9:42 Sorry to spoil the fun but it's Vestal Virgins - like the Roman Goddess Vesta, virgin goddess of the hearth an home, (her Greek counterpart was called Hestia). She was the first born out of the first 6 gods (the next 5 being Ceres/Demeter, Juno/Hera, Pluto/Hades, Neptune/Poseidon, and Jupiter/Zeus) and therefore was the first of the 5 swallowed by their father (Jupiter/Zeus was hidden by their mother before his father could eat him) but was also therefore the last one to be vomited back up so she's both the eldest and the youngest out of them. She got a lot more attention in Rome than she did in Greece because the Romulus and Remus's (Rome's founders who ended up trying to kill each other) mother was a Vestal Virgin before Mars (God of War, Roman counterpart to Ares) noticed her and in all likelihood attacked her - she was either then killed or was separated from her sons, in anycase they ended up being found and raised in part by a she-wolf.
So yeah, unless you're an actual god (and according to all the stories the gods get really really mad when we mortals start going around claiming we're gods) you'd better not ignore the no entry sign.

Brooks also seems to fit the line "A shitload of money" or something very similar in all his movies. Blazing Saddles changed it to "a shitload of dimes" for the toll booth scene. I've always been fond of this one.

Not because I'm a Royalist (I'm not), but his nasty dismissal of an admirers love for his comedic style seemed a very cheap and spiteful shot and hardly the kind of trick a so called comedic giant would need to stoop too, to get a laugh.

So I've now seen several of your reaction videos and thoroughly enjoyed each one of them. I'd marry Emily solely for watching comedy movies with her. I can just imagine how much I'd laugh just because she's so tickled at lots of funny/stupid/ridiculous moments. Well and she's beautiful too. Anyway keep up the awesome videos. Can't wait for the next one. 😁

20:52 the Legend, the Godfather of British comedy Spike Milligan! It was impossible to get him to stick to the script.
I grew up reading his books, watching his tv series and listening to his radio shows. Most British comedians from the 60s 70s 80s and 90s credit him as their inspiration.
I feel Emily, you would get a kick out of his work.

Here's a little factoid for you: Use of the guillotine continued in France in the 19th and 20th centuries, and the last execution by guillotine occurred in 1977. In September 1981, France outlawed capital punishment altogether, thus abandoning the guillotine forever.
I was on this Earth-11 years old to be exact when the guillotine was last used
    That's a bit weird!

I worked for Blockbuster video for about a decade. One of my favorite "dumb customers" was the one who tried his hardest to convince me that there was a "Part II", and we should be ashamed for not carrying it in our store. I told him that if he could bring me a copy, I would give him 14 hundred billion dollars.
Never saw that customer again. What a shame.

I enjoy your videos! And I love your shirt! I have two suggestions for films for you. They're both comedies, but very different. The first is The Producers. It's his first, and he hadn't started doing films that were parodes of other genres. The Producers stand on its own a contemporary comedy of the time. I think it may be his best film. And Gene Wilder is amaging. The other film is Election, by Alexander Payne. It's Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon in the lead roles. It's a really timely comedy, and its pretty dark! I'd love for you to watch and record your reactions to them.

Gregory Hines replaced Richard Pryor who had just set himself on fire. Sid Ceasar who was the main caveman worked with Mel Brooks on the 1950 sketch comedy show, Your Show of Shows. (There is a great compilation called Ten from Your Show of Shows that I highly recommend.) If you are familiar with Alfred Hitchcock films, watch Mel's spoof High Anxiety for much of the same cast.
I just picked up a few classic comedies missing off your list. Meatballs, Soap Dish, Foul Play, and if not on the list Murder by Death.

Please add The Muppet Movie from 1979 to your list! The humor in it is so much like a Mel Brooks film, only "G" rated. I know that may sound like a contradiction in terms, but Jim Henson made it work!!! It's such a wonderful movie for all ages!!! I know you will appreciate it if you appreciate Mel Brooks movies!!!
Anyone else reading this...I beg you please don't spoil anything about the movie!
Dom Deluise did a bunch of comedies with Burt Reynolds back in the day. He was in the sequel to Smokey and the Bandit with Burt, unfortunately that movie wasn't too good compared to the first which is excellent!
They did a movie together called "The End" which I know I've seen but can't remember a single thing about.
And Dom and Burt did the first two Cannonball Run movies together. These movies are as far from fine cinema as you can get but they are so freaking fun!!! The best thing about them are the MASSIVE cast along with cameos. Both movies are full of "OMG... *they're* in this?!!" moments.
I think if you added the first Smokey and the Bandit movie and Cannonball Runs I and II, you'd enjoy them a lot, but the only movie I am so hopeful and excited at the idea of you watching is The Muppet Movie.
Oh, Dom Deluise was also in a charming comedy-drama called Fatso. It was written and directed by Anne Bancroft and she also stars in it. Anne Bancroft in addition to being a wonderful actress and writer was the wife of Mel Brooks.
20:14 Well I know this dentist he could go to...
If Mel Brooks won't make a History of the World, Part 2, I'll just go and make my own dot dot dot with blackjack dot dot dot and hookers!!! Who needs the movie part anyway?
    Best Regards!!!
