    Thanks for a great, simple FPP tutorial. My list of quilting projects and challenges for 2022 includes mastering foundation paper piecing, and this was just what I needed to get started.

    I love foundation paper piecing. It’s my go-to method, but honestly, I’ve never used the actual foundation paper; just use very thin computer paper. I like the idea that it doesn’t curl. I may have to invest in some.

    I've not tried FPP, but this video makes me want to. It looks like you need to get into a routine with the steps, then practice.

    • @christopherthompson9489
      @christopherthompson9489 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's exactly right! I had to practice several times until I was able to full understand the routine. You got this!

    instead of holding it to the light for placement- when you have your paper folded to trim that quarter inch, line your neqw fabric up behind the seam allowance nice and even. You can see it and it keeps you from needing to trim that allowance again after stitching, its already nice and neat and perfectly placed.

    I find that by folding the paper on the lines it makes it easier to align the fabrics. Great tutorial though

    I’m excited to try for the first time. What glue do you use?

    • @christopherthompson9489
      @christopherthompson9489 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You got this! Use a fabric safe glue and remember not to go crazy so you don't get glue on your iron. Try it once without glue too, you may surprise yourself!

    I must be missing something…. I’ve watched several FPP tutorials and watched each of you holding up to the light, sewing, then holding up to the light again and so on. Why isn’t the design just printed on both sides? This would eliminate the tiresome task of aligning the fabrics from the other side! I was thinking of buying the blank foundation paper and giving printing on both sides a try. Thanks for all you do Christopher. I’ve been collecting Blue and White china for years and love your fabrics!

      Use a fabric safe glue. You can find them at your local quilt shop or online retailer.

    Not a fan of the crazy fast sped up section. Some of the of us like to see the whole experience.
    One thing I did learn was to scale up my needle size. Haven't seen that mentioned elsewhere with FPP.

    • @christopherthompson9489
      @christopherthompson9489 2 ปีที่แล้ว
