protip: use tails. always use karts with better handling and balanced speed on boost races. sonic will struggle to hit narrow areas before followthroughs, but tails' default configuration can do it easily. i got a silver on my first try with tails but with sonic it was always bronze.

That's interesting because I could only ever get Silver with Tails and I got the Platinum with Sonic 😂
Did you get platinum with Tails?
