Everything you all talked about is true. I put off hunting for 15 +- years to raise my family. Now at the age of 57 I’m getting back into it. I love all your episodes including the fails. It just makes life real for everyone. Thanks for your long hours you put in to bring these to us. I appreciate it immensely.
This is easily in my top 5 video THP has done. Getting to listen in on a conversation with some of my favorite TH-cam turkey hunters is awesome. I don't know how Simpson missed out on this one. Thanks for the discussion guys. Been chasing birds myself for almost 40 years. You topics are spot on and hunting these birds is always a learning experience every year. I know in our area the coyote population has grown and keeps hens more tight mouth. Took three coyotes last year coming into the turkey calls. Have taken two birds here in SC so far and count it a blessing. Birds here have been henned up until the last two days and getting action after 9:30 when they come off hens.
Finally someone is talking some sense! Dave is right, birds can't reason, they just get conditioned and hunters mistake that for intelligence. "Call shy" is usually just an excuse
This a very good podcast of a diverse group of turkey hunters from across the country with one goal in mind of hunting public land gobblers. Each with knowledge and expertise from their neck of the woods. A great group and look forward to more podcasts with all these guys together in the future.

For THP, even if you try it here in north Florida, the first time you have to stop your truck to let an 8' gator cross the trail, you'll know you're not in Kansas (or Iowa) anymore.

Just found this today. I can't believe the turkey hunting knowledge sitting at the table in those 4 guys. It was great listing to you guys talk turkey. Makes me want to try hunting in different states. Out west here we've not had the kind of turkey hunting opportunities you east coast guys grew up with. So this old retired guy is trying to learn some new tricks. Like Catman however, I live for fishing but turkeys might ruin my springs cause they are just so much fun to chase.

All 3 of you are producing the most realistic turkey hunting videos ever. There ain't no Hollywood productions with what you are doing. Real World Turkey Hunting!! It ain't all sunshine and rainbows out there chasing the most paranoid game animal that fears death from the claws and jaws of every predator in the woods. Some days you have 5 minute hunts and some days you have 5 hour hunts. The lure is being in the wild of God's creation and critters!

Was hesitant to watch this episode due to Im not a fan of just listening to podcasts but with this round table it made me laugh. You guys make a good point when it comes to influencing others to try something new. My grandfather taught me to turkey hunt but it was more deer hunting.. (sit and wait while calling) Until a couple years ago when a friend offered to let me tag along on the first day and his approach is like yours, i have a whole new passion for it! keep hammering guys!

Great discussion! Real world hunting and everyday guys doing it. My family has stopped watching hunting shows on TV because they aren’t that realistic or what we enjoy. We enjoy THP and a few others that show the good, bad, and ugly of hunting. I know several guys who like the continuous kill shot shows, but they really struggle with going on hunts and not killing something. It is like traditional outdoor TV has really skewed what the idea of success is. Keep it up!
Right when you think the man knows everything dave owens breaks out the line " 2020 is gonna be stellar" haha. Man I would love to have a seat at that table.
I hear you Fred I hunted like crazy last spring never worked a bird. This year hunting everyday not much luck. Hopefully this week will be better. Awesome Catman, Dave world class caller. When is the next video. THP love the videos.
I went to college for media production in the late 90's and had my own video production biz until HD hit and i all my equipment was obsolete. I forget what the ratio of time spent capturing, editing, rendering, etc was compared to # minutes of finished product buts its not good! Props to you guys, i know how tedious the post production piece can be

Dave said it best you guys have revolutionized hunting media. The failures that you show makes it all seem real and obtainable. I know you don’t want to say it but I will, hunting television is garbage. Keep on keepin on.
This has turned into a Dave Owens show. He's not a humble guy. He should be a leader and make sure everyone talks close to equal time. No Dave hunting turkeys on private land is not basically the same on public land unless there bobbling and not pressured. I've hunted public and private and I must say, hunting private is much much easier in most cases. Where I hunt in Wisconsin Kettle Moraine forest the turkeys are very pressured in my area. They don't gobble everyday and when they do they stop after 10am, they run from decoys, they don't come to calls ulness there is thick cover for them and don't come out. and you can't crawl up on these birds because they stay in the areas where they can bust you and hear you see you coming. There quite the challenge and I love that. Got one in spring 2020 with a fighting hens call 5 minutes long and another one we missed last year in spring 2021 this year with no calling at all and one jake decoy which he never saw and when he did he ran away from it but it was too late at 60 yards with Longbeard XR ammo and choke. A one shot deal breaker. Good luck everyone.

It's been my experience that a dead gobbler gains 10 pounds for every half of a mile you carry it back to the truck. These guys are hardcore.
