rainbow office and try it out!
Andrea D What I do is I have a strainer that I use outside so all the hair and globs of debris get stuck in the strainer and the water goes through... then just dump the strainer when that gets full...👍
Daphne Anderson If you purchased your Rainbow from an authorized Rainbow retailer, they may be able to hook you up with something... how thick of a shag rug we talking? I may just use the upholstery tool on your hands and knees if it’s really thick... it will get more of the deep dirt out... and flip the rug over and vacuum the back of it with the power head and that will vibrate some of the deep down dirt out and then re-vacuum the shag part with the upholstery tool... I hope this helps :-)
Did you compare the rainbow product with another one? What was it and with what the rainbow is better than others? I know rainbow cleans with water. There are a lot of vacuum cleaners that use water to clean. Also did you know about the new technology of vacuum cleaners that don't have bags (and don't use water)?
Where have you seen many that clean with water? I have only seen one and that is the Quantum one. Quite a bit less, but no air filtering. It's an upright.

After having purchased the new rainbow SRX I can say it is very disappointing. The power has been reduced from the E series. As you can see from another review posted on TH-cam. The power head can not pick up sand from a wood floor. Personally, I hate the new power head. When using it I found it pulled as if it were self-propelled, but not in a good way. It seems to skim over my carpet instead of getting down in and removing the dirt. Since the handle has no switch there is a very sensitive trigger one has to hold on to. This made me crazy. I would much prefer a switch like every other vacuum has. Rex Air also made the new power head taller so it no longer goes under some of my furniture. The other design issue I have is that the belt for the power brush comes in contact with all of the dirt thus wearing it out faster not to mention being able to get into the workings. The vacuum itself is not light and is not that easy to pull around on medium to high pile carpeting. Rainbow knows if people can see the dirt then they think their vacuum is really doing a good job of cleaning. This is why they have that bright light used during demonstrations. Dyson has sold a lot of their vacuums with the same marketing. The best vacuum is still a bagged vacuum that has a sealed system. What saves the Rainbow is its Hepa filter. That is what catches most of the dirt and dust. If you run a Rainbow without one, it would never pass a particle test. Finally, the Rainbow is the most over priced vacuum at $3200 (about $1100 more if you sign up for their payment plan) I have ever seen. My sympathies to those who have wasted their money on one. My sales person offered my the Rainmate which is a room deordorizer for free. She had made the claim that it cleans the air which is false. It is not designed for that. It is a $199 unit that has a bowl and a motor with a fan. You put the scent in the water and turn it on. It works, but makes noise and takes up space. I am happier with my plug-in deordorizer which allows me to control how much scent is released.
I have NEVER had to replace my HEPA because I empty the water when I’m SUPPOSED to... all of these points you listed are about improper use of the machine, negligence or plain laziness. But thanks for commenting 😘
Actually in vacuum nut's defense, I can see where he's coming from. Through the years that I've spent on collecting, repairing, and selling vacuum cleaners, I can clearly tell that all of his views he pointed here are just design flaws. Now I have yet to use a SRX and I would VERY much would like to try one out just for fun or even add one for my collection. However based on from what I've gathered and studied on the SRX, I am honestly disappointed so far with Rexair. I know two other collectors who own or have used the SRX before and they're also disappointed as well. Probably the biggest disappointment so far is for a fact that these got recalled earlier this year due to fire hazards. For a vacuum that's listed for over $3,000 to get recalled that early is totally UNEXCEPTABLE! In fact, that's WAY too much to spend on a vacuum cleaner. There's no way in hell I would pay that much for a vacuum cleaner, especially for it being portable. I can get a top of the line central vacuum for less money and it would even out clean any Rainbow that's on the market. I mean no offense here. If you like your Rainbow, that's totally fine. But before you'd reply back to someone assuming they were either not using their machine correctly or that something's wrong with their Rainbow, it's always a good idea first to ask questions about someone's machine here. I'm pretty certain vacuum nut here did everything right to his Rainbow. Also on a side note here, eventually the filter on the SRX will need to get replaced. I can guarantee that water WON'T trap everything!
@Panasonicvac4036 Your response is very typical for someone that owns a vacuum store and fixes vacuum’s. I have never had to change my Hepa on mine but once. If your not cleaning the Separator and changing the water then it wont filter very well and your filter will will be dirty. Something to say about central vacuum’s they lose airflow . Your going from the main unit , piping and then the airflow has to make all the way to the power nozzle. Plus it will run up your electricity bill
Man, we really screwed up several years ago and let a slick talking sales person talk us out of our Rainbow to buy a vacuum called the Pig. Big mistake. We tried the Dyson. Big mistake. We truly miss the water washed air smell that we enjoyed from our Rainbow. It is true that wet dust doesn’t fly. Does anyone know the price on the SRX?
Scott Weaver The Rainbow has definitely helped me with my allergies and having fresher air in the home. The water captures 99.99% of household dirt and dust but the .01% that may escape the water is captured by the HEPA filter on the back. The Rainbow is sold by independent distributors all over the world and the prices from each office vary... I live in Idaho so the price I paid will be greatly reduced I’d say purchased in California or New York...
Scott Weaver Im an independent Dealer, the Rainbow SRX is selling for $3,598.95. Here in Florida.. if you make an appointment you get a 600.00 Discount the day of the presentation!!! $2,998.95 .. Plus you can actually do the RTP program to get all your money back for the Rainbow...! $3,000.00 Rebate....
I just bought mine and became a dealer in the process. I tested to answer your question: On the lowest setting, it runs @ 25db. If you are interested in a demonstration, feel free to reach out. :)
Don’t get me wrong, it does a wonderful job of cleaning but it’s a preference thing for me. As far as putting all that together when I can just plug my hose into the wall and vacuum. Dirt goes outside as well. Now, I will say with water, definitely getting clean air. It’s just too loud and too much to put together for me. Don’t want anyone to think I’m hating.
I used to work for Rainbow many years ago and I'm interested of buying one. Looking for one that vacuums shampoo injects Vicks in your pillow when your sick and purifies the air from bacteria in your room can anyone subject the right one Thank you

The SRX looks cool with new flashy buttons, but E2 black is better in terms of performance and durability. So I'll stick with E2 black!
And that there is a cheaper refurbished model as I believe $4000 AU dollars[for SRX] is out of our price range for any vacuum.>> there for I would appreciate any help regarding an Australian based purchase?
my vacum clener The SRX Rainbow turns itself off when in use
great demo...thx for taking the time!
The power nozzle brings me back to the D4 SE years. Even though these things are a fortune it’s a stunning machine!
Cordless will be the deal breaker too. Will definitely get one if cordless n battery rechargeable. Yay.
Looks nice, some features are much better than the older one which we have. I wonder how much better it is than the older one
Id be happy to discuss that with you :)
Thanx for the vid, very informative and helpful 👍
I love this rainbow srx.
So are you saying it's not safe to use carpet fresheners with the rainbow?
@@calvinbryant1124 I wouldn't recommend that. No matter the vacuum, it's very time consuming to get that stuff out and it may act like cat litter when mixed with the water and gum up the water basin. The only reason I used my Rainbow was to get whatever was left AFTER getting the worst of it with a cheap store bought machine. 😎
Congratulations and lots of luck with it!! Enjoy!
mike migliorino Thanks! I hope you can get one some day :-)
Still love my D3C and D4 SE 😆 but it'd be fun to have one of these
I miss my D4 SE PN2!!!
Closest thing to the D4 is the CTX from Prolux
@@sunstroke21 don't know that! I'll look into this! Thanks! And thanks for watching!
I love my SRX! Do you know if the previous model RainJet will work with SRX? Also, do you have a problem with the hose getting muddy/nasty from water passing through it from the RainJet? Thanks!
Bill Army Previous model Rainjet will work with the SRX :-)
Thank you. Do you know if water passing through the wands and hoses causes any issues with rust or build up? I’ve been reluctant to test my aqua mate and rain jet.
As long as you are letting the Rainbow run for about 10-15 minutes after picking up moisture, the hoses will be come dry and will not rust :-)
Colter Kardas do you leave the water basin in the machine when you let it run to dry out the hose?
I'm looking into purchasing one, can you tell me if it's good for picking up pet hair? I have two cats. Thank you.
Yes picks up hair like CRAZY, its awesome!!
How is your base glowing? Mine doesn’t do that
Do you need to change another air filter or you just need to change the water before each use?
So after you clean, what do you do with the dirty water? Pour it down the drain? Outside?
Andrea D What I do is I have a strainer that I use outside so all the hair and globs of debris get stuck in the strainer and the water goes through... then just dump the strainer when that gets full...👍
I have 4 Rainbows, 2 E2 black and 2 E2's, cant wait to get the SRX in the UK. Thanks for the video please post more!
Does it seal the carpet better then previous Rainbow ?
What is the MSRP of the SRX? Can't find that info anywhere on the internet.
Can this shampoo carpet well?
So they have something that works for wood floors
Just bought an are shag rug. Is there an attachment for your other model (the model I have.) ??
Damn, that’s nice
How much dirt did it pull from carpet. Like to see the dirty water.
Can't wait to get one
I’m a distributor. I can send you one if you haven’t purchased one yet.

Tyler Crabtree it’s a certified air cleaner that has the functionality to vacuum and also has a shampoo attachment. 👍
Oh ok thanks

That’s what I was wondering. I just bought it and was going to take my old one for a trade in. I might just keep my old one just in case.
How do you get one of these? Why don't they have an online store that I can buy one from?
Michael They are sold all over the world by Independent Distributors via in-home presentations. If you visit www.Rainbowsystem.com, you can find a Distributor near you :-) I hope this helps!
@@colterkardas4105 yes same with german ritello r2.cant buy anywhere but from a sales person or recommendation. except comparing to rainowb you have here this thing can do way more things its insane. its like 20 in 1 vacuum, sanitizer, disinfectant, ait cleaner, air purifier, humidyfire, etc etc etc. i just love it..
Id' buy one, but they make it so damn hard for anyone to buy it. I don't want a damn salesman at my house.
380stroker I didn’t either. I contacted the distributor and asked him if I had to have a demonstration and he told me that I didn’t if I didn’t want one. We did my purchase at his office. He did a quick run through of the machine and the parts and that was it. Took less than 20 minutes.

How much did you have to pay for it? I am having a sales person come by tormorrow.
I don’t feel comfortable saying the exact price LOL
But the prices are around $2-3K...
How does this compare to the Rainbow D2 PN canister? Great video!
Sorry, but does it make lots of noise? I remember my mom's model like 15 years ago...it was powerful but noisy.
more power=more noise
@@colterkardas4105 ahaha exactly...

Is old aquamate work with new model?
If you have been using the Black Diamond Rainbow, yes. Previous models will not, unfortunately. :(
Man, we really screwed up several years ago and let a slick talking sales person talk us out of our Rainbow to buy a vacuum called the Pig.
