- Kyrie Irving : Throughout the years.
Witness his rise to basketball stardom. Beginning from his high school years when Kyrie attended a small private school, Montclair Kimberley Academy, and then transferring to perennial national-powerhouse St Patrick's High School. This is how it all began for Kyrie Irving, who is regarded as the best player to ever come out of New Jersey.
Highlights include never before seen footage of Kyrie Irving during his high school seasons with MKA and St. Patrick's, as well as the New Jersey RoadRunners AAU Program. Additional highlights are shown after high school, including Duke University, Cleveland Cavaliers and Team USA, all in chronological order.

One of the first things I noticed about Kyrie is that he used both hands equally well--dribbling, layups. This is always my first clue that a player has been well coached in the fundamentals. Father laid blueprint and Kyrie put in the work to build his game.
He secret is he told us he uses a plastic bag over the ball to keep his coordination and handles up to par
@M stop talking
He plays a lot like his god father who was my favorite player growing up. Except Kyrie has a far better jumpshot. Kyrie and Kemba are my favorite PGs in the league because they have that tri-state area handle. People don't realize there's a difference between having a nasty handle and just having a nasty crossover or moves.
Explain to me what a tri-state area handle is.
ILL MATIC You'd have to just see it. But basically tri-state guards have the ball on a string. They can handle the ball in traffic. Their handle is low to the ground, closer to the body and their crossover isn't wide and exaggerated.
Hollis2Hollywood Aight cool,thank you!
His godfather is Rod Strickland
bullshit!
This video shows the importance of sound parenting relationships in personal development. with the negative views of black American fatherhood(some justified, some unjustified) this video should serve as an inspiration to young ball players and to viewing parents of taking the proper time and methods to cultivate your child's potential.
chitownmo that’s absolutely right
chitownmo unfortunately i never had that
@@zay9678 that’s ok don’t let that define you
You can really see the glory of god shine through that boy. I enjoyed this so much. Dreams really do come true.
Don't discount his accomplishments by adding God to the conversation. He does not once in the film thank God for his accomplishments.
+Truth just because he didnt address God doesnt mean God didnt or couldnt have helped him
he is a devout chirstian
Scott Bennici you sure about that now

After watching this I play 3 hours a day #SeeYouInTheNBA
Non Ya Kyrie play from 8-3 and then 4 until around 6 or 7 thats like 9 to 10 hours a day.
Jack is a dumbass. 8-3 was school
^^ Well logically its impossible for a student to play 9-10 hours a day. When i was in hs i used to go D1 to recruiting camps just for the comp and I remember one of the coaches telling us that you dont need to work for 4-6 and that most of the guys who said they were doing that likely weren't working hard enough. Kind of a quality over quantity mentality. Although kyrie obviously proved to be an exception to this. Also if everyone who worked for 4 hours a day was in the league... well lets just say it would be a big league. There is no set in stone path to the nba working hard and being good is just a prerequisite to give yourself and chance and thats assuming that you already have the natural advantages like height and athleticism.
+John Smith what if he did quality and quantity? After all he did get himself to be an allstar in the nba and you domt get there by having the same regimen as everyone else
Non Ya 3 hours is not enough I play for 9 hours on weekends and 4 hours on weekdays because of homework
17:35 even the referee fell from that twist. . lmaaoo

Kyrie looked GROWN from Early.
Shut up and come back from 3 years ago
Come back from 1 year ago

Are you in the NBA or did you quit... Like a kid
I went to Roosevelt middle school, the same middle school Kyrie went to. He was gonna go to WO high, but went to MKA instead and finally transferred to St. Pats High. I remember him coming to my 8th grade science class when he was in college, but was on leave cause he had a broken toe. Amazing to see how far he has come.
How tall was he in 8th grade?
diondre williams he was in college when he came

You were right bro...
it was a great series tho
+Diego Espinal What did you say?
+HEA???????????? 😂😂😂
Oh, Kyrie is the real diamond for the NBA.
Video was so dope! Thank you for making this.
17:37 was such a nasty crossover that he broke the ref's ankles. LOL
This is an awesome video. Kyrie is my favorite player!!! Big fan
Kyrie deserve to be where he's at today because he worked his butt off every single day and he kept a good attitude☺🏀💦
I saw Kyrie play in a high school tournament where one night he went up against a team with 3 division 1 prospects. That team went up by a few points and was playing well. At that point though, Kyrie absolutely took the game over and he through and around them and was hitting layups and outside shots and there wasn't a damn thing they could do about it and they had a good team too. It's just that Kyrie was on a different level and they couldn't guard Kyrie.
great video man. i really appreciate stuff like this
Thanks.
@@WOhoopz28 yo bro come back we are waiting for you
damn kyrie singing we're all in this together made me and my friends go ROFL big time!!! LOL!!! HAHAHA!!!!!! :D :D :D
Awesome video, already looking forward for the next one. You guys are doing an amazing job. Go Uncle Drew 😊
Even the ref stumble when he spins! 17:37 lol
Kyrie is just that good
I've always thought that Kyrie was a unique combination of talent plus hard work, a super high b-ball I.Q. and an iron will. It seems like he had the incredible, and uncommon, benefit a great parents. That is so huge! His Dad is to thank for a lot of his success. I appreciate players, like Irving, who never get too high or too low on the court because it shows that they are objective and don't get totally thrown off by emotions. (see Chris Paul!) Irving, absent injury, is a foregone conclusion for a decade, plus, NBA star.
Great parents. Not "a great parents."
he was beast in HS
Relax bruh. This nigga was beasting against of white boys. There are a million kyries, high school level, in the inner city.
+I AM DA TONE I doubt it considering he's a first pick in the nba off a few games in college
I AM DA TONE if there's millions of kyries then how come only he made it to the NBA???
+I AM DA TONE da nikka playd from lik 4 to 10 everyday aint no inner city kid pittin in wrk like dat
@@randii4rm32nd4 yeah there is i have played ball in my driveway untill likw 11:00 or like 8 or 9 at night dude
In 8th grade he looked like the NBA rookie version of chris webber.
I've never seen a right-handed basketball player use his left so effortless and efficient. I've never seen a player quite like him!!!
I’m left handed and use both hands perfectly and equally in 9th grade

Was waiting for this vid for a while now! Big fan of his so i already know it's gonna be good meaning i'm gonna like the vid before i even watch it :)
What a journey. Seeing this made me so proud like I lived it with him or something.
Nothing but success to you and family Kyrie keep doing you my man.
Probably the best video on TH-cam
Im from the future and the golden state blew a 3-1 lead. kyrie has a ring now
17:56 Come on, Uncle Drew! Maaan! Of the court, he really was an ordinary kid. I see lol
I'm a huge warriors fan but this my nigga....I mean I don't hate the cavs...but this is my favorite player on the cavs
Way to ruin the video buy overlaying the worst music you could possibly find. The music at 20:40?? What the fuck are you thinking bro? Is your brain pull of mush?
awesome video looking forward to what kyrie does this season
The sound track is bumping
At 9:31 a guy almost punched kyrie
He lived in Melbourne Australia when he was a kid. Is this true? Just heard this story on the court at training today. One of my favourite players; We love you Kyrie=Massive Respect
I didn't know that he was raised by only his Dad. That's cool that they share such a special bond.
i also didn't know he had a sister lol
this documentary is missing some very famous accomplishments: ROY, 3-point champ at the 2013 all-star, MVP of the rising star game, and that infamous battle w/ Brandon Knight during that rising star game which I believe an ankle was broken in the end... Oh and there should of been some Uncle Drew clips in there.
This documentary was made before that they just published it at a different time
What is those songs called they go ultra hard
Can you get a video of the steps his father told him
music selection is awful. Kyrie is a fuckn Sav tho
Awesome video, already looking forward for the next one. You guys are doing an amazing job. Go Uncle Drew 😊

He had some real good coaches along the way - UNCLE DREW ....
Kyrie is good. I consider like the best PG but... He still has stuff 2 work on. You can never be 2 good. I wanna be an NBA player. I
Kyrie is second best player in Cavs history next to you know who

Seth Talkin about he had too guard Kyrie everyday in practice I wonder how many times he touched the floor guard him LMAO

Bria Hartley. Former Uconn Guard and now in the WNBA
My height breakdown:
7th- 5'10"

10th- 6'3"
11th- 6'3"
12th- 6'3"

Men usually have two growth spurts. You've had your first already, keep stretching and focus on plyometrics in order to maintain maximum agility and vertical leap while you grow. I wish I knew what to expect before hand. All I remember is never being able to sit in a car or chair with my knees bent because I would have incredible pain in my knees. Now I know what it was, but back then I used to lie down alot, especially in the back seat. You'll know if this happens to you because if you play ball, your knees will not hurt, but when your not and sit, it will be extremely painful.
7th - 5'6"
8th- 5'7"
9th- 5'7"
10th- 5'7"
11th- 5'7"
12th- still fucking 5'7"
Rest of my life- 5' fucking 7"
St0pTheInsan1ty1 damn that sucks been 6'5 since I was 14
4th 4'10
5th 5'1
6th 5'3
7th 5'8
Congrats Mr. 2016 NBA Champ !!!!!
Thanks for the dedication put into this video! I'd appreciate if everyone could check out some of the videos on my channel!
Whats the instrumental song
Did u just gather all this footage and put it together or is this a real documentary
This channel gathered all the footage, and made it into an official documentary.
Can you give all the songnames
how many kg was Kyrie when he was eighth grade?
Great documentary
it pays to have a father in your life
Facts dope to see
My Best Homie is from Newark highly intellectual and likable guy… Them Jersey dudes just hit different remember how real the OutLawz were and everyone forgot kyrie is from a similar environment over in West Orange Jersey.. Those jerseys dudes are very out-spoken and god-body personality that exactly what we’re witnessing Ervin it’s the {King-Ky} in him the elites tryna control
yo kyrie so raw he made the ref fall
fucking audio in this video
What happened to that defense?
I don't think many players go from being called 'excellent' defensively to being bad in that area from high school to NBA; excellent to average, sure, but it's a shame to see him become so poor defensively at the highest level where he is supposed to become better in all facets of the game.
From then to the best point guard in the leauge
Kyrie is freakin awesome. I want to be just like him or better when I start playing in college and on to the NBA. This is my dream am going to make reality soon. He's my favorite basketball player. And also Lebron James with his skills as a small forward.
Are you in college or did you give up
When kyrie's dad said it took kyrie longer to embrace the talent and skills that he was blessed with did that mean he wasn't that good until freshman year +WestOrangeHoops
I was 5'2 in 9th grade now im 5'11 as a junior
+Ian Benjamin I was 5-2 I think in 6th grade.
+Chicago Bulls Fan how tall are you now
Ian Benjamin I haven't checked my height lately so probably close 6-0
Im 5'3 in a half in 9th grade
Mates 6’4 9th grade
Anybody else see he was so nice he broke the ref ankle🤣😂17:35
Now u need to add that championship and "the shot". Hope this years finals gave him some confidence for next year and i hope he goes off.
Kyrie is love one day he will teach me basketball one day
My favorite video ever. He played basketball so much and was so good. Many players red to play that many hours as he did.
I love that play beginning at 28:43... the block followed by the layup with contact 👌
WAT HAPPENED TO THAT DEFESNE MINDSET IN THE NBA lol
He is playing against the best guards in the country not that easy to get steals at that level
ITS NOT ABOUT STEALS, JUST WATCH HIM PLAY, THERE'S NO EFFORT, IF HE PUT HALF OF THE EFFORT ON HIS DEFENSE LIKE HE DOES ON OFFENSE HE WOULD BE A BEAST BUT TILL THEN HE'S GONNA STAY A ONE SIDED PLAYER
Dwight Simpson he dont play D
T0PSECRET he's been in the league for years now, he played in a great college , at a certain point its more about changing his attitude towards defense, until then he's gonna be like Melo, Harden, 2nd level star, offense for days but no defense
not that many, klay for me is the best sg in the league, scores and plays D, Paul George, hard nowadays not many players play both sides anymore
go to around 17:30 and look in the background when the ref falls lmao
17:35 he crossed the ref
That girl in the beginning of the video who was sitting with kyrie Irving went to my high school lol
He challenged Kobe his first year wtf😂
what's that instrumental at the very beginning of the video where he crossed brandon
JR Smith the only player from Jersey to come straight into the league out of high school.
al Harrington ?
I wonder how those kids feel now knowing that that played against an nba superstar
David Stern 🕊️: stay healthy🥺
MVP
17:37 ref fell down
I love to see the father and son connection. He such a well spoken young man and that because of his father
