I agree that Denmark is great. Albany probably has more attractions for tourism though. It's the last point of Australia that many soldiers in World War I saw before leaving to fight overseas. There is a truly great museum there about it [National Anzac Centre]. There is also the Whaling Station [now closed]. I went there as a kid while it was still active. The sights are way less gruesome now and a better place to visit because it is closed, but it is a significant part of the history of Albany. Albany has one of the largest natural harbours in the world, which is why is was used as a staging point for ships going off to World War 1. The surrounding hills have many places to visit. Suggest you also go to Dog Rock, right in the heart of Albany itself. You'll recognise it when you see it!. There's also another point around the bay where hang gliders launch. Great to watch!

I'm surprised there wasn't more turbulence where the two oceans meet; in New Zealand, at Cape Reinga (a culturally sacred site), you can see where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean, and there's a white water 'line' of wash and whirlpools in the sea.

Can't wait to see what you guys reckon if Albany (say the A as in Apple). The coastline there is amazing... So many little bays and beaches to explore. Go visit the barber shop on York St (my friend Jason runs it) and take in a yoga class at Albany Yoga Room (his wife Joy runs it). Albany is one of my favourite places in WA... If I couldn't live in Freo, I would have to live there.

There is nowhere in Western Australia where you can see the Pacific Ocean, especially down in the SW corner of WA.

Not sure what the international licence arrangements are but in many parts of Oz you need a class 2 licence to drive manual whereas a class 1 licence is for automatics so maybe double check that and whether your car hire insurance covers you.

Your incredibly accurate identification of the bird that belongs to the genus of owl/duck was spot on, mates!(No one 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 says "mates", just thought I'd give you a heads-up 😁)
No, sorry....that bird was a kookaburra. A species of large kingfisher, that actually mainly eats reptiles such as snakes and lizards, and the 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 big ones catch and eat the saltwater crocodile... no, sorry, ignore that last part, I can't help it, I mean, you're American's, so it's almost an Australian sport to take the piss out of Septics(Aussie slang for "Yanks"...yanks, rhymes with "tank", hence "septic"). Sorry, sorry, I'm a bad person.😁🇭🇲👍

You definitely should’ve gone up north to coral bay or Exmouth, the best beaches in the whole of Australia and the weather is muchhh nicer then down south
