I think she would make amazing queen. The only deserved throne holder after the death of her majesty Queen Elizabeth. RIP to the queen. Her daughter is the deserved candidate.
Met her years and years ago when I was volunteering for the RDA at the time was unable to bow as I was leading a horse and stood with his head leaning on my shoulder she saw the funny side of my predicament and told me not to move as it seemed the horse had gone to sleep and it might startle him if I did so. I did, however, bow my head and her comment back was in humour "Better than nothing but between you and me I've seen worse!" And then moved on that did make me laugh later on never forgot it either. She certainly is a character and yes a legend too.
My favorite scene was when she relayed to her mum how she told reporters to “Naff off!” Or more precisely “NYYYAAAFFFF OFF!” in that deliciously posh way of adding a “y” in front of vowels.
It's strange how there is a clear difference to how Princess Margaret and Princess Anne are. Both are second born both people would have preferred to have been next in line yet the nuisances to their duty and responsibilities are night and day
Why would anyone have preferred Margaret to be next in line, instead of Elizabeth? Elizabeth is far better suited to the throne. Or did you mean Margaret as opposed to Charles? (If Elizabeth had had no children.)
Sorry, but I would have never preferred a party girl like Margaret to be in line for the throne, monarchy wouldnt have survived for one day if Margaret was queen as she had no sense of duty
Okay but her kissing Charles on the cheek, pausing, and then socking him in the gut is just peak sibling energy. Just...so good. I loved her character so much.
I know this never happened (no one knows about their relationships and conversations), but this series solidified her as my favorite royal. She would have made a great queen
I wish they focused more on Anne than the love triangle. I really appreciate the show for diving into Diana's psyche, especially as it pertains to her eating disorder, but the triangle itself is a tired story. Only Anne she'd new light on it by pointing out that even Diana (understandably) broke her wedding vows. I get that Charles is the next crown, but I find these other family members far more interesting (like older Philip and young Margaret) and would like to see more of how being a royal impacted their lives too. Anne was almost kidnapped and gets to be a royal child who was allowed to divorce. How does all that get skipped over? Her first marriage would've been a great contrast to Charles' situation, and the kidnapping grounds the show and its viewers in what's really important when it comes to keeping the family safe in order to help help the monarchy going. She's also a better example of who should've been the crown. Contrasting her attitude to Charles and the sacrifices that are necessary to maintain order would've been nice to see more of. I sympathize with Charles and his situation in general and on the show, and I think the actor does a really great job of portraying Charles the person, not just Charles the cheater, but at the end of the day we see that Charles is not emotionally well suited for the role so far. To see what goes into creating someone more like Anne seems necessary.
Same. I like crown bcs of the stories involving lesser known royals on the first place. It got tiredsome when they reached love triangle arc. There were plenty of films covering that, it's repetitive
Of the best characters in the series, in the top 3. I would have liked to see her a lot more. In real life I am very funny how the whole world observes, criticizes and laughs at this family who believe themselves to be gods on Earth.
In a galaxy of great actors and despite being in a relatively minor role, the actress who played Anne always burned a hole in whatever scene she was in.
Love it. I'm keeping this one in my favs. 💯 The more disdained they are, the more I enjoy it 😉 . She's clever and very straightforward, unarguabliy the favorite of Prince Philip and I believe she was depicted softer than how she is in real life.
The selection of scenes was superb, but the best thing, the very best thing about this video were the added thought bubbles. Bravo! They should make another version of The Crown with these added throughout. BTW, I play a drinking game while watching the series. Every “wut?!” requires a shot. And no matter what else happens, one must keep up with Margaret’s drinking.
Very happy people are finally realizing the legend Anne is. She’s amazing and, I think, her not having to eventually take the throne gave her a confidence charles lacks.

She didn't want her two kids to be burdened with titles, so they grew up without royal duties...
Anne got rid of her husband.
Later she married a naval officer.
Anne har always been known for being a rather frumpy dresser. She was more stylish in her youth.
And for her directness. Just like her father.
She works harder for "The Firm" than any of her brothers. She would actually make a far better next monarch than Charles...
@@ninaelsbethgustavsen2131 Thanks for all the info. Very interesting!
@@ninaelsbethgustavsen2131 not necessarily. I dont think she'd want all that attention. she says so repeatedly she hates the media in the show. so, not a good idea
@@ninaelsbethgustavsen2131 Charles has also worked pretty hard, but since he had a Duchy of his own to run and several foundations to work at, it was less visibly royal than Anne, who had less responsibility. Still, Charles managed to turn the Duchy into a billion pound business and also did amazing work with the Prince's Trust.
I love her delivery, how it cuts through the chaff, the facade, the veneer, and strikes directly at the heart of it without even a hint of fanfare. Brilliance with a dash of stiff upper lip.
Towards the end: Can i have one normal child. Well, everyone forgets him, but prince Edward seems like a normal person without scandals.
Sophie (his wife) actually got caught in a big scandal a few years ago, selling access to the queen 😬 and there’s been rumours that he’s actually gay… compared to his brothers though, he’s pretty tame lol
Not true. Up until his secretive marriage rumors had it that he was a closeted homosexual. One of the main reason we never see his ‘family’.
@@loriannwhite8384 sophie is often with him. His daighter spoke about her grandfather
@@mattep74 ‘Often with him’? Are you kidding me? The press never follows those 2 anywhere. No pictures of their children. They are ghosts within the royal family. Why? Because for the longest time every one believed he was a homosexual.
@@loriannwhite8384 why is being gay a scandal? it’s just a sexuality.
"Can I have 1 normal child?" that one killed me xDD
Um, Edward?
@@OnLifeandLove Actualy both Anne and Edward pretty normal o_O
Anne's a badass and Edward's just a good dude
Charles: Is a child but I kinda felt a bit bad 4 him at the coronation
Anne: Is a badass
Andrew: ... a pedo
Edward: Nice guy
I love how Anne's eyeroll during the suitability questions just conveys everything she's thinking, "Oh God what has Charles done this time?"
An Emmy-worthy performance across the board. This actor should have been recognized for one of the best supporting performances in a show, hands down. She nailed it.
She's so underrated !!
The first heir that UK needed.
the way the actress who portrays Princesse Anne looks like her ✨ i really loved her during those two season ❤️
Erin was such a great find. Kudos to the casting department.
She even looks like Tobias Menzies, honestly perfectly cast father-daughter duo
3:11 I like how she’s implying that all three of them are fucked…because they are lmaooo
Edward turned out alright!
Edward is much better than Anne
Anne understands how important to be a touching, CARING mother…and told her mother just that. Wow!
Bless her.. Erin Doherty and The Princess Royal.
"Can't I have 1 normal child?"
Wait until you find out what your 3rd child will become when he grows up.
It's breath-taking how extraordinarily accurate the portrayal of Princess Anne is - particularly the voice. Erin Doherty clearly did her homework for this role. Incredible.
I'd imagine the royal family watching this show and while everyone else is complaining about their characters, Anne is all satisfied with hers
I think she was the son Prince Philip always wanted🥺😌❤️.
Anne would have been the best heir. She is incredibly confident. You can tell she never doubts herself for one moment.
The actress portraying Anne is absolutely marvelous, she has captured her perfectly! I hope she won an award for her performance.😃
It was inevitable that Season 4 would focus on the Charles-Camilla-Diana drama-which was, don’t get me wrong, splendidly handled-but I wish we had more focus than we did on Princess Anne. She was the unsung hero of Seasons 3 & 4, and I loved every scene she was in.
I love the Queen's thought bubble towards the end of the sequence, "Can't I have one normal child?"
My favorite line is when she told the queen about the tour that the queen took on australia by saying on the 18th century or whenever you went😂
FINALLY the crown compilation the people NEEDED
Whoever added the annotations did a splendid job!
Anne’s just point blank a legend
It's still a shame they didn't show the kidnap attempt. It would've been a really bad ass moment.
My favorite line is the last one "Can't I have one normal child". Thanks for the translations - even my daughter understood them!
I just love how she describe Charles
Okay but her kissing Charles on the cheek, pausing, and then socking him in the gut is just peak sibling energy. Just...so good. I loved her character so much.
I still think to this day Anne should be next for the throne she has the best ability out of all of her siblings to lead
Anne IS the best royal!
A quick reminder to Americans that The Crown is NOT a documentary.
Meaning they're really more fucked up in real life??? 🤣
Anne is my favorite royal. She was the spare for a long time.
'we need to talk about your brother'
'which one I have three' gets me 🤣🤣
I know this never happened (no one knows about their relationships and conversations), but this series solidified her as my favorite royal. She would have made a great queen
The premise for a spinoff, of which we are undeserving, but desperately need.
Philip without question being like „of course Anne is my favourite child“ is one of my favourite moments in this show
Anne isnt a queen. Anne is a queen💅💅
A wonderful series . Anne was magnificent . Definitely my favourite after Queen Elizabeth.
How is understandably that Diana was a cheater? Women in west truly have no shame at all
Love the captions, especially where The Queen Mother looks at Mountbatten like.....
It is evident that Anne is more of a queen material than Charles.
I dont think Charles is Queen material at all.
@@xerex21212 Okay, sovereign material.
except she hates the media, she wouldnt last a year being queen because she'd hate all the attention. I dont agree.
@@genxx2724 He's not that either.
@@ac6418 Agreed.
Thanks. Awsome compilation of a most fascinating character and a sound performance by this actress.
I think she would have been amazing Queen right after her mother
Of the best characters in the series, in the top 3. I would have liked to see her a lot more.
In real life I am very funny how the whole world observes, criticizes and laughs at this family who believe themselves to be gods on Earth.
Can we just have Anne be the next monarch? She seems much more emotionally prepared for the job.
Pick the Head of State based on merit? What a silly idea.
@@Sphere723 ikr, goes against the laws of gods and men to pick the "realm's delight".
@@Sphere723 Lol
In a galaxy of great actors and despite being in a relatively minor role, the actress who played Anne always burned a hole in whatever scene she was in.
Anne should be the next queen!
She's amazing !!
Thank you for this - this was straight up EPIC and on the mark!
I live for her response to her attempted kidnapper telling Anne to come with him at gunpoint. "Not bloody likely.", she replied.
Love it. I'm keeping this one in my favs. 💯 The more disdained they are, the more I enjoy it 😉 . She's clever and very straightforward, unarguabliy the favorite of Prince Philip and I believe she was depicted softer than how she is in real life.
You need to do a Prince Phillip being a sass master for however long throughout all the seasons.
On my list!
Charles Dance's voice is a gift to the world.
4:19 "Can't I have 1 normal child?"
That would be Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
he'll be Duke of Edinburgh as was planned between the late queen and Charles III.
@@jordanvalencia9597 Seems appropriate.
Very happy people are finally realizing the legend Anne is. She’s amazing and, I think, her not having to eventually take the throne gave her a confidence charles lacks.
She'd make a good king. King.
Long live Princess 👸 Anne ❗️❗️
Princess Anne for the Win!
The casting, in this show, is fucking perfect.
“As long as he’s prepared for there to always be 3 ppl in that marriage” Oh the irony 🙃
If Anne had been born first and male premageniture not a thing, what a powerhouse of a Queen she would have been
My Dad had met the Princess Royal on a couple of occasions, and he told me they had a cup of tea together at which point she scooped all the sugar out of the bottom of the cup and ate it with a tea spoon, very down to earth, apparently.
