  • Founded ten years ago in Puerto Rico by father and son team, Nicholas and Michael Leason, Lift is a premium hydrofoil brand dedicated to innovation in both performance and technology. This documentary tells the story of the brand and their flagship eFoil product, in the voice of the team and their collaborators.
Lift was the first to patent eFoil technology. Inspired by advances in lithium battery technology and wireless communication, the eFoil is a mix of surfing, flying, and deep powder snowboarding. A powerful, silent, electric motor, a state-of-the art battery, and high-performance boards, foils, and wings, combine to allow riders of all athletic capacities the opportunity to fly above any body of water, without needing to be propelled by wind or waves.

I here ya! My story is 30 years of frequent grumpy times waiting for wind for my windsurfing, and kiting. No more! The word Gamechanger is overused, but in this case it honestly applies. It's made my daily life happy.

I'm not the comment posting kinda guy but just have to... Just received my 5'0 with a 170 wing, Merry Christmas to me!!! Amazing product, incredibly well engineered and beautiful build quality. I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on Lift, it was definitely the right choice. It was a huge investment but worth every penny. If you want to rationalize it it's the price of a jetski which gets old real quick and ends up being parked. Jetski requires no skill, efoiling is a sport/challenge that make you feel a sense of accomplishment, I'm barely scratching the surface this thing it has huge potential... Thank you Nick and your team for developing an amazing product.

As soon as I saw the Lift on a TH-cam clip nearly 3 years ago I knew had to have one. At the time it was still under R&D & I had to wait 15 months to get my first 5'0" - it was worth the wait. I now have the 4'4" which is next level. With the combo of wings & folding prop it absolutely rips in the waves. You can't put a price on fun - best investment I've ever made. I'm out at least 4-5 times a week frothing like a grom to get at the waves & I'm nearly 63. Thanks Nick & the Lift team it's the fountain of youth :).

I'm nearly 62 and just got my 5'0" on the vigorous recommendation of my long-time distance sailing catamaran buddy, Michael Yost, and I love it already. Only got 3 hours on the board yet in the middle of winter but my entire family (GrandDad included) are chomping at the bit to try it. I appreciate the fact I've got a high end dry suit because you WILL spend a lot of time in the water learning but I realize I'm going to have to gain proficiency fast over the winter if I'm going to get any time on the board over the summer.

This is great to hear. I'm 71 with 3 decades of windsurfing and kite foiling. I found myself "horny" for wind much to often on windlass days and now with my new 5' Lift I have my water session grin going everyday

I had the chance to ride a Lift efoil in PCB, FL. with PCB efoil and it was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had. We started out practicing on our bellies for a couple minutes, then on our knees a couple minutes later, and within 10 minutes I was standing up. I love how you can control the power on the remote from 1 to 15. I was able to stand up on just power 4 and even at a slower speed, it was an amazing experience. I can't wait until production and batteries become more streamlined and become cheaper.

I took my first E-foiling lesson in March on a Lift from Paula at E-Foil Miami and had an absolute blast. I really think the popularity of e-foiling will just explode once there is enough exposure. This seems like the perfect water sport for resorts, which would provide a great opportunity for marketing and exposure. And I can see small businesses (or even franchising opportunities) popping up at resorts (or resort communities) around the world offering lessons followed by sales for those that are hooked (and many will be!). Great job Nick, keep up the great work!

Just bought my first board. Absolutely amazing. The product couldn't be engineered any better if Elon Musk himself focused on the product. Really. It's in the same class. In fact - I'd much rather have my efoil than a Tesla. Be glad they are not greedy and charging more money for these boards because after you ride one - you will pay any price they ask!

For those commenting on price: Expensive is relative. A mid range jet ski costs this much. But, you cannot launch a jet ski anywhere, you will pay launch or buoy fees, and you need a trailer. Efoil as all electric doesn’t dump fuel and exhaust. Oh, and way more fun than jet ski, especially if you are surfer. On lake, the slightest wake becomes a surfable wave!! I live at Lake Tahoe part time and best investment I could have made. I am 30 year surfer, pretty darn good, win local contests, but I have never had my mind blown like this!!

It will be mine! Oh yes! It will be mine! I recently Almost bought a jet ski about a year into the pandemic. I love jet skiing and made some crypto money I was looking to blow. I contacted Yamaha and a local dealership twice without either getting back to me which it seems may have been a blessing in disguise. After doing a lot more research on your product and really assessing what would suit me better personally for a recreation water sport I’m definitely going with a Lift. I’m so stoked I can’t stand it. I’m also an old school surfer so this is super appealing as well. I also like the physical aspect and versatility of deployment the Lift offers in comparison to a loud gas guzzler that I have to trailer.

Aloha Nick, just got my 5'6" in late March in Austin, TX. Already had a 200 wing so I got a 170 Surf and a 250 surf. I have a 150 classic that lives in Maui for kitefoiling. Love the product, you are so right that it seems expensive right up to the point that you stand up and make a turn! I've got a question, I want to tow someone else with this. What's the setup? What do you use for the tow line and how do you attach it?

I'm sure you have heard it all before and hopefully one day you will figure it out. Don't take this comment as a negative, I will buy an e-foil once I try it out at one of your demo centers at some point but it would be great to see others to experience it without a sacrifice on quality and get the same experience.

@@vaughnsadventures4069 I got to test drive the 4'2". It was just too small for me to get up on. I literally had to stand on the nose, so. I opted for the 5'6. So far so good. I would definitely test drive the different boards before you buy, otherwise you may regret getting a size too big or too small.

I come from 6 years of kite foiling and I opted for the 5' after trying and failing on the smaller board. I'm happy with my purchase since I really need a size I can comfortably rely on to get me out of tough spots in waves quickly. With the smaller board I initially found that the Bluetooth receiver in the nose would submerge and kill the motor.
