WOW!! I never realized that Angela Bofill was a percussionist I am truly shocked right now. I thought that she was just a great vocalist. “Tonight I Give In” was a big hit in 1983 which is the year I graduated from High School.
Seeing Angela Bofill play percussion makes me even more in AWE of her incredible talents Rest in Heaven Angela! Your spirit, angelic voice, music and legacy live on! 🙏🏾💕♬🎤🥁🎶
What? I didn’t my know she died. I came to see if this was before or after her stroke. I was hoping she was better. I’m sort of young you can say…. I was just a baby or not even born when she came out. However I fell in love with her music like everyone else. Wow very sad news, I was looking to hear the opposite. Thanks for sharing.
@@nishamarley1416 you're welcome! A sad irony. On Sunday June 23rd, I saw Angela's "Unsung" episode from 2012 on TVOne for the first time. I found out so much about Angela that I didn't know and was curious, so I looked her up. I hoped to find out good news about Angela being in good health and returning to singing, even if only on a small scale, following her second stroke in 2007 and found out about her passing. Amazing that Angela lived 17 years after her second stroke! Angela was such a treasure who leaves a great legacy of amazing singing, songwriting and an effervescent, warm spirit.💕
@@nishamarley1416 , here is the link to Angela's amazing performance on Johnny Carson in 1979! I'm still in awe of it! I mush have watched it at least 100 times since last Sunday! th-cam.com/video/yijjUpv2ml8/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1😊💕♬🎤🎶
Omg, I did not know she passed away. I love “I tried” I think that’s the name of the song. She had an incredible soulful voice. She wrote that song when she was like 16. She sings that song with such passion. Will Downing remade it, and his version is good, but it’s not the passion of Angela’s version. RIP angel, I’m so glad I was able to listen to her music. She will definitely be missed
Nobody can sing that song like her. Hard to believe she was in HS when she wrote it (I Try). So very talented and should've gotten more recognition. RIP Angie 🙏🏽
Such a PHENOMENAL artist (Songwriter/Musician/Singer). She blessed us with her artistry. I'm heartbroken at her passing. One of mt ALl-TIME FAVORITE singers.
Both are wonderful dont compare with sheilia e please keep each one has their talent one excellent a singing the other drum Everyone has their expertise.

Here’s another rare find……. first it was Chaka Khan on drums I saw on a video. Now it’s Angie Bofill on percussions!!! all I could think of…… is this where Sheila E got her inspiration from? 🙂🙂😀 I have to find other best female singers played drums! 👍👍👍
Wow! I don’t have a clue why I didn’t know Angela could play percussion so well. Her timing was impeccable.Loved her vocals and tunes. She was one of the greats in my eyes.. much like Phyllis Hymen & Gwen Guthrie ,who all sadly past away suddenly also. Gwen could play many instruments & wrote & produced many of her classics. May they all rest in peace.🙏🏼❤
I first saw Angela in a free concert in NYC'S Central Park. She was the opening act for Gato Barbieri. People did not know who she was. But I did. That's who I wanted to see. After Angela's performance, EVERYONE knew who Angela was. She tore the house down!!! Rest in peace. 🙏
I saw her at the World Trade Center before 9/11. She was one of the musicians performing on Wednesdays as a part of Jazz Wednesdays sponsored by CD 101.9 (I miss that station). She definitely performed and loved the audience. It was my privilege to see her perform live. My prayers go out to her family.
wow ms angela I didn't know she can play wow that will been cool she could of collaborated with Shelia E , Mr. Estavedo, and Prince that would of being so dope! I so sad she pass may she RIP and prayers are with her family and friends
I never knew she played instruments. I saw this video about 3 days ago. Had no idea that the next day, she would no longer be with us. She passed on my birthday. A true talent that will be cherished by fans like myself. Rest well, Miss. Bofill
I agree with the first comment I didn't even know Angela Bofill played instruments and let alone drums! Amazing! She was very beautiful and her vocals were unquenchable fire💯 she had a signature sound you knew it was her! We're going to miss her! Much love to our sister Angela Bofill!!❤❤

There's a reason Angela was signed to a jazz label, they weren't gonna let her be picked up by some Pop record label, she was too talented. 👍
