Thanks for sharing travels with us. I have really enjoyed your videos. Sorry to hear of your sadness. Christmas will be strange this year but try to enjoy it. Once again. Thanks to you both. Regards John
Wow your vlogs usually keep me on my toes. I never thought about swapping one of my calor bottles for an LPG! Will look into that I think - great tip to be honest. Can’t wait until your next one. Thank you so much for sharing and take care dear people.
Thanks Isobel, you take care too x
Hello Radford family! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, it’s great fun… welcome to scandinavia
Hope you Will enjoy your trip here! Cheers from Jocke & Cathy sweden!
Thank you so much! We are loving it so far!!
I'm about to get my first motorhome, still undecided on model and type. I'm watching motorhome channels with great interest. Thanks for posting informative and interesting content. Watching experienced owners is very helpful.
Hey Phillip, how exciting.
Have a look at this video, it may help you x

Hire one first and do NOT think a four berth is big enough unless it is only you and your Mrs is a tiny tot
We have a 7 berth roller team
Maybe a wee bit big might downgrade to a 5 , but not a 4 berth
@Paul S Many thanks for the advice. I'm recently retired, it's just me and Mrs, accompanied by my daughter and her partner now and again. The only definite at the moment is fixed rear bed and garage. We used to have a caravan, so I totally agree space wise. Obviously, we've viewed a few, it's now about finding one that works for us. Again, thanks for the input.
Now this is what I was talking about, the radfords roaming , I absolutely love these type of videos, especially how your plans change, what motorhomes were built for .
Thank you x
Despite your ordeal you always both remain such a positive happy couple.Thankyou again for another great video.Jxx
😊 thank you
Your back!! 😁 Looking forward to all your new videos. ✌️
Yay! Thank you!
Lovely video as always. Cant wait to watch them all. Safe travels the Radfords 😊
Thank you!
Just to add to your gas guide, there are two different vehicle fittings, M22 and M10 where the adaptor screws into an outside vehicle outlet, or bottle, we didn’t realise and had to get the right set of adaptors couriered out to France. The kits come as a set of 4, have used 3 in Europe and 1 fits the lpg/ propane pumps in the USA where we are at the moment with our U.K. camper.
Great info! Thank you!
Great vlog guys ..been watching you for a few years now and always interesting and down to earth keep it up 💪👍
Thanks Jay x
Well that was a dramatic start to your holidays. Hope things go smoother for ye from now x
Thanks Denise!
Enjoy your trip can’t wait for other videos to come out xx
Thanks Juliet x
If you are going to Jutland I recommend going on north to Skagen the northern most tip. There you can ride a sand wagon from car park to ocean. There are old bunkers to explore if you are into history. If you go to Copenhagen I would recommend parking at a S train station in a suburb and take that to central station to avoid traffic and parking in city. The buses are good to get you around. We once drove to Sweden and took the high speed ferry to Bornholm island. You also may want to the smoked herring. If you get to Køge we have enjoyed Restaurant Arken at the harbor.Mons Klint are some cliffs to visit but wear good shoes for climbing stairs
My wife is from Olgod in Jutland.
So many great tips! Thank you x☺️
You can refill your safefill at Henlow Lakes campsite on the A507, a bit far from MK I guess but if you're heaning fo the A1 could be useful.
I’m glad you made it safely after all the challenges!
We ended up with a big puddle of water in our bottom hab door step too after driving for hours in the wind and rain.
Happy travels all 😊x
Good vid Radfords. There muts be a known issue with those Fridges as I know a few people have had to have fridge replaced or parts replaced to get it working again.
We’re still “trouble shooting”
Hi guys lovely to see you all hope you have a great trip we meet you at Dunkirk you was just on your way back home
We remember!!! Thanks for commenting xx
If in Skagen Den Tilsandede Kirke is nearby aka the church in the sand
The west coast also has lighthouses that you can visit and climb the stairs
Aarhus is another city to visit if time
Have a nice and safe road trip and enjoy.
Thanks David!
That hatt is a hoot!!! Your adventures are so insane but so fun🎉 You have to have a jolly personality like you both have to be about like this. Wow that que at night and the procedure even ten minutes is huge I noticed. The only great thing is you have the size with a kitchen and can move about and have a decent meal and rest. Some van lifers are restricted in their movement and what they may carry. The challenge would be with teenagers! They are definitely creatures that change their minds and dispositions at a whim. Safe travels and rest.
Thank you x
Great video. I love watching your adventures .
Thank you
great trip. looking forward to the next video. I was born in wiesbaden, Germany...Hamburg downtown is pretty wild. Thanks Don
Thanks Don!
Well done for driving Lyndsey. Teamwork! 👍
Thank you x
Oh the perils of motorhoming. Long days and lots of challenges but imagine what it would be like in a car 😮 At least you have all your home comforts with you and you are cosy and dry. Love Hamburg and the surrounding area. Legoland should be interesting 👍🏻😃 Trev
Thanks Trev! Moho travel is the best!!
@@RoamingRadfords Gotta agree with that ! Enjoy your tour and have a fab Easter 🐣
Adapters are easily available. Weve got 2 x 11kg refillable auto gas 2000 bottles.
Enjoy your trip and keep sending the vlogs xx
Will do Christine!
Always enjoy your trips.
Us too! Thank you x
I'm guessing you don't use to much gas hence the one refillable, But it would be interesting what sort of response you get throughout Europe, because I know in France some petrol stations would be unhappy about filling a bottle, I know it is ok, but filling bottles has got a bit of a bad name here and many stations have signs saying no bottle filling on the pumps. (I know it's for the non refillable ones but the attendants would not know the difference and would just prefer to stop you). I Have the Gaslow and the filling point is on the outside of the van (so don't have to open the door), yet I have been stopped in Italy, Total stations have banned all motorhomes from filling btw. Great to see you guys back on the road, safe travels.
It’s great to be back on the road again!!
Another great trip started, and after all this time, I realised I walk past your house most days when walking the dogs! 😂
😁
Brilliant as always
Thank you Gaynor x
Fridge problem. Having we been here before?
Footwell water. Poss the door seals. We had it happen with our side locker. So now every so often we just go round the seal with a damp rag to take any dust/dirt thats dried on. Since covid a lot of businesses in europe use cash only deals. Understandable really. Enjoy your trip.
Fridge problems… 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤣🤣
Excellent episode as usual guy's well done 👏 ✔️
Rob and Lynn had same trouble with fridge after having hab check.
We are still trouble shooting!
Is it a Dometic fridge? Have you tried resetting it, and then fire it up on gas first?
Great video 👍
Great video as always 👍👍
Thank you lovely Ashley x
Reminds me of my last 2 drives from callas to paris it rained all the way I have not driven in weather like it
So much rain!!
You don’t need the anglers mort sign if you stick to the motorways in France , it’s only for driving in the villages and cities……..
I come home and you go out !!! Enjoy your trip!!
I know! We missed you 🤦🏼♀️
great video and very useful information
Thank you!
Great camper 😮
Thank you x
Bit of a crazy start to the trip, gonna log the first aire for our trip later in the year.
Keep an eye on our website, we’re adding all our stops to the map!
Curious as the Harwich route is very easy and the crossing is like a mini cruise. Defo a better option in peak season for Holland.
It was fully booked when we decided to travel this way.
I've been put on earlier and later trains at no extra cost. But if they may charge more due to you being a high vehicle.
Seeing you stick your morte on the rear, have you considered a perspex plate with suckers? We did ours, and it stayed on ok for a good month while away. On one off and store like the magnets.
Thanks Andy, as we own a sign company we have printed a load of them off so we just peel the sticker off and stick another one on as needed!
great video such a big van keep the videos coming
Thanks, will do!
Another ace video guys ❤
Thank you x
Hi guys, love the video, god you two don't mess about once you're off your off , you must have lots of stamina, we would be worn out 😂, Steve did you manage to sort the step well out , where was the water coming from ? We are still waiting for our swift voyager should have been March now April 😢. 7months . Anyway look forward to seeing the next episode.👍
Thanks Linda x
Hooorah you’re back in your own van and doing a good travel vlog. We enjoy your vlogs when doing stuff like this.
Great tip abouy having one refillable and one calor. We were thinking of having one gaslow and one calor but what you’ve done may be a much cheaper solution. Do you ever find you are unable to fill that bottle with not having an external fill point?
Also well done on driving Linds. It’s a HUGE van I could never honestly and ours is a 7.6. I think you did great I couldn’t do it.
Thank you!
You seem to be fated with fridges! Enjoy your trip
My words exactly (almost, I may have added a swear word or two) 🤷🏼♀️🤣
Really great video look forward to the nxt one
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you x
wow thats a sweet home from home...made near me i think cottingham east yorkshire
Thank you!
Nice one guys
Ta Dave x
Well done Lynds on the driving 🤩 I’m ok on the motorways but don’t like it when the roads are narrow ! Far too stressful 😂 Germany is another place we want to visit Hamburg looked lovely but I think we would have paid that busker to come back at about 8 am 😂 specially after all that driving you must have been knackered 😭 xx
🤣🤣 it took us ages to open the blinds and figure out what was going on!
@@RoamingRadfords 🤣🤣🤣
The news is I've had five kittens 3 boys 2girls just from watching you effortlessly drive on the wrong side of the road in the dark in rain . i dont do two of them in this country .
No way could i ever drive over there .enjoy your trip gang !
🤣🤣🤣
Lucky you! My wife won't drive our coach.
Steve wouldn’t let me for many years! He’s not a great passenger, but sharing is caring!🤣
Great video lyndsay and Steve it was nice you could take it in turns driving looking forward to seeing legoland been to the one in Windsor many years ago and was not good but it might of changed now
Thanks Sally! Lego land Denmark was fabulous!
Thats good then glad you enjoyed it by the sounds of it
well done Lindsay
Thank you x
You are lucky we don’t have dat shops in Shetland
Haha can’t believe you took kids to the Reeperbahn.
Should have visited the Model Railway! It’s the largest in the world!
🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
hi all, Certainly a few things for Swift to sort out. Not good for a year old motorhome, what happened to good quality. Hopefuuly plain sailing onwards/
/
.
We are sure that there’s nothing that can’t be fixed!
@@RoamingRadfords Totally agree it can be fixed, but should not be needed, it's not exactly a budget motorhome. Sorry Oslo was a no no. Travel safely.
Nice video guys , I presume the water came in through the door sills due to the vast amount of rain ?
We think so, but wanting to make sure still.
Lovely to see Lindsay driving. I’m desperate to drive to Spain in my Moho but I haven’t driven abroad since 1997!
Just give it a go, start in France and see where you end up!!
With high fuel prices check the plymouth northern spain ferrys its less stress on your camper plus very much less stress on drivers its price for price similar costs depending on size of your camper, maybe worth thinking about.
U sounds like a HGV1 European driver it was just like that get in late stop early start
Stop when we can! Relax and then push on!
Have to ask but why not to cross the on North Sea ferry to Holland? Interesting video. Subbed and liked.
The Euro Tunnel is faster and cheaper
Hi there brilliant video please could you tell me where you got your refillable LPG gas bottle as would love to do this for my Motorhome which has ALDE heating?
Hi Andy, we bought ours on EBay!
@@RoamingRadfords I have just discovered that they are planning to phase out all LPG pumps at all the major gas stations in favour of EV points by 2024 😳this will make a huge impact & I am now not sure what to do?
At the minute we find it hard to find refillable gas in the UK. However, it’s the easiest way to get gas on the continent. This is why we have both a Calor bottle and a refillable - best of both worlds.
Can I just ask what size your disk lock is please, I’m wanting one for when I get my van, many thanks in advance
Sure we have the medium one amzn.to/3AN2slm
@@RoamingRadfords thank you 😊
Omg biggest carpark in the world i reckon the M25..... don't miss it at all lol...wow the weather isn;t looking good. omg looks bloody cold where you are.. I love local markets ... enjoy
Thanks 👍
Have you done a tour of Norway?
We did go through Norway a little and shot some video but not a great deal as Oslo was pretty much closed when we were there
Can I ask if you needed to have extra class or driving lessons or tests to drive that size? Would a normal UK driving licence for a car be enough?
If you passed your test before 1997 in the UK then you will have a C1 entitlement on your licence that allows you to drive up to 7.5 tonnes. If you’ve passed your test since 1997 you don’t automatically have the C1 category and can only drive up to 3.5 tonnes without taking an additional driving test.
Can I please ask what source you use to find your stops etc
Thank you
We use a couple of sites/apps.
Searchforsites.co.Uk and Park4Night
Xx
Is that footwell where the nickname leaky kontiki comes from😳
Yikes! I hope not!!
Or KonLeaky maybe.
Isnt it illegal to cook while your driving or am i mistaken?
Dawn we know of no law that prohibits cooking whilst driving!
@@RoamingRadfords i just think its common sense really not to cook when your on the move just in case anything happens
Im sure your good drivers but i personally would think twice about cooking while i was on the move especially with you all in there.
Stay safe guys!
What did you record you vid on ?
Rich there’s a link to our gear in the video description
Love watching your trips xx
Yay! Thank you x
Kebab Shop ...?
Silly me, I thought you would have got German nosh in Hamburg ...
Yep, silly you 🤣🥰
Love the radfords family travels videos. Get to learn little things like those diesel pumps not being out of order. I'm going through Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France,Switzerland, Italy,Slovenia and Croatia soon and that sign on the pump handle would of made me stop and think for a bit. Do you not have a revolute card or anything like that for currency abroad. A free basic revolute account let's you draw up to £200 a month out of atms for free and convert up to £1000 worth of currency each month as well.
Thanks Byron, we have Revolut and Monzo cards
After you ran out of data did you buy more from smarty or did you buy a local SIM ?
We paid for more with Smarty
Go Lyndz! Great driving. Glad you made it safely and Hamburg looks a great city to explore. Thanks for sharing and safe travels 🚍☀️
Thank you x
How's the border crossing after Brexit?
The border crossing is the same, it takes a little longer and your not meant to take meat and dairy, but the main pain is you’re only allowed 90 days in every 180 days
Cooking whilst driving , is that legal ????
Have you at least some securing straps on your gas bottle?
Yes there are straps but there is also no room for them to move in there, they fit perfectly jammed against each other for no movement whatsoever making the straps pretty useless
Have to agree reeperbahn not best place for kids, have family in Hamburg❤
Thank you x
Looks like hamburg also has a graffiti problem.
would have gone hours earlier ..
So would we if it were just Steve and I to consider. We left as soon as school would allow!
Fridge working OK when the krankies had it
I don’t understand? What do you mean? Lx
@@RoamingRadfords nicola sturgeon and the SNP campervan ,safe travels
Ah. Right then.
Iv done Germany 🇩🇪 in motorhome to Poland some long roads 350 miles between turn offs stop at Wolfgang services lovely Germany beef breakfast afew young nazis who said hello because I'm a middle age brit with no hair
Yikes!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Just one ? Are you going into Europe with your fridge full of dairy products
Surely if you're in a motorhome you can just park anywhere for free. Why do you need to pay all those euros ?
If you find safe, free parking for a 9m Motorhome, that doesn’t annoy the locals, please drop us a pin! We’d love to stay for free in this city where most people live in apartments.
@@RoamingRadfords I guess that's a problem for such a large vehicle. I would have suggested parking firther out and getting the bus in. But I suppose that would cost more with a family. And industrial estate where there is plenty of room would be not good for security as I presume it's a target for opportunity theft.
By the time you've factored in all the fuel , the tolls , the euro tunnel, gas, stress and time, I think it's probably a lot more convenient just to grab a cheap flight and an airbnb.
Yes, probably. But we like to tour more than one city in our lovely home on wheels. We find having all our “stuff” means we can explore and enjoy with much more convenience and more importantly more fun.
Can’t stand the angle mortz stickers , they look ridiculous and make no difference whatsoever
No motorhome adventures without any hiccups. ❤ don’t look forward for the diesel game in Sweden. Geez. And it’s diluted dos the milage avg is worse than with eu petrol 😡
Yikes! We will keep and eye on that then!
Incredibly you paid for diesel on a motorway, paid a fee at the cash machine and travel with only 12gb data. You then paid for parking!
Yes we did. Incredible!
Was you holding a mobile phone while stuck in that traffic! It’s illegal can’t even
Touch phone to change tracks!! Your not exempt from the law! Ps police do watch TH-cam!!
Can't believe that water in the foootwell, Swift need to sort that out very poor.
We will of course be trying to figure out where it’s coming in and feed back to Swift for future production x
