Thanks for these guides. I'm trying to cheese my way through Honor Mode (so I don't care about time); can you just try again if Rogueport doesn't work the first time?
So, if you fail rogueporting, you won't be able to try it again without reloading the old save, which is why this trick is pretty difficult and scary to perform, especially in honour mode. It does save a lot of time though if done correctly.
Thanks for the guide! I've been learning from this video and practicing the Honor Mode speedruns myself. But I'm consistently running into an issue with the first Rogueport on my practice file (made one on Tactician so I can reload to certain segments and retry tricks). Seems like after taking Gortash's Netherstone and warping to the South Span waypoint, Jaheira immediately teleports into the vision cone of four guards, upon which I trigger a dialogue indicating that I'm trespassing, which completely kills the run. Checking my files, it seems that despite following the route to the dropoff point for Lens, when I get to the point of releasing Lens from kidnapping (at about 9:30) or so, for some reason, four guards would sprint over and stay still at the top level of the bridge, next to the waypoint, trying to find a criminal. They do not detect Jaheira while I do the Rogueport, but stay there and detects me after I take the waypoint back. Do you know anything about why the guards would be triggered to come investigate? They would run over before I even have the chance to crouch and get behind Lens to reverse pickpocket, and would stay there, unable to find me, while I do the entire Rogueporting sequence.
Most likely you got seen jumping to the waypoint from the guards from your initial route there picking up Lens. To prevent that, try being invisible when jumping to that point before kidnapping Lens. You can also turn invisible in the dev room when you fast travel away if the guards are just outside.
@@ChronosReturns After trying over and over for about an hour, I kept getting caught every time, so I did eventually settle for the invisibility cast coming out of dev room! Thank you for the reply, have fun at GDQ! :)
There's potential rogueports, basically with any characters that teleport out of the area. I think this can be for instance applied to Raphael who warps away after meeting him in multiple areas.
I was able to do most of your tutorials on ps5 some you flat out can’t do others are tricky but I found work around did any needs any help for console runs! I’m assuming ps5 and Xbox have the same issues.
Could I use the old act 3 route with the only change being that I skip the fireworks shop and do the new magic missile strat instead? Thanks for the tutorial. Have fun at GDQ 😄
@@ChronosReturns My Myrkul has been inconsistent the past couple days. SH is joining initiative despite being invisible. Have you noticed the same? Did they hotfix the goomba stomp?
@@ChronosReturns I looks like I was too high to the left and not close enough to the enemies. I can't believe I didn't mess it up on practice runs and then messed it up like 6 times in a row.
Was interested in trying rogueporting elsewhere, but it seems it can’t be replicated on ps5 unfortunately. There’s no option to reverse-pickpocket on ps5, even if you open your own inventory [EDIT: option has been added with patch 6, but it doesn’t work on corpses]. The other problem is that, even if reverse-pickpocketing worked, you can’t select your Tav as a spell target by clicking on the character portrait. So the Benign Transportation thing wouldn’t work either. Still, all important glitches in the other videos work on ps5, but for this one I will have to skip the exploring opportunities
I’ve been working on a go out mode ps5 run. You can follow bots and pieces of his guides you just can’t move corpses so no shadowboxing and no node flipping. Also certain jump skips you can’t do or take extra steps to do.
I followed the oder guide. I killed the bosses. Got the stones. Became the mind flayer. Made the emperor bad. And now I'm at the door and it gives me the portal dialog that tells me I'm "missing something" and if I proceed it's 100% game over. How do you stop the end portal from thinking I don't have the stones on me. I'm a mind flayer and have the stones. What did I miss
So this is an extremely rare thing that has happened to me once, and I'm not sure what caused it exactly. I believe it has to deal with parts involving your Tav doing things that were not intended, probably from dying in an odd location that caused the questline to break unintentionally. I would suggest trying it over again since this was a one off scenario.
If you can't do the Gith Fight Skip, there is an alternative method of just manually doing the Gith Fight which should be fine, that is discussed in part 2 of the tutorial series.
You explain things very well, thank you!
Just wanted to say this is an amazing guide, and thank you for the trophy 🙏🏻
Oh!
And you can do this on console btw, my platinum will be a breeze now

fascinating. are there any other points in the game where rogueporting works? curious what could be in that area in acts 1 and 2 for instance

Yes, that will work! I'd recommend doing that for sure if you are not comfortable with Rogueporting.

@@Cubuchin no, it should work as normal, the Myrkul jump is pretty precise from where you start and where you jump to.

Is there a way to cheese through honor mode on console? Not worried about time but I want the achievement lol

What's in the traveler chest in the developer room?
Not much, I believe it's only gold, but there's quite a few interesting things you can look at in the rooms and interact with.

I manage to get all the way here, but i cant do the portal glitch on ps5

I believe the default Key for Short Resting is Z on european keyboard layouts whereas it's only Y on american layouts
Z is the default jump key right?
@@alfred-pc9sb some keyboards have Z and Y switched :)
on qwerty keyboards it is Y, im northern european and use Y
Yeah, didn't keep into account different keyboard layouts, so keybinds may be different occasionally
29:00 How to have infinite status?
kill character - turn base on - pick up body - turn base off - revive and now do status
At the final fight my tab isn’t invisible
