    AEB means auto exposure bracketing. Not balancing. It takes 3 or 5 shots spread out at different exposures for manual stacking for an HDR pic in post. HDR mode does it for you. But using AEB gives more control over your 3-5 shots so you can set exposure how you like.

    Here's an extremely useful tip. If you just bought this item you have to activate it in the app before you do anything else or it will not work at all. DJ I should have put something in there letting people know that. I don't understand why anyone on TH-cam has mentioned that very valuable tip!!

    • @Tvspecialists
      @Tvspecialists  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lou, sorry that we had not included this in our instruction. And you are correct, all of DJI's systems require you to activate the product through the app, and is pretty self explanatory. Once again, we apologize if the instruction is not to your liking. Thanks for watching.

    • @BM-ik5gc
      @BM-ik5gc 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Self explanatory" he says. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Good one

    • @Tvspecialists
      @Tvspecialists  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brendan, we are sorry if you disagree with this. Please understand that we are just talking about the activation process through the app when you power on your system for the first time. In depth things, like what we cover in our videos, in most definitely not self explanatory; that's why we do these videos. But when you first power it on, the activation process is, what we feel anyways, a fairly simple step by step process. Hope this better clarifies our previous statement. Good luck and happy flying.

      If there's no video feed, then please make sure your app, the camera, and the Osmo handle are all up to date on firmwares. Next would be to make sure you're connected to Osmo's WiFi network. For further in depth troubleshooting, please inquire with the dealer/source from whom you purchased your Osmo. Thanks for watching!

    AEB = Auto Exposure Bracketing. This takes multiple pictures at differing exposures, which is helpful with scenes where subjects are at highly variable brightness.

    This is a great review, but what concerns me is the battery life. He said that it was the battery of the Osmo camera, but I think what he meant to say was the phone (correct me if I'm wrong). I can see the power go from 58% to 15% in just this video. How exactly long can you use it before either your phone or the camera is out of power?

    • @vladimirivanovic8593
      @vladimirivanovic8593 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Battery life is about an hour, and my iphone 4s can handle 2 times osmo battery.

    I believe your explanation of AEB is incorrect. In the photography world, Canon uses this term, and it means Auto Exposure Bracketing. It is meant to take a series of still images at different exposures to make an HDR image in another app like Lightroom or Photoshop.

    The sad truth is: some features of the Osmo App only work with an Iphone, like focus peaking, over exposure warning or panorama photo. DJI lacks these functions on the Android app since, what it looks like to us, 2016. So far we have NOT found this info anywhere. What you have to keep in mind: if you have an android phone, you need to buy an additional Iphone. At least if you use this tool professionally.

    when i switch ON my osmo it calibrate in a diagonal direction.

    • @Tvspecialists

      Everytime you power on the Osmo, for best performance, power it on when it's flat and level. The gimbal auto calibration, and calibrate horizon options can be found in the gimbal settings.

      The information you received is false, sorry. That USB port on the Osmo is for firmware updates. We've always simply removed the microSD card form the camera, and connect that to a computer with an SD adapter, or other forms of adaptation.

    have u ever try o connect directly the osmo to a computer? so u can monitored throuth the computer?

    • @Tvspecialists
      @Tvspecialists  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gabriel, as far as we are aware the ability to connect directly to a computer wouldn't be possible with this device because there is no video output on the Osmo. You could use your smart device to connect (just like what is being done on this tutorial), but keep in mind, computers typically don't have video inputs. So you'd also need a video capture device such as the Intensity Shuttle from Black Magic. But also keep in mind, that if you do that, you're using the video from the phone within the app which has a max resolution capability of 720p. Hope this is helpful.

    You missed telling people to set the file numbering to continuous. DJI does a few not so bright things, such as having the default file index mode as "reset." So every time you start shooting again, it goes back to file number 0001. It is a very frustrating thing, and stupid to use as is, because you will eventually have thousands of files numbered/named the exact same. Set it to continuous in the "Camera" settings menu and you will be glad you did.

    • @Tvspecialists
      @Tvspecialists  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. You can change that setting. I for one agree with you, but based from our customer experience, I think most won't think to change it, and most probably won't experience any difficulties either, because most people don't keep every single photo taken in just one folder, but rather in various folders.

  • @nevillvdveen
    @nevillvdveen 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I saw that the shutter and ISO is manual changeable, but is the F-number also manual changeable to adjust the exposure?

    • @Tvspecialists
      @Tvspecialists  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The "f" number you refer to is the "f-stop" or aperture of the camera. The camera, X3, that the Osmo comes with does not have the ability of aperture control. You would need to upgrade to the X5 series of cameras from DJI.

    Hi, I've got a question that apparently no one has answered yet - can you livestream to TH-cam, Facebook or Instagram usign the DJI Go app? I know that the DJI drones support this, but does the Osmo? It's really important to me, I'd appreciate an answer.

    • @Tvspecialists

      Unfortunately, the DJI Go app does not support livestream with the Osmo.

    • @unverifiedbiotic
      @unverifiedbiotic 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TV Specialists, Inc
      That's strange, I've asked on their livechat and wast told that it works. Did you use the latest firmware for the camera and the latest version of the DJI Go app when verifying this? Here's an article written by a guy who was able to stream with the Osmo to Facebook: bit.ly/2aDKsw2

    • @Tvspecialists
      @Tvspecialists  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are absolutely correct. There was a recent update that does now allow streaming via facebook, youtube, as well as RTMP.

    • @unverifiedbiotic
      @unverifiedbiotic 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, have you guys tried it? Any opinions on the quality of the stream or specific info on the stream's properties (bitrate, fps, available settings, etc.)? Sadly, their support is clueless in this regard, the guy I was chatting with flat out told me he didn't know much about the Osmo...

    • @Tvspecialists
      @Tvspecialists  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The quality of the stream, at best, would be the same resolution that you are viewing on your smart device, which is 720p max. It's also going to be based on the quality of your wifi/cell reception. Hopefully the dealer from whom you purchased can offer you additional support regarding this topic. Thanks for watching!

      +Ichiban Noodles the largest phone we've put in the holder is an iPhone 6+ without a case; that phone won't fit with a case.

    Not anything against DJII OSMO . Do you prefer OSMO over a Stedicam or Glide Cam. I know that is a project sensitive question but overall which do you prefer. I was considering the OSMO since I have a DJI Phantom 3 but was worried about latency on the monitor wifi. Looks good on here. I am choosing between a Glide Cam and The OSMO Soon

      +The Reel McCoy Productions I'm not sure I understand the question. Stedicam and Glidecam don't have cameras. So it seems you're comparing apples to mangos. The X3 wouldn't compare to a DSLR that you could put on a Stedi or Glidecam, but the Osmo is much more run and gun. Also, neither of those products are powered gimbals so the stabilization wouldn't be as good. When DJI makes the adapter to use the X5 on the Osmo...now we're talking! That's similar to using a Panasonic GH4. Combine that with 3 axis stabilization and you'd have awesome footage!

    With the time lapse did you need to stitch the captured u images together, or does it produce it as one file ready to go.?

    Hi, thanks for the video. Occasionally, all the screen control buttons on my DJI Go app would disappear and I don't know how to turn them back on. Appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

      +WP Kho if you simply quick tap the screen the controls will disappear and reappear. It does this so that you can take full advantage of the screen image without the controls overlapping/getting in the way.
