My father owned this historic picture disc that’s as exciting as Jamie Marchi’s writing. When i first heard this for the very first time, i couldn’t believe what i was about to get into. It felt like being a trance. That 1972 synthesizer bellowing Perrey’s Baroque Hoedown made me freeze. It’s just something that has to be seen in person. Simply majestic.
Discovered this tune as this was used in El Chapulín Colorado credits (1979 season), previously they used the original 1967 Baroque Hoedown by Perrey/Kingsley
Thank you! I've been waiting for a digitized version of MSEP that included "Whistle While You Work," "Mickey Mouse Club March," and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah!" This is wonderful.
This is pretty rare. Most records skip over the blank portion where the vocoded intro would be. Not this one. It’s not the Holy Grail of the original WDW intro, but it’s still another saved by the internet.
@@disneydanny2 and the wdw spoken and vocoderless announcements from 1977-1978 were never found but the vocoderless disneyland opening announcement was only found and not the vocoderless closing announcement was not found
4:30 Standing in the dark at Disneyland in the late 70's...and here comes a calliope. Inside is Prince John from 'Robin Hood', who procedes to blow a whistle and launch into an INSANE calliope riff while the thing belches steam and every so often he runs back and forth to hang off the side of the float. What, no calliopes in the movie, and Prince John has no connection to one?...meh, who cares, it's fun!
