What on earth are you watching, in what world is Van De Beek, a CAM who likes to make late runs into the box to finish or play 1-2s with strikers to create or score, a good CDM. VDB was very obviously brought in to deputise Bruno and potentially Pogba, but unlike Fernandes who’s a creative playmaker with a good shot, he’s more of a midfielder with excellent attacking play who wants to get on the end of attacks rather than start them. That’s why VDB has so far not performed up to standard when played and also doesn’t fit the system as expected, since Cavani, Greenwood, and Martial are all trying to get on the end of chances rather than create them and only Rashford is the most creative one out of them. McTominay and Fred are much better as purely defensive midfielders.

I would disagree they all feature regular even if they don't start, except Ziyech he hasn't played much while being fit. Pulisic has been injured a lot. Kante and Chilwell played a lot under Lampard and Kante comes of the bench almost every game since Tuchel took over. If you think they don't play than look at Havertz he hasn't played/started except in cup games.

You are referring to the fact that Koeman played Ilaix instead of Puig yesterday but we needed a physical player for the match and Ilaix did a very good job. Both players are recent Barça B players.
