That actually seems to explain a lot. Especially, we know that this is from the general perspective of the fire nation's view of the Gaang and their adventures throughout the series. I am totally open to the possibility that while the sources were people that the Gaang interacted with in some way throughout the series, the inputs from each of those people was interpreted through a fire nation perspective lens, and specifically that could have been the lens of Azula's perspective.
the play is simply propaganda. Sokka is portrayed as an airhead douche because he is the "mind" of team avatar. Katara is the optimistic one, so they exagerated that trait and made her a drama queen. Aang is the "villain" and they wanted to portray him as a weak skinny girl, as a counterpart to the strong masculine firelord Ozai. Toph... for Toph I have to believe they simply couldn't accept that a blind kid beat the crap out of everybody, so they turned her into a big buff guy out of shame. For Zuko, they had problems: he is a traitor but he is still the firelord's first born, so they made a parody of him but still kept him on the safe side. Basically they made a parody out of everybody, so that the public would not side with them. Propaganda at its finest.
The writers did such a good job using ”hate”comments and using them to roast themselves in this play 😂 This is how u do a recap and filler episode that everyone loves!
The part with Aang and Katara on the balcony hurts me so much. Katara is focused on the war, she's separated from her father yet again, she's just finally gotten some closure about her mom... she can't think of anything other than defeating the fire lord. Aang, however, is desperate for anything resembling preservation. His entire race is gone, his temples burned, and he's wondering what's left for him after he faces a destiny he's not so sure he'll survive. What does he have to look forward to after? Does he have a chance at a life and a family? GONNA GO SOB BYE.

There's actually a deeper reason behind Zuko's scar being on the wrong side in this episode. Zuko's scar is on his left side because traditionally, facing right means moving forward (see every 2D platformer game ever). When Zuko is framed having a choice, you see him in profile. Facing right, AKA forward, he is whole. Facing left, AKA backward, he is scarred. Because his scar comes from his past, and his life is in the future. The scar being backward is a fun joke to have at Zuko's expense, maybe, but it's also a sly indicator that from the perspective of the Fire Nation, the choices Zuko makes while looking back at the past ARE the right choices.
Huh, never thought too deeply about that. I just thought it was creators poking fun at Zuko's scar being on the wrong side for a few frames on the Episode 13 Book 3. (The scar probably wasn't at the wrong side, the look at the characters was mirrored, but people still noticed inconsistency)

One thing when it comes to Korra: Dont go into it expecting it to be ATLA. So many people wanted it to be so similar to Avatar, and when it wasn't they were massively disappointed.
Where other shows fail with recap episodes by showing flashbacks of previous scenes, ATLA really shines in making theirs a recap for both the viewers and more importantly for the characters themselves and what's to look forward in their own universe.
Yep. Korra's recap episode was a lot worse in that way, but it's understandable considering how much Nickelodeon stifled the production and everything. It was still decent! But ATLAs recap is just superior
@@myriadth9823 Yeah, Korra wasn't even supposed to have a recap, but nickelodeon cut their budget so they made an episode recap using mostly already made episode clips. Nickelodeon really screwed TLoK, multiple times.

Such good episode, this is such a good series I have enjoyed it so much and I am excited about y’all continuing to make more content! Looking forward to the finale of ATLA
Re: Sozin's Comet: I think the point is that the Fire Nation has been on the verge of winning the war for some time. They're way ahead of the rest of the nations in terms of technology. Their armies appear better trained. That's without counting the fact that Ba Sing Se has fallen and the Northern Water Tribe would've lost without the Ocean Spirit. If Aang isn't ready, there's no one powerful enough to stop Ozai, esp. with the comet's power.
About the effect of Sozin's Comet on Aang's battle with Ozai: From what is given in the show, I believe the comet doesn't merely add to one's firebending ability, but rather multiplies it. It was said in the show that the comet is like there being 100 suns. So I interpret that as meaning that any firebender is going to have their firebending strength multiplied by a factor of 100. Under regular circumstances, there is one sun, the sun, in the sky, so each firebender has whatever strength they have under one sun. Therefore, if the comet is "like having 100 suns" in the sky all at once, then the presence of Sozin's Comet is a x100 amplifier/magnifier for any firebender's firebending ability. Meanwhile, Aang just started learning firebending while Ozai has already been a master at it. And on top of that, Iroh (the legendary "Dragon of the West") being as much of a master as he is, even said he wasn't completely sure if he could even take Ozai in a fight (in the second part of the series finale when they were discussing plans for how they would divide up the team to stop Ozai and Azula). THAT is how good Ozai's firebending is. So, let's say Aang's firebending is at a 5, while Ozai is at a 50. With the comet multiplying their abilities by 100, Aang is now at 500, but Ozai is now at 5,000! Before, Ozai has a power difference of 45 above Aang, but with the comet in effect, Ozai's superior power difference now stretches to 4,500! Granted, Aang did learn from the Sun Warriors and their masters Ran and Shaw, while training with Zuko, the crown prince of the fire nation and son of Ozai. All this would give some edge back to Aang. Maybe we can consider Aang a beginner, but a really good beginner that is only a beginner in terms of time spent training, while in practical effect having the skill level of a good intermediate, or even a low-tier advanced student because of how much he has progressed within a relatively short time span. After all, Aang did learn the other elements pretty well, considering how much he progressed with them in the very, very limited time span in which he had to learn them in order to prepare to stop Ozai when Sozin's comet would come. Aang did essentially have to cram a lifetime's worth of element mastering within a single year, and yet throughout the entire series, Aang seemed to demonstrate great skill at being an exceptionally fast learner. So, maybe we can instead put Aang at 10, while Ozai is at 50. Even still, if we let Aang be at 10, while Ozai is at 50, with the effect of the comet in place multiplying their abilities by 100, Aang comes out at 1,000, while Ozai is at 5,000. In this instance, Ozai has an initial superior power difference of 40, but with the effect of the comet in place, it becomes 4,000! So, while each firebender gets the same magnification of their abilities under Sozin's Comet, they would still experience more or less magnification of their firebending depending on how much firebending strength they already initially had to begin with. - - - I think this also helps to explain why Ozai was basically giving Aang a smackdown during the first half of their battle in the finale. Among other factors, like the other elements being less useful in a battle of an Avatar against a supercharged firebender, in a setting where it comes down to who is the better firebender, Aang's primary saving grace was being the Avatar, and therefore having the power of the Avatar State at his disposal.

One thing when it comes to Korra: Dont go into it expecting it to be ATLA. So many people wanted it to be so similar to Avatar, and when it wasn't they were massively disappointed.
I just finished showing my friend Avatar for the first time so this is the only thing filling the gaping hole it has left lol
Montana’s shook counter is gonna break and erupt everywhere during the whole entire Finale hahahah
Where other shows fail with recap episodes by showing flashbacks of previous scenes, ATLA really shines in making theirs a recap for both the viewers and more importantly for the characters themselves and what's to look forward in their own universe.
They really accomplished a lot with this episode.
If there is one thing you can say about the creators of Avatar, they are really in touch with their fanbase. XD
The way Montana looks at Kenny with so much love in her eye's. Best dynamic duo I've seen in a while on youtube
Actor-Toph's scream was so intense it legitimately crashed my tablet ._.
6:45 "It's so cringy to watch." Compared to the movie this play is a masterpiece.
I believe the Cat added some important insights.
How am I supposed to watch anything when Cheyanne is leeching my soul with that adorableness 😭
You guys are so addicting I can’t stop watching I think I need help lol 😂
I love how your cat is on the cover of the video. Your cat is so cute!
this is my favorite birthday present of the day along with my new appa plushie :)) 16 today !!
Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESSE!!😘💗😘💗🎃🎀🎁🎂🎈🎆🎇🎉🎊🎊🎉🎇🎆🎈🎂🎁🎀🎃💰💸💰💸🔫💲🔫💲
Happy birthday 🎂🎉🎊
sweet sixteen 🎉🎈
Happy birthday
We all knew Montana would love Zuko eventually! 😍
17:53 that was absolutely hilarious 😂
Toph absolutely loved that look at her smile 😂😂😂
The Ember Island Players is absolute genius! It is simultaneously is a comedy break before the serious finale, a recap show, and a chilling reminder of what they have to face.
I can’t wait for her reaction to this entire segment. “Ba Sing Se, the Order of the White Lotus is here” and Iroh
I'm sorry, I just can't get over the cuteness of this adorable kitty cuddling with a cute boy.
Can I just say though I would die for Cheyenne the cat.
Can we all look at Kenny's black nail polish
I have to say it.
It’s better then the live action
There is no live action in Ba Sing Se :)
This episode made desperate zutara fans spray their televisions
The writers just put teasers to mess with them but they took it seriously and actually thought zutara was gunna happen 💀💀💀
@@dripdoriya1707 zutara was gonna happen but pressed kaatang fans send a lot of hate so they changed it
Lorena Favela no it was not who tf told u that lie. The writers of the show never made Zuko and Katara an opinion it’s been Kataang since day one. And if ur gunna lie at least make it believable. Why tf would they give Katara and Aang all that buildup just for her to end up with Zuko 🤦🏽♀️
Lorena Favela yeah that's fake news link your sources
@@lorenafavela7306 Nope. No setup whatsoever. Kataang from beginning to end.
8:59 Your cat is having a staring contest with Appa. LOL. Great reaction!
About the effect of Sozin's Comet on Aang's battle with Ozai:
From what is given in the show, I believe the comet doesn't merely add to one's firebending ability, but rather multiplies it.
- - -
I think this also helps to explain why Ozai was basically giving Aang a smackdown during the first half of their battle in the finale. Among other factors, like the other elements being less useful in a battle of an Avatar against a supercharged firebender, in a setting where it comes down to who is the better firebender, Aang's primary saving grace was being the Avatar, and therefore having the power of the Avatar State at his disposal.
me: watched reaction
cat: *exist

give me that fluffy CAT!!
i can't get FOCUSED!
You guys haven't even finished atla, but after korra you should watch the dragon prince. It's made by the same people as atla and one of the main characters share sokka's va. There are also some 10/10 atla references. :)
Something feels.... familiar... boomerang?
That cat looks like its in heaven lol
Okay, this is my first episode watching these two, and I gotta say that it's exactly what I was afraid of finding: After every scene the guy looks at the girl smiling and points the screen like "c'mon, react now" and the girl is like o-o And the she reacts cuz she has no choice lol I can't take it
Discussion at 3:11 is great. It reminds me of the discussions i have in my mind about avatar because none of my friends have seen it.
The gaang watching the play is basically me watching the live action
17:57 Look at his FACE! Pricele$$ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just like Rafiki said in lion king:IT IS TIME
I just found your guys’ channel and omfg montana is the sweetest being on the planet🥺you guys are so fun to watch i love yall♥️
Thanks so much! Welcome to the channel!
I can’t wait for the finale! I get goosebumps EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.
Also, I freaking ADORE Sokka and Suki as a couple. Seeing her make those "he's such a weirdo, but he's MY weirdo" faces is so heartwarming
Remember, toph actor is a big muscular monster guy, because probably no soldier was willing to report that they got destroy by a little blind girl haha
3 seasons in and I'm still sitting here trying to figure out which I think is more adorable- Montana reacting to the show, or Kenny reacting to Montana's reactions! (Especially this episode)
Such a cute couple 😻❤🎉
Fun fact, the guy voicing the actor playing Zuko in the play is actually Dante Basco's brother, so it's pretty much a brother mocking another brother.
loved the reactions, and loved lil cheyanne chillin' and meowing in the background :)
I love how Toph is just so happy about her portrayle
Katara actually not that much into hope.
More like: "My mother used to live, but not anymore."
stfu
@@gumballwatterson5037 what?
I doesn't mean to be offensive. It suppose to be a joke.
@@dadandadandan *groans* sorry
Interesting thing is, the writers originally did have Aang as a prankster, who didn't really fight. But they (thankfully) scrapped it. Toph was also written as a 16-year old guy too.
10:39 fun fact: This is what Toph was originally supposed to be, but the directors decided to change it
It was the right thing to do
It took me so long to realize one of Ty Lee’s sisters is playing Aang
how???
IM SO EXCITED YOU GUYS ARE DOING KORRA ITS SOOOO GOOOOODDDD
Honestly I’m kinda pumped for the 4 parts!!! It allows for more content to be covered and verdicts/predictions! Thank you for all you guys do for us! Your videos are the highlight of my week :)
Also keeps the structure of the original episodes which I like
FUN FACT: Actress Katara is voiced by Grey DeLisle, who also voices Azula, Kya (Katara’s mom), and the Banished servant in the last episode.
Another thing to mention is that aang was worried katara would never even get a chance to respond to his feelings because he thought he might die in the fight against ozai
"Avatar State Yip Yip!!"
Gets me every time!
These last months have been pretty crappy, and I find myself seeking out more bright spots of positive content on youtube all the time. You two reacting to my favorite cartoon series is one of those bright spots. Keep tearbending.
20:07 i just love how feisty cheyanne looks
You guys should do an episode after you finish where you just talk about the show like favorite episode, character or idk the plot and other things
The Zuko/Katara moment in the play was just the writers' way to roast Zutara shippers :D
Yeah lol they wanted to tease them but they took it seriously and actually thought they would end up together🤡🤡
its undeniable that there was chemistry between zuko and Katara, but it was too late. they later tried that, to work with chemistry found too late, with Korra and it felt super weird and forced. keeping Katara and Aang was definitely the safe choice.
@@danilooliveira6580 Are you talking about Korra and Asami? Because I feel like with that the circumstances were a lot different, both plot-wise and marketing-wise. Not really fair to judge them using the same standards imo
@@danilooliveira6580 I'm a huge Zutara shipper and I still feel attacked :D
