He’s an impeccable EAM not just because of his grasp on all subjects related to his ministry but also because his mastery from years of being a foreign Secy / diplomat. He’s such an inspiration for the clarity of thought and control he demonstrates every single time. His predecessor Sushma Swaraj was herself an efficient EAM but to hand him the keys to the EAM’s office after her demise, was indeed visionary on the part of Modi govt.

I am an admirer of Minister Jaishankar ji. But, in my view he could have countered the argument on religious minority by directly stating the good condition and social camaraderie among Hindus and real minorities like Jains , Parsis, Jews, Sikhs Christians etc and put across a point why a single type of minority that is hellbent to destroy others in the name of kafirism haa problem in India. And in India's whether a 20-25% highly vocal, politically charged and radically influenced lot is really a minority?

My 2 cents on where to start understanding the Indian society - The native Indian society and order works with the concept of "dharm" rather than "religion". The western world tries to understand Indian society along the dimension of "Religion", instead, they should actually try to understand "dharm". The foreigners who settled in India brought the concept of "Religion". Each "Religion" has a "god" while a "dharm" does not revolve around the idea of "who is your god?". A "dharm" is more about separating "right from wrong", "good from bad", "order from chaos".

Everyone in India is a minority and majority simultaneously in some ways or form. Some maybe a minority due to their dialect while the same person maybe a majority due to their language. I think thinking in the terms of "minority" does not do justice to a true democratic country, rather, let's think in terms of "factors of disadvantages". Is being a Hindu/Muslim/Sikh/Christian etcetera a "factor of disadvantage" in India, the answer is emphatically "No" while it maybe "Yes" in some other part of the world, hence, I strongly reject the idea of "minority" as a "factor of disadvantage" in Indian society. If you think contrary, maybe it's true for your country but India.
